Missed the most crucial thing. Reastream will not show up in the filter list in OBS if you don't have the .dll in the correct folder. SONAR/Cakewalk user here since -99. It has to be in one of the following: C:/Program Files/Steinberg/VstPlugins/ C:/Program Files/Common Files/Steinberg/Shared Components/ C:/Program Files/Common Files/VST2 C:/Program Files/Common Files/VSTPlugins/ C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins/

My audio hacks in playback when I play the video. only from the sound going through the plug. Not my mic. use 44.1 on both applications. What do you think could be wrong? I asked Greg, but without success.

This is hard. You said "click on Cubase". But how do I click on Cubase? How do I record? If I go on Cubase I lose OBS and vice versa. Theres a procedure segment missing. I dont know what streamyard is btw. Is having it important?

honest question? doesn't this degrade the audio from the daw? because it is on my end on both my apollow twin x and scarlett 2i2 when i do it this way... it really does, and my apollow twin x is brand new and when i use it alone just when i'm making mixing music alone not recording obs with re stream they both apollo and scarlet work well. why is this? you know theres a way youy can use 2 audio interfaces to achieve this as well?

After doing everything as the video says, I'm getting a clicking sound in my recordings whenever the input from Cubase comes in. Does anybody know anything about it?

can never get ReaStream to work in Cubase 10. Win10-64 bit. on my win7 machines it worked, but crashed every time I unloaded it. Best solution for me was using the hardware Loopback feature. ReaRoute works great for Reaper. On my win7 machines ReaStream worked fine in Reaper, yet crashed in Cubase, yet on my win10 machines, ReaStream will not work at all. Why do companies have to make this so awkward? Would be great to have the audio from Cubase (my main work DAW for clients) go into OBS. any ideas, or comments, (please don't mention that awful Banana stuff! lol) then let me know folks.

Hmm, my Reastream plugin in OBS isn't picking up any signal. -I have reastream on the master bus of my DAW (studio one) -I have it set to local broadcast and default -I have a "filter" of reastream in OBS on the input audio, set to receive audio, on default. -I have an unused input selected (7/8 on my interface) But the meter on the reastream receiver inn OBS isn't moving. Why might this be? Firewall issue maybe?? I don't get it

i discovered a new solution to seperate the cubase track and vocal track from each other (cubase vocal track not the obs one) without any fucking banana meeter gay shit!!!!! i spent days to figure it out!!!!!! tears of joy dropped from my eyes, I'm dedecating 5 min to those who suffered like me. do everything you saw on youtube (putting the standalone plugin on the stereo out and then insert it again in obs on the voice input exactly like the video) the only problem is that your mic in cubase will blend in the steroout - so in order to separate it, press fucking F3 in your keyboard in cubase and create a fucking new stereo out ( you vocal audio track in cubase route it to the new stereo out you just created) and do the same prosses again (both in cubase and obs ) the only problem left here is that obs trigers your mic signal even if cubase is not running, and you cant disable it for god sake! - so what idid is I went to my PC sound settings- and I lowerd the volume of my mic interface to 0 ( it didn't affect the cubase at all!!!!! it only affected the obs unsdisabable signal!) thinking outside the box baby lets go What can you do with the IP option? For example could i stream my laptop to my studio PC (same LAN or how about across the net?) and therefore to it's monitoring options? Has anyone tried or does that? Could be incredibly useful. 🧡

Didn't work with Windows 10, UAD TWIN USB - until I created a Audio Output Capture with the device set to Universal Audio Twin USB then applied the VST 2 filter - works perfectly now.

Hey guys, so I'm using this with Studio One, and when I play my guitar it's still picking up the clean signal directly into my interface ON TOP of my SO audio.... how do I fix this? Is that what the voicemeter plugin is for?

at today AUGUST 31 2022 there is no other solution than a shitty outdated free plugin? HELLO PLUGIN DEVELOPERS? MAKING ANOTHER 1176 EMULATION!! HELLOOOO!!!

Mind that OBS only reads plugins from C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins so your DAW must use this folder.

Thank you SO MUCH! This is ten times easier than that silly voicemeeter route that I kept running into. I actually already had the reaplugs installed for the eq and compression since OBS filters aren't up to par imo.

I was trying to solve why the signal of the VST wasn't getting into OBS, and you were the only one saying select an audio source that you're not using" NOT default! but one that you're not using including your soundcard

Great but I got a echo on my guitar track in cubase (Line in, monitoring). Any idea how to solve this. Tried lots of things, disabling devices in OBS. Nothing works.

