Ancient stuff . Yasss females go alone & unarmed into the world when lots of criminals male & female don't care about the laws . Demons also be stalking people & kidnapping people .
I slightly disagree, one theoretical reason is deterrence I.e. knowing your crime will be caught on camera. The second more practical way I have seen cameras stop crime is when they have an audio component and the suspect can be told with specificity ("You in the black shirt and khaki pants") that he is being monitored.
riding the train in L.A. is not safe because they allow homeless people to live on the trains, train stations, and bus stations/ busses. these bums feel entitled to your money and get angry if you don't give them money they will stalk women because they are easier targets for them.. I see police but only in Union station.. they need to send more sheriff's and LAPD to Pasadena.
In other words, they aren't going to do anything. This guy will be out on the streets before you know it. Government is letting us all down with this soft on crime attitude. You know for sure that if somebody would have defended themself from this nut with a firearm, the full force of the state and local government would come down on them.
@perfectandslow9689 Their job is to be visible, keeping the good people good. Most likely, they are sick of babysitting those transients and riders observing and making their usual round of report 🙄 code 4 whatever out of sight out of jurisdiction.
When seconds count, in this case the cops are 7 minutes away. Weapons detection in this case would be meaningless...the weapon was his fists and feet. Mental health is a problem sure, but let's leave the woman helpless while we erect another expensive bureaucracy that does nothing to solve the problem, but allows politicians to posture and brag about how they're getting "tough on crime" while letting these creeps out, again and again.
You guys ask the question that hold no one accountable No accountability just repetitive coverage of people pointing the finger to each other Stop recording the scene Go to the houses of the elected officials and ask them the real questions
California used to have open carry Ronald Reagan got rid of it when he was governor because the Black Panther Party exercised their open carry rights while marching on the state capital to protest police brutality They didn't break any laws so Republicans changed the laws California's lack of open carry ability is because of Republicans
I hate to add to the mayhem but it needs to be said…this last Sunday afternoon I was attacked and robbed at knifepoint in broad daytime on the metro Red Line subway at the Hollywood/Highland station in a car full of people. I was able to defend myself and throw the attacker off me but in the process of struggling he swiped at my hand and sliced open two of my fingers. Just got home from surgery after three nights in the hospital. It pains me to say this as I was born and raised in LA but…no more. I’m done with LA. This crisis is growing faster than we can control it. I’m out ✌️
"mental health crisis", "substance abuse", it took so many instances similar to this for Metro and other Los Angeles authority figures to move away from "People Experiencing Homelessness" being applied to just about everyone, when many more should be addressed as being part of the other groups which would then allow appropriate management/enforcement or at the very least tell the majority of the truth in the matter.
Why is the news trying to twist the story into metro propaganda? Metro is not the issue, the un-hinge people are. I would like to know more about the victim because something tells me it’s a domestic issue and not a random attack. If it is a domestic incident I don’t care because the victim will go back to him the moment he post bail, but if it’s a random attack that is more concerning to the public because it can happen to anyone waiting on the platform.
Cameras don't stop criminals. What does though is lead. Dosages typically ranging from 119gr to about 230gr. Dosages are generally administered at about 800fps to 1600fps.
There were two times she nearly was hit by a car but luckily she pulled her feet in just as the cars passed or they would have crushed her. Just crazy.
@bowieupland6112 Can you please provide the report that proves these findings. I use Google and it doesn't tell me this. I still don't know who is a basketball American or who Pinata Americans are. Can you please explain to me the definition. I don't know I'm a clueless Caucasian American that doesn't understand this new terminology. Will be waiting for your research findings that you have that gives these percentages. I need to know who these are so I will feel safe
@@ericclay2214 You're adorable, you troll like a princess. You should know that this platform will not allow one to upload links to statistics that are uncomplimentary to the "protected class'. If you're really an adult, and are oblivious to the reality around you, I cannot help you. I'm not here to do your research, do your own, start with FBI statistics. But my "Spidey senses" tell me that you already know all this, and are one of those who is incapable of accepting the uncomfortable truths in life.
@bowieupland6112 Thanks for calling me adorable cutie. But actually I'll be happy tp provide you my email address. In in a social economic class in college and would like to use these findings for my thesis so we can have a Conversation about this topic in class if u would like. I typed in basketball american and pinata american and nothing came up. But when I typed in what class of Americans do the most crimes it said Caucasian Americans per the Juvenile Office of Delinquency prevention a government website it days Caucasian Americans which I assume is Basketball Anericans committed over 5 million violent crimes black Americans over 1 which I assume is pinata Americans did 1 million violent crimes in 2023. So if Basketball Americans is Caucasian than u are correct. But it does not tell me who Basketball Americans vs pinata Americans are. I never heard of this term before.
And where were the "Ambassadors", much less the police? Seven minutes and from where? Too many victims on public transportation. The first and last time I rode public transportation in California was when I joined the military in 1968. I vowed then to never use public transportation again and haven't.
Listening to Carlos Rico talk about this "incident" like it's business as usual is scary. These people are so disconnected from the people they are supposed to serve. If he put as much effort in making people safe as he did that double Windsor knot in his neck tie, this might not have happened.
KTLA, please do better at holding Metro responsible. I know your parent company is Nextstar and Nextstar owns PIX 11 in NYC and that is where Monica Morales works and she does advocacy reporting when it comes to public housing. I’m sure you can do the same when it comes to Public Transit in Los Angeles.
Cameras don't prevent crimes, they show you what kind of world you live in. Soon it'll be like the video game "Watchdogs" where they can predict crimes based on heart rate and other variables and act on it as a preventative measure.
That wasn't violence on the Metro. this was violence at a metro stop. it was just as much "Violence on the Freeway" There is actually very little violence on the metro.
Camaras are a deterrent. Meaning the advertisement or fixture is supposed to discourage criminal activity. That's a whole lot different from prevention. Prevention is supposed to stop the criminals. Either a cop or able to carry your own gun. For protection!!
It’s horrible. I had to stop riding the transit because oh how bad it is. Literally ppl shooting up on the train, people having manic episodes and worse.
That’s a lie, there’s no surge KTLA, look at the buses. Look at the homeless on the buses and trains. How about they make sure everyone pays their fare.
U.S. has the worst public transportation system. They need to have security officers patrolling every station, security gate to only allow people with tickets to go through (also controls homeless people from traveling), security officers should also check throughout the train at the beginning/end stations or however often depending on how long the route is.
Gascon says rather than calling police when a crime occurs, phone a SOCIAL WORKER instead. Somehow I don't think a social worker could effectively communicate with that guy.
