RECARO SEAT INSTALLATION - WE HAVE A PROBLEM 

The new seats definitely look more at home in the 86 in my opinion unfortunately.

My honest opinion is that the seats look better in the 86! It’s a hard pill to swallow but sometimes we just have to take the loss move on Brother! The positive thing is that you have another Fox to put them in…💯👊🏾👊🏾

When I got my Recaro seats I purchased Wedge seat brackets with double locks. Very happy with how they sit in my fox.

That much color difference would drive me nuts. I think it would you too! You're picky like me lol!! Good luck with your decision. Thanks for the videos!!

85/86 seats are one of the best things about 85/86 GT, I don’t know if I could change them if it was mine!

I’m running Planted Technology brackets with Recaro 0.70.9nt sliders. I think it sits perfect in my ‘88. I’m 6’1” and definitely feel it’s a lower seating position.

My 85 interior is the same. Those seats really look good on the 86.

First off (Dale Yeah).. second. They do look better in the 86. I vote you save them for it.

You need to get the 79 Pace car seat adapters. They are angular and will make the seat bottom sit level. The adapter you have is totally wrong. Maybe go in a pace car group and ask for pics. Then you will see what I am talking about. I would keep your stock seats just in case. I almost sold my 83GT reupholstered seats with netted headrests. They were out of my 82GT while I had pace car seats for a while. I decided the pace car seats were not the match, sold those and the 83 seats are back in my 82. Sometimes you have to try something out for a while

I hate to say it, but they look good in the 86. That’s why I did black seats in mine. Titanium is so hard to match. Even if it’s fresh painted.

Ah the seat install and custom brackets - all the fun. Those seats match the 86. On seat brackets, you could gt a set of SN/New edge ones to cut up. You only need the foot mount. After that square tube or angle iron. I'll send you a FB message for more info.

They do look better in that 86! If you get rid of the seats in the 86, let me know!

I vote toward the seats going in the 86. They match dead on to that interior. Definitely a rough decision to make at the cost of them.

Personally I would have put black seats in your beautiful red car .it would tie in better then any other grey seat because grey seats would need to be more color matched to look right would could be hard to do . But they do look good in your 86 car for sure . Black seats would just tie in better for you on the red car

Really no mystery. Planted seat brackets with Recaro sliders. Or mount the seat directly to the planted bracket to be at your lowest. I’ve had many sets of Recaros in many different foxes since the early 90’s. Can’t have a Fox without them. The stock seats are literal garbage and Flofits are trash as well. Thank Jesus for these overseas wizards for resurrecting all the Recaros.

what about doing something like an S550 seats in the red gt? I know you drive your car a good amount and they look pretty comfortable.

I like my black interior.. I know you’re disappointed… I would be also. Recaros look amazing… just re dye - matches the 86 pretty close!! I like the darker grey in the 86.

I’m in the process of mounting my recaros I dropped the money on PLANTED brand seat brackets. Haven’t installed yet but mocking up they seam to have the right height and don’t sit too high in the front. The planted brackets have staggered mounted feet

New seats in 86, then get all black covers and recover the current 86 seats to put in the 91.

I did a full review of recaro seats in a Foxbody that'll help other people i posted it here on RU-vid.. You're problem is the fox brackets raise the seats to much you need planted brackets and for the tightness well you can get a M bottom that's a less aggressive lower seat.

Better in 86 for sure but the 86 seats are really nice to I would sell the new ones and get another set of seats one that fit into and color you need alot easier then loosing 50 lbs 😂

That's a hard call especially from a black interior lover! I'm worried I order the 2k recaros and then they aren't comfortable. I had a 2011 cts-v and I was fat until I had the sleeve surgery but even at 200 lbs I could never get comfortable in the recaro seats. Question would the low profile seat brackets LMR sells fit? I guess they're for the corbeau seats!

My 1985 Mustang seems to have 20 different shades of gray in the interior. Ford really mixed it up. My least favorite shade is the light gray carpet.

Also just a FYI, I would have had them use a seat cover to go by (Fabric sample) for them to wrap them in...

On camera it looks like the cushion matches the titanium interior…it looks good. I’m in the same boat, I just received my recaros and theyre 5:14 snuuug! Im slim and tall guy but I don’t think these seats are intended for anyone over 5’8 and 170lbs

Recaros look the best in a 4eye. Unless you have a all black interior on the aero that’s the only way it really looks nice

Nice seats but the color don’t match. I was planning to purchase the same for my 89 but now I know I won’t like. I am hoping they have other colors available

What about maybe putting the 86 seats in your car. Try recaros in 86 and put the 86 seats into your car..

I think you try and sell the seats and recoup some money and get a different set

Recaros in a 87+ car need to have solid headrests. anything prior is netted.

I have a set of wedges and seat tracks from a 79 pace car. Im located in pasadena tx id willing to sell.

It may not be what you want to hear, but they do look nice in the 86. Although all the purist are gonna lose their minds.

Yeah if i paid that kind of money for seats I'd want them to match 100%.

If you're looking to lose weight, try Keto. I lost 50lbs in 3 months with no exercise. I was able to eat good food too.
