Hi Ellen! The correct pronunciation is "ku-pu-a-ssu" and the correct writing is Cupuaçu. The letter "ç" has the sound of ss in Portuguese, like kisses 😉
Ellen, I started watching your channel because I searched for a diy about a month ago for a body butter and from all the videos I found, to be honest with you, yours was the one that made me want to actually try to make it. As of now I have tried probably 4 or 5 different recipes from you including this one, and OMG I am so glad I did, I’m in love with the way it feels and for the scent, my daughter chose cherry blossom, but I only have essential oils as of now. It’s delicioso!!!! I’m so in love with the texture. But really is not only that, you make the videos very easy to follow, as a beginner in this area I was able to make the salt hand scrub, the body butter, I think also the bath salts I tried but those I prob did something wrong because it never dried on me lol 🤪 but is fine, and this one which I’m in complete ahhh!!!! About it!!! Thank u for taking your time to teach the way u do your products. And yes you do look very young, isn’t that awesome, jeje 😊 same here, I’m 47 and one time I had to push my emergency button for EMS to come and the guy when he ask for my DOB he couldn’t believe me. He thought I was 25 lol he made my pain go away for a split second. The Joy and happiness that comes from our hearts makes us feel and look younger!!!! God bless u!
I tried this today and swapped out the rosehip for another oil and did cetearyl alcohol and it came out wonderful!!! So silky! Letting it sit for a few days to make sure there’s no separation
Girl, you do such a great job. I feel you have one of the very best cosmetic tutorials on u tube. I would make a suggestion. One needs to put the water phase into the oil phase. That way, there is less liquids and fats lost. Keep up the great work
Ellen all I use is my trusty hair dryer I bought many many years ago. Got it at goodwill for &2.00. I even por a video long ago on my IG. It works! . I told you when you made the sopa. That cupuacu is miraculously better than many other butters and Kokum oh my words. I changed my formula from Shea to Kokum and didn’t tell my daughter anything. She came home and said did you write the recipe down mom? Of course I answered and she replied I don’t want nothing but this lotion until summer comes! It’s that 😊 Thank you Ellen!
I made a tiny 50g batch of this last night following the recipe exactly. It was a fun challenge measuring out such small quantities of all the different oils. The recipe made like a dream, so smooth with every last drop scooping easily out my mixing jug into my waiting amber jar. The finished body butter is lovely and thick just how I like it, and yes it goes on like silk and absorbs right into the skin with no greasiness! My butter took on a lovely warm yellow colour as soon as the rosehip oil went in. I love it and decided to add Bergamot as my scent. Will definitely be making this again and have fun playing with different oils and butters next time. Thankyou for sharing with us😃
Hello madam, I really thank you very much for the recipes that you give us because it is not easy to find good products in supermarkets and in perfumeries it costs a real fortune. Best regards. Rosalie
I’m still very new to making bath products I make for my own use and not to sell. I’ve learned so much from you, and I wanted to say thank you for sharing some recipes, for people like me.
Oh my gosh Ellen! This is going to be a decadent body butter!!!! Rose hip oil is fabulous for the skin. You do not look to be in your late 50s. Your skin is beautiful and very young looking! Thanks for bringing us along! Cheers 👍💕🤗
Absolutely luxurious! It’s actually cupuasoo. In languages like French and Spanish there’s a little symbol that looks like a 5 cut off at the top that’s added under the c. It tells you that the c is a soft c. You may or may not have noticed some spellings of this word have that cut off number 5 under the c. Love your videos.
Thank you Ellen for another wonderful lotion making, you are so sweet to share your adventures and recipe with us. Love your teaching and the easy way you go about it. Can wait to try this recipe for me and my daughters!! Love you Ellen!! May God bless all your days together with your family.
Love your lotion recipe will definitely be trying this one expecially with those butters.I would never have thought you were in your late 50 you look absolutely stunning😊xx
Miss Ellen, My family and I are in love with your emulsified body butter. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe!! Do you think I could use black castor BUTTER in place of one of the other butters or maybe use it in place of the glycerin?
I love rose hip oil. I had bought and used a rosehip and sea buckthorn face oil years ago that I would love to replicate. I need to find some of that cupuacu butter and give it a try. Love your videos
Loved the video. As I always say you give us so much information it’s so relaxing watching your videos. I’m going to try this recipe for this size, and then I’ll triple it to make a bigger batch. Thank you so much, love you Ellen.
Id give anything to be a friend or family to be able to try this amazing cream!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 I don't make soap or anything for the body just here for the content i love your videos!!!
Afternoon Ellen!! So I decided to make this recipe and I multiplied all ingredients by 5 and all is still simmering as I type. Can I transfer the water and oils to a larger pitcher to mix? I am guessing it is fine..lol I wanted to make enough for my farmers market this Saturday. Will make a few batches if this works out for sure! As always you rock!!
Hi Ellen! Thanks so much for sharing this video, I can’t wait to try it. I saw that you weighed your oils & butters all in one place, do you think it would be a big difference if separately weigh out each ingredient and then add together?
@@EllenRuthSoap Tysm! I appreciate your speedy response. I was a bit worried about if an amount was overweight, it could be a task trying to get it out. 😬😅 Congratulations again on your RU-vid award!! Simply the best 🥰❤️
Hi Ellen, I love your videos. You are a wonderful teacher. I’m just wondering if you use any DIY facial moisturizers and if so, would you be willing to share? You have beautiful skin!
