Years ago I used a homemade soap with aloe juice and loved it. After that I make most of my soaps with full aloe juice. My last soap i made I used half aloe and oat milk. Beautiful soap.
The cucumber skin has many benefits - it’s hydrating, contains many nutrients - including Vit A, and is chock full of antioxidants. Leaving it on will also add the lovely, natural green colour to your soap 😊
I love watching your videos and have learned so much from you. You are truly an inspiration to those of us just getting going with soaping. You are a jewel to share your recipes....Many thanks....
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us. I've wondered about using fresh additives, tallow, and aloe for a while now!:) so informative and absolutely beautiful!❤
Oh wow I made the same kind of soap a couple of months ago but I juiced and frozen the cucumbers in place of my water along with coconut milk. It came out very creamy and very lathered. As always, I love how your swirls come out.
Thank you so much for your videos. I just love how you explain things and the science behind what you are doing. Beautiful soap, I will have to try cucumber puree. Bless You!
This is wonderful seeing that you always try different additives and find you enjoy it. I use many of the same things you do in my HP soap! They give so much skin loving qualities I love! I hate you closed shop but thankfully I was fortunate enough to grab some before you sold out!! I've already used the " love you" soap and I absolutely love the quality of your soap!! The fragrance and creamy lather is amazing!! I have tried a lot of handmade products and I have to say yours is one of the best ever!! Be proud of yourself and if u ever see the opportunity to open shop again you'll have a regular customer with me!! May you & your husband's journey through health concerns get better through prayers! I've been devastated here lately with my own children's health so hopefully through prayers and love may everyone get better...God bless!
Where did you get your scale? I looked on your Amazon shop and in the links, but don't see that listed...thanks! Love your channel, and thanks for continuing to be teaching on RU-vid!
Love it! I have some tallow I purchased to make shaving soap which was an epic fail. But I needed to use up the remaining tallow, so I’m going to give this a go. I don’t have any cucumber and the roads are iced over right now, so I’ll have to skip that part. But yours looks amazing! Phenomenal lather too! Thanks Ellen!
I actually made a cucumber and aloe soap last week. I used a juicer on the cucumber and did a 50% cucumber juice and 50% aloe juice for the lye liquid. The liquid turns orange after adding the lye but turns back to green afterwards.
Love this! I made a cucumber mint soap in the past and added mint on top as well:) I want to try a facial soap in this scent! I think it will be wonderful for spring! Thank you for your videos! I always love them!
I love watching your videos! Do you have a video on how you prep your work station before you start making a batch. Im almost ready to start my first batch. You mention prepping. Just want to make sure I start off on the right foot. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have done cucumber soap before, but I squeezed the juice out and froze it for my liquid. I use the peelings, dry them and infuse in my olive oil. I will try your way to purée the meat of the cucumber! Great video Ellen.
Love this soap the colours are gorgeous, will definitely have to have a go at making this soap.Wow ! Look at thevlather on that soap.Thank you for sharing 😊xx
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I will definitely try this recipe, with papaya from my mother's garden. Finally, i have some braveness & courage to try making soap using fresh fruit & vegetable. 4.5% x weight of your soap = maximum amount of fresh food ingredients to add on in your cp soap. Nice info by the way. Tq. ❤❤❤
Gorgeous lather!❤🧼 I'm going to give cucumber mint a try. I have frozen watermelon, coconut water, goat milk, aloe and mango. All stuff i processed last summer for soap making. I just haven't made anything in a while. But your videos always inspire! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a cucumber mint from another supplier and it's the choice for an esthetics salon I have my products in. I am going to try the cucumber puree. Have a wonderful weekend !!
A great video as always. I was hoping to learn about adding sodium lactate and you didn’t use it this time! If you are using it, do you add it to the water after the sugar is dissolved but before the lye? Beautiful soap by the way! I love the swirls! 🧼❤️🥒 I will definitely try this recipe! 😊👍🏼
Lovely❤❤❤ as usual. This green color shade looks so beautiful😍 I have never made a cucumber soap, it's still in my 'to do' list 😊That aloe cucumber combination should really be amazing. I have a question, could I sift the cucumber purée through a cheesecloth to then add it to the oil mix? ... This is what I do when I make aloe juice (from my mama's garden fresh aloe vera plants) Thank you very much for sharing another excellent video❤🙏
If you change the oils, you'll need to run them thru soap calc to make sure your lye is correct. Here is a video with tallow free formulas: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SO5n4uWEVO0.html
Thank you!!!! I made one of the 4 recipes you share ,two had palm oil and the other 2 no palm oil. I did the vegan one and loved it. I keep using it with different addives. Thanks from Texas
I am getting ready to use the triple tall skinny mold!! It says it holds 170 oz. What size do you make your bars? I've never used a log splitter & I'm nervous about setting it up for correct measurements. LOL! I think I read that I should get 30 bars out of it.
I don't fill mine to the very top, so I can texture the soaps and still put the lid on. I cut my bars thick, so end up with 24 5+ oz bars and end slices for samples.
I'm definitely going to try this. Can I ask a question? I know you out the tea on the top but could you grind the tea and mix it in the soap as an exfoliant rather than on top?
Have yet to make my first batch of soap😂but have been watching videos for months. Not sure if I missed it, what happened to the other four ounces of cucumber? Was it puréed and added to the lye solution? Sorry if this is a dumb question:/
If you change an oil in a CP recipe, it's a new recipe and you'll need to run the numbers thru soap calc. Here is a video with several different recipes you might like: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SO5n4uWEVO0.html
I have noticed some soap makers using tallow lately. I don’t think I could feel clean using that. I not sure about this? The other ingredients are wonderful!
Hi i love your videos thanks for sharing, this looks beautiful. How can i scale this down i wouldn't want to make huge batches like you do as it would be just personal use for family really. Do i just half the recipe in the description its a massive batch too big for me.
@ellenruthsoap I was wondering about you handling the soap even after it set up. So many others make it sound like it is not safe to handle until it has cured for 4 weeks to handle without gloves?.?
How can we do this with just buying a soap base and melting it? (Cold pressed pour bar) I don’t want to deal with chemicals with little ones around. Do you have an email?
@@EllenRuthSoap can I do this with any of your recipe using the cold pressed poor? I’m trying to find way to bring a little income with me homeschooling and all.
I can hardly wait to get this recipe started. Still in my freeze phase🤦🏼♀️ Im thinking why do l need to go to all these calculations when l have you to follow for my soaps and such. Not like l'm planning to sell. Just family/ friends gifts
