I normally don’t comment on videos but I was inclined to do so this time around. I’ve put so much work into my outer appearance because I felt like getting acceptance from the world would bring me joy. I get compliments daily on my body but lay in my bed feeling empty at night. Thank you Mark for this interview. The words that Eric spoke really flipped a light 💡 switch in my mind. I have some internal work to do and only I can do it!

sober 18 years this year. It’s wasn’t easy at all getting sober. Took around 7 years of shaking and rattling till I felt stable. Now I have a good life. Now I do Carpentry and furniture restoration for the Federal Government I got benefits and a pension, Saved some for my retirement I was able to stay solid wth my kids and put my daughters through school Lots o good stuff is happening now. Nice wife. Who loves me. It’s not perfect, but it’s way better. You can do it too dude Ear who you can. Trust. Let people help you.y

I could see him rising from the ashes & mentoring young men

I can't remember the last time I was So captivated by someone's story. His eyes are truly a window to his soul....you can almost see that he has crawled through hell on earth, battled his demons and came through it with wounds so deep that they take a lifetime to heal. He lives with his wounds and navigates coping mechanisms to ease the pain. This man has so much knowledge and wisdom that could help so many. I sincerely wish him all the best and pray that he finds the peace in his soul that he truly deserves

Eric.... here’s a mom talking.... honest all we mommas want is just to see you do good in your life and we want you healthy and hopefully happy and we pray for that everyday. We don’t need anything else. I have 3 sons that are recovering heroin addicts and they have all been to jail and/or prison. It means more to me that they are clean and sober than anything else in this world. They still struggle but they are learning and I will always love them no matter and I’m always here for them. You got this! Never look back! Forward is the only way. YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

My heart exploded when I saw how proud he was of himself for learning how to work. He said it like a little kid says how he finally learned how to ride his bike without training wheels like my heart 🥺🥺🥺

The way he approaches his flooring and cement job is so admirable. He has such an appreciation for the opportunity and takes pride in his work. I love how he sees that the skills he's learning at work can transform other aspects of his life. He's very introspective and I am humbled by his words.

I seen this man before. I seen him in my daddy. I seen him in my uncle. I seen him in my cousin. I seen him in my community. The crack era broke many generations and we still repairing from it to this day.

A sense of accomplishment and routine can go SUCH a long way towards staying on the right path. We are all rooting for you, Eric!

Eric has a very powerful presence when he is speaking, you have no choice but to listen and feel his words. I feel like i gain more knowledge and life lessons from videos by people like him on this channel than damn near anywhere else i know of. Eric and others like him on this channel that have lived through so much, and now have the wisdom to help prevent others from having to go through the same mistakes, need some kind of way to be able to get their messages out to as many of the younger generation as possible. This platform is a huge step in that direction, but wish there was an even bigger way to reach more, many who may not even get on the internet.

Wow ! Having a close family member [daughter } who struggles with an opiate addiction and who is now in third year of recovery, this video brought tears . Addiction truly do take your body , mind spirit and soul and until you go through yourself or see a family member struggle , you have no idea what this disease can do. " everything becomes a coupon" So true. I love his quote " life its hit or miss, trial and error" . That is life in a nutshell and it is scary . Erics pride in doing a good job . Finding the self esteem and self worth which is so woefully lacking . Eric , you are an inspiration and keep doing what you are doing one day at a time and get up each morning putting "one foot in front of the other" . That's really all any of us can do and Mark, I would love to see follow ups on this guy because I feel it is so important to put success stories out there . Thank you.

Have listened almost every part of Erics story. It's almost unreal how much I hear my self in his story. Not that I have been in jail or done drugs ect but with the hard times and strugle when you find out that at the age of 50 you have to re think and make your whole life again because things you've done have had a negative out comes in almost every parts of life. Its a dam scary thing to realize that life has its limits with time and you have to make some serious decissions and commit to something totally different you have built your life before... It's hard to explain but I really feel there's so much in common in me with Erics words that it is like some kind of introduction of higher power (though its not something I have in my believe world) that I have a chance to hear Erics story and mirror my own life on it.