I use my emulsified body butters (both recipes) on my face and this cream for around the eye area: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-okAdT_QmoS4.html
Has anyone ever today you you look like one of the X-Men actresses? The lady with the red hair, I think she's called "Jean Grey" Frame Janssen 😊 You look more beautiful everytime I watch your videos.
Thank you so much for this recipe, I made it and I'm in love!! If I wanted to make this recipe with 35% total in butters and oils would I need to reduce the emulsifier? I also want a thicker lotion. Thank you!
@EllenRuthSoap I recently tried this emulsified body butter recipe and it turned out the best one ever! Thank you for sharing your talents. I do have one question, if I double the body butter and the oils in this formulation and leave the distilled water and glycerin proportion the same, will the body butter turn out thicker? If yes, should I also double the emulsifier proportion or should I keep everything the same except the butter and oils for a more thicker creamy texture? Appreciate your inputs here. Thank you 😊 I plan on making this for Christmas gifts this year.
Ellen, I know you make oat water for lotions but I cannot recall if you have used it for soap? I was going to give it a try but I’m not as experienced of a soap maker as you and would feel better if you think it would be ok! 😂 As in replacing some of the water with oat water. I want clear looking soap so was going to skip the colloidal oats. Thanks!
CaPooahchoo 😂. I had to ask someone who is native to Ghana. I started making soap because of you and my basic soap base contains a LOT of butters, also inspired by you. Thank YOU!
Hi Ellen I tried this I love it. I used 3 different butters. I want to make a bigger batch. I'm thinking if I x's this by 10 if that's the way to get a bigger batch.
Hi Ellen I love all your video!! 🌹🌹It Is better to use 70% alcool to sanitize the surface the water help the alcool to do is job ;-)) And s like the other one say you look splendide.
Ur absolutely beautiful. No one believes me that I’m 47 yrs old. I’ve had a skin care routine since I’m 12. I don’t have lines at all not even when I raise my eyebrows or smile. I make sure I’m hydrated and I do not sleep on my face at all. I make body butter. True body butter and I have ppl contacting me all the time asking for my recipe which to me that’s ridiculous. It’s my best seller so I don’t why anyone would except a company to hand over a recipe that I worked on for over 2 years. I spent thousands of dollars to protect this. It’s a true body butter and I don’t use water or E wax or a lot of the chemicals ppl put in their emulsified body butter lotion. This looks stunning. But, I don’t just whip a butter together with a little bit of oil. Cause that’s nasty and anyone can do that. My son has horrible eczema on his hands and so does my husband and my other son however, my oldest he has mild Asperger and like me he does not like certain textures he cannot stand to have something greasy on him. He would rather his nipples cracking bleed before the sun greasy was my guinea pig for over two years. That’s why I named after him, and finally, I had the right oil essential oils temperatures exactly how long to whip it which believe it or not takes a very long time. I can see by looking at it when it’s ready if you take my body butter and I have displayed this on my TikTok and you put it on there’s no shine. There’s no oil there’s no shine. There’s no grease literally rubbing on and hand and it’s in your skin. So I use letters, beeswax starch, hard oil liquid oil that’s been infused for six weeks. I use my old like the Egyptians so it takes six to 8 weeks I am my essential oils by the drop. I literally count each drop , vitamin E and a preservative and then as I said temperatures make a huge difference and I whip it makes a huge difference. I promise you it is not greasy whatsoever. So that’s how I’ve been doing it all these years. I did change two butters out well actually I had Shea butter cocoa, butter, and mango butter, and it seems like I don’t know if I’m the only one that’s noticed this shape, butter and mango butter since the pandemic has been horrible so easily never had a problem with it until the last couple years I don’t know why it’s not so I changed out all three of those and I use cacao butter and Kokom butter and it’s perfect absolutely perfect.
Hello Ellen I made your oatmeal body lotion I love it♥️ I want to make this butter I only have optiphen plus can you tell me the amount to add ? Thank you ♥️
You are such a great teacher! Is there a preservitive that you know of that is more I'll say "natural" for lack of a better word. I want to make some lotions for my family and I but my mom has psoriatic disease and a huge list of ingredients she can't use. I've tried doing some research, but without purchasing a bunch and testing, I wouldn't know for sure. Just didn't know if you have one you like? Or know that works well. Thank you in advance 😁
Do you give a tutorial on how to start a skincare business I been making my own body butters and radiant skin oil for years for personal use and my family but I want to start selling and don’t know how to begin
Hi Ellen! Question...after the cool down phase where you added in the preservatives, how much time passed before you bagged and started piping in the jar? Is there a specific temp it should reach before bottling? Thanks!
Wow I’ve always wanted to learn how to mix butters in to make a more lotion type product, thanks so much!!! Quick question if I wanted to make a larger batch do I just multiply each ingredient by how many more bottles I’d like to make, what’s the best way to make a larger batch?
Does the gram of water have to be precise or can it be approximately? Is it possible to use less water, more butter and oil? Thanks in advance for your reply?
When we make butter without water, does it go in the fridge to cool? When we make it with water, then we immediately beat it? It's not the same, is it?
If I were to add active ingredients like alpha arbutin or lactic acid, do I have to remove the percentage of active ingredients from the percentage of water or how do I add those in the formula?
Thanks Ellen great video as always! Gonna finally be brave and copy cat you tomorrow.. Q: Can I substitute butter ingredients if don’t have all the fancier butters? Is there a super fat % needed to calculate like in CP soap? Thanks again for sharing! -Momo
Hi Ellen The Rice Bran Oil, can it be any like unrefined, pure, etc. I'm trying to get all my supplies so that I can make this body butter. Many thanks
