Rebuilding the lives of victims of Gender-Based Violence in Sri Lanka 

Janethree Kulawardhana serves with UNDP in Sri Lanka as a UN Youth Volunteer. During her assignment, she assisted in providing comprehensive assistance to victims of Gender-Based Violence.
Through the project ‘Ensuring the protection of women and girls including survivors of GBV and Trafficking and vulnerable communities during the social economic crisis in Sri Lanka’, 11 shelters were provided across different districts in Sri Lanka to distribute nourishing food, sanitary requirements, and other basic needs.
Beneficiaries also received:
⚖ Legal and counseling support, empowering them to navigate their recovery journey and seek justice.
✍🏼📔 Training to engage in income-generating activities and micro-enterprises to enhance their economic opportunities and promote financial independence.
🫂 Reintegration and social support networks for survivors and their newborn babies.
