I have just gone through having my 2016 V40 repaired after it got hit by a Toyota 4WD. The one thing both the repairer and I learned, is that if any of the collision avoidance sensors or blind spot monitoring sensors are disturbed, they have to be recalibrated in order to get them working properly after the repairs have been completed. We got a dealer to do the recalibration. (The insurance company paid 😉) Now having stated that, the crash repairer who worked on my car also said that the thought behind , and the design and build of the V40, is amazing. He said that the repair job was straight forward because of the way the car was built, which meant the work was like putting a kit together. Your video explains to me what he meant. Thanks guys.😂

Ere Rob. Without the airbag kit being done car is not repaired. It is ‘much’ it’s part of the process of bringing the car back to service. Nice one mate. 👍👍

We have the identical car and you are correct, where my vauxhall uses two screws for the glovebox the volvo uses 7! When I saw the inside on the first video I thought you were mad tackling that!! Good work and glad to see my cars twin being brought back to life!

Well you often say 'every day is a school day' and this was a learning curve. Now you know how to do it I am sure next time will be quicker. I suppose it makes sense for them when building the car to put the roof lining in first. Well done Rob for getting it all back together in a day. I hope Chris manages to work his magic on the bonnet it will save some money but that is for another video. Thank you for another interesting episode from SRUK. 👍👍

I owned a 2018 Volvo V40 that my son now has. Excellent motor and well made as you said Rob. I now have a 2022 Volvo All Electric C40 Crossover, Excellent well made motor as well.

I probably will always have a Volvo as my main everyday car for these reasons you mention. I think they are the best all round cars on the road and they make a car to suit everyone. The one you’ve got is lovely especially being R design.

These V40's are really nice motors. Personally, I prefer them over the VW Golf, Seat Leon, BMW 1 series & Audi A3. For me, it would either be one of these or a Mercedes A Class in this category of vehicle. Hope you make a good profit out of this one. I was going to say I hope this one turns out good, but all of the cars you 2 get your hands on turn out good.

i am a city and guild panelbeater( body repair tech now haha) of the old school variety with nigh on 50 years exp. and only recently threw it away because of these nightmare strip/assemble scenarios. The last vehicles i worked on were '21 audi s8 hit hard in the r/r and a virtually brand new Jag i-pace hit full noise frontal, both fantastic vehicles to work on, the Audi was a breeze really, but as you say getting one's head around the procedural dilemma is the mind fk i do not need. You do a great job of an explanation of pitfalls and tips for this volvo airbag s&a( i love volvos) I work in an engineering shop now; lathes, milling, presses etc and specialising in aluminium tig welding.. much easier haha-- love this, new found, channel and dig the pommie(p.o.m.e. = prisoner of mother england) accent, i'm in nz and have been for over 40yrs..rock on man

I had a '13 V40 D3 (the 2.0 5cyl one). Drove brilliantly & such great build quality. Pretty stylish & lots of spec. One of the few cars I miss to be honest. Considering it's basically a Focus underneath, they are in reality worlds apart...

I can remember fitting a parrot hands free kit into a Volvo S40 I had, one with the floating centre console and that took me near enough all day to do. Couldn’t believe how many screws i had to take out just to get to it!

We have a 2016 v40 d4 r design.....little rocket ship, built like a tank, and apart from the engine, all ford running gear, you can even see the ford stamps in the body...the front suspension also apears to be the same as the suspension on the ford mondeo

Love the speed and entuism Rob shows. All that small screws and nuts can take days, but you just cracks on and get it done. One of my mates says that my Ford Focus looks like the Volvo. I must say, that he's not that far away, when I look at this Volvo (Or should we say PSA / Ford ?) Anyway, it's a really nice car. I'm pretty sure that Chris will nail it one more time. Love watching your videos and learn a trick or two.

That's because they are built on the same platform. They are from the era when Ford owned Volvo. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Ford parts are in there somewhere.
