Creating a new display for my antique mourning jewelry pieces! I also share a few new antique non-jewelry items. Thank you for watching! If you are a fellow jewelry lover please consider subscribing to my channel. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!! For whatever reason it had a piece of crochet/lace in it when I found it- but it does seem like the perfect shape for a fan. Thank you for watching! ♥️♥️♥️
I adore the album and large jewelry casket- Really unique! You must have at least one whole room dedicated to your collection, you seem to have a lot of pieces! I think you did the mourning jewelry great justice in displaying it in that unique case. I’m guessing the lace had much sentimental value. Love seeing your finds :)
Hi Hannah! I could probably fill a room with jewelry! 😬 I am lucky to have a supportive partner who doesn't mind the multiple jewelry cabinets in our house. lol He even refinished the cabinets for me. I do keep it contained to just a few areas though. Thanks for the kind words and for watching! ♥️♥️♥️
Very nice display case & your collection of mourning jewelry looked very nice in it !!! I don't have any mourning jewelry but would like to find some !!! Loved the pins with the glass over braided hair & the black 🖤 locket with the two colored portraits in it !!! You have such beautiful jewelry !!! ❤️🙂
I absolutely adore your collection of mourning pieces!! Your idea of display is wonderful!! You find such marvelous things!! I have a few pieces and an engraved locket with an early tin type of a handsome gentleman circa 1860. I call him Mr. Darcy from the book Pride and Prejudice!!❤️❤️
Thank you Sylvia!! ❤️❤️❤️ Ohh that locket sounds wonderful- and I love the Mr. Darcy reference. I have collection of books too- which includes Jane Austen. 😊 Love tin types and any antique photographs really. I try to save them when I can!
I love the photo album! Your new display is really nice, and the mourning jewelry looks great in it. I think the crocheted lace could be a Victorian doily (or newer, people still make them). Maybe someone's grandma made it and they kept it in the box to keep it safe and to remember her.
Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️ You are probably right about it being a keepsake that a family member/grandmother made. I know nothing about crochet/lacework items so I wasn’t sure. It was special enough to someone to keep it in that case- so I don’t feel right just getting rid of it. Not entirely sure what to do with it yet though! 😅
The piece of crocheted lace could an antimaccsar, which was used to protect the back or arms of a chair. Enjoyed seeing your mourning jewelry. You always find such interesting items!
Your display is lovely! You have a really nice collection. Sealing it in is a good way of protecting the hair from pest damage. I have a number of mourning jewelry pieces too, including woven work netted pieces which have to live in sealed containers currently to keep them safe. I really enjoy seeing other collections. Thank you for sharing yours, Connie
Thank you!! That is a great point about protecting the hair pieces. I am going to seal the glass with silicone. Hopefully they last for another hundred years. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!! I have a few stick pins that I've found in various jewelry jars/bags. They are mainly costume- I may have a few gold filled/sterling pieces- but I do have a little pin cushion where I keep the more interesting ones. I will share them in a video :). Hopefully I will add more antique/special stick pins to my collection in the future. ❤❤❤
Thank you! Some of the chains were used as watch chains that would hold a pocket watch on the end. The longer linked chains were used as necklaces. ❤️ Thanks for watching!
Thank you!! I have tried this on a few pieces in the past but need to test it out on all of them. I've heard using unglazed ceramic works to see the mark best. I have not tried that though! ♥️♥️
Thank you!! I wasn't sure if it was something more interesting since someone had it saved in that box/case. Makes me feel better about taking it out. ♥️
lol you would think so!! My house was also built in 1902 - so plenty of time for ghosts to take up residence but I’ve yet to have a paranormal experience! Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love that chain. I can almost picture you as a victorian lady from back in the day, seems like that woukd be your era for your love of mourning jewelry. I feel this almost insatiable love for paste line bracelets, i think my era would be art deco. Have ypu ever had a nail polish almost like the tiffany color? Have searched for that color for years but i realize its a protected color, only Tiffany can have the specs for it. Greatvideo!
Thank you!! I think the Victorian style would definitely be my era. Love deco too though- but have less of it in my collection at the moment. I have had a Tiffany blue polish- I believe it was just a drugstore Sally Hansen color. I will look up the name and let you know! ❤️❤️❤️
I found the polish name! ❤️ I actually have 2 polishes that I think are very close to the Tiffany blue color: Sally Hansen gel polish in shade: Mintage. And OPI in shade: “Closer Than You might Belém”.
@@LittleBlueJewelryBox thanks so much for sharing that. If i was Tiffany i would offer fhe tiffany color to my VIP clients lol. Imagine how exclusive it would be. How long were you working for Tiffany? Man, luckiest job ever!
That is such a great idea- Tiffany has a copyright on that exact color too- I think people would love that! I worked there for 7 years. From age 18-25. I left after I graduated from college and got a job in a totally different field. It was a very lucky and fun job for sure!!
