How the CB aligns/shades on a Receiver is dependent on the defensive scheme or the specific defensive play that is called. Depending how you want to force the receiver to the outside or inside, you can do either same arm or opposite arm. A lot of programs/coaches use same arm however others use an opposite arm concept. Both are equally effective depending on the skill of the CB.
This is soooooooooooo incorrect, first if the ball is to the inside no and i mean no DB is going to reach with his outside hand to try and jam you. They are all taught to shade inside shuffle inside and move thier feet. When they do try and jam its going to be with the inside arm not the outside. Another example of someone teaching incorrect technique.
It depends. If I’m Cover 1 To the boundary, I just might play an outside shade and press to funnel everything back to my safety. Everything is situational, this is the game inside the game.
