Affordable Recaro full interior for my Fox Body Mustang purchased from Malaysia. I took the leap and find out how much and were they worth it. www.417fox.com for merch
Those are pretty sweet! I am thinking of ordering some Recaros for my 82GT. I had a couple sets, including a 30K mile full set out of a pace car. They were too nice for my car and they wear during use so I sold the set for 2300 & another pair that were reupholstered for 700, but I kept the seat tracks/adapters plus a MINT pair of headrests. I need a black leather or vinyl to match the rear seats the car came with that are in great condition. Right now I have a reupholsted set of 1983 GT seats with the netted headrests in my 82. The recaros are not that comfortable though, I actually like the tall back seats the best. I have tallbacks in both my 90GT & my 93LX 2.3. My 83GT convertible has 90GT convertible seats. But I think the 82 would be correct if I had the black leather Recaros styled like the original vinyl seats to match the back. The 82 isn't my daily....I just want it correct...the 82 which is ttop is my fav of all my cars and has the nicest parts
I have a set of recaros out of a wrecked SVO in my V8 swapped Ranger. Also have the stern 17in three pieces. Those damned things took forever to track down and cost more than anything else on the truck including the truck lol
Wow, those look awesome, looking forward to seeing how they fit and look inside car, I'm kinda tall and wide, so I actually need seats sitting lower for a little head room
We used to include Wedge Seat brackets with the Recaro's we do, but they stopped making them and only do Corbeau now. I'm looking at making my own brackets, the sliders you can get from Recaro still (someone already posted the part number). I probably rebuild and do 4-5 seats of seats a year (Recaro). Those look good, better than some that I have seen come from overseas and refinished.
WOW!!! Those seats look fantastic can not wait to see the interior come together with those and the other matching upgrades you plan. Looking forward to receiving my stereo bezel kit that y’all shipped out with a quickness as well not that it will be installed anytime soon since I should probably get the car running and back on the road before I start installing a system.
Those do look really good Michael! I'd take a set if I didn't have 2002 GT front and rear seats in my 87. I even put some halos on the fronts. 😂 Can't wait to see how it looks installed.
if its the same guy he has a light tan and plaid set i want for my 1996 Jeep cherokee im restomodding. he has a bunch of them listed on Ebay. the ones i want are 2400.00 for the 2 fronts.
I ended buying new sliders and brackets when I bought my new recaro seats. Modifying the corbeau brackets was going to be a pain and they also raised the seat which I didn't like.
@@417fox bought the sliders from recaro part number 0.70.9NT and the seat brackets from planted. The corbeau brackets are to narrow for the recaro seats. You would need to widen the corbeau brackets an inch on each side then drill new mounting holes then cut the cross bar as it will be in the way and you'll feel it on bumps. Can it be done of course but just seemed like to much of a hassle for me.
@kennethhunt6998 PLANTED seat brackets I bought from Amazon part number SB010PA and SB010DR. Sliders I bought from vivid racing but I highly recommend not buying from them as dealing with them was a month long process.
What do you feel is the advantage of ordering from Malaysia vs. having a local upholstery shop complete the same work? Is it the seats aren't easily available in the USA (the initial used Recaros)? If you have the seats already, a local shop may do them for cheaper and faster without worrying about shipping across the globe.
Look 👌. I was talking to them and still trying to decide my fabric combo and wether to go lx-c or ls-c. What material did you go with ? Leather or viynl sides ? Are the centers regular cloth or perforated alcantara.
Mike, you're near as tall as I am. Look at the Wedge brackets and choose the low option. I got the regular height and I am going to modify them to have them sit a little lower. The refurbished Recaro seat padding is a little firm and you don't sink into it, so an inch or two lower will be welcome.