SO Awesome. Wish and the video appears. Here's a fun bonus idea for reastream. Use it to send a modular VST on one computer, as audio to your other PC, so you can play and harness the full CPU power of Computer #1 to run a giant virtual modular patch, then record that to your DAW. Working In the box, becomes "in the boxes".

I've used it for over a year now and the biggest issue i always have is when i put it on, it never receives audio in OBS until i restart my 2 programs and open them in a specific order... still can't remember which one i have to open first.

@Chris Selim - Mixdown Online hello bro from Greece. How did you overcome Cubase from taking control of the Asio driver. When working on Cubase and using reastream to stream on Kick i loose the sound on Chrome or any browser. Any solution ?

Hi Chris, Thank you very much for this video. I had a bit of trouble initially, as I am using a USB microphone (Blue Yeti) and an Audient id14 II and headphones. I had no inputs/outputs I wasn't using, so tried a vast array of different settings, including loopback, which didn't work, then lastly I downloaded, installed and disabled all of VoiceMeeter except the Aux Output, and used that as per your video, then it worked. I will be able to stream CakeWalk by Bandlab for Zoom singing lessons and for RU-vid streaming in a month or so. Bit of a challenge, but got there in the end, so thank you. :)

it doesn't work for me... I selected send on the plugin on ableton's side, and receive on obs side and at first it lighted up and worked, but it didn't appear in the audio mixer so in your tutorial I see you have it as output capture so wanted to redo it, same settings, but it's only lighting up in ableton and not obs

I'm trying to record my Reason 10 DAW & no matter how I configure the settings, I cannot get audio in my recordings....I am using a Presonus AudioBox iOne. Oddly enough...if I open up a stand-alone version of a VST, I have audio in my video. I love the OBS Studio...but it's a nightmare to understand.

This worked for me at one point but now Cubase is still sending the signal but the instance of Reastream on OBS audio input channel is not receiving the signal. And the names are exactly the same. It's just glitching or something. IDK if the problem is coming from OBS or Reastream

My microphone is connected to the same output as my DAW. When I record, my microphone is recorded only on the left side and it's at a much lower volume than the music. Is it possible to record them separately? I am just using an interface where both my DAW (output) and my mic are going to.

Hey Chris I have a question this plugin runs really weird.. there is no way to control the volume .. it receives all levels at max volume and clips even though I have all my faders turned down.. know of any work around by chance?

My reastream on OBS suddenly stopped working after an overnight Windows update. I had to cancel a stream a half hour before. Do you or anyone have any ideas of what to troubleshoot for? I have done many things. I blame Bill. 😣

It doesn't work on my system with Bitwig Studio 5 and Antelope Zen Q.... I should may be install Voicemeeter even if I don't need to use it.

I have no unused audio devices, and as such it seems i cant get audio from cubase as OBS is still picking up the stereo audio from my mic and guitar DI. Is there a way around this?!?!?!

i don't see reastream in my OBS vst 2 plugins on windows 10?

I recently switched to Win11 and now the ReaStream plugin in OBS no longer receives any audio from my daw. It worked perfectly fine on Win10. Has anyone had the same problem and was able to solve it?

Followed these steps exactly and unfortunately this is not working for me. ReStream shows audio on my masterbus, but not registering audio on the OBS plugin side. Will likely just use loopback on my UFX+...

I am problably the only one in the whole world where it is NOT working.. big crackling bad sound. Totalmix should be able to do this, but that program is so bad....

Did everything exactly and it wont work. I can see that OBS is picking up the audio from Cubase, but its not being heard in my stream. It works with working. Also my audio does a crunching noise every second (not Cubase audio, but this video I had in the background and my friend talking to me).

I have a big problem on my hand I have tryed anything voicemeter and also this showed in your video any audio source don'ts comes from obs studio I don't know what to do the obs studio records only the desktop audio but when I record inside my DAW (PROTOOLS) nothing comes up. I think there is a driver issues in windows.

Idk what I did wrong, but the VST isn't showing up, there are other VST's showing up, Kontakt, OMEGA Ampworks etc showing, but not this one

This method was working fine for me untill today..i dont know what caused it..i remembering updating my interface driver along with windows updates and also the Latest version of OBS few days ago..

You'd think that a DAW would create a virtual audio device for each output bus. I wonder why they don't?

This works well but sometimes it disconnects from itself and then obs gets no audio. I've tried putting it on an unused input device, asio input and output devices in obs and It still disconnects. Any help?

OBS crushes when I pick reastream. I work in reaper and had to transfer reastream dll to steinberg/Vst in order to get it to appear in OBS filters. Don't know what to do since their filters guide doesn't cover the issue. pls Help mi kind people

I discovered this solution last year and it's been my nearest attempt to perfection I've only had one issue though... I tried to use it to stream my guitar into OBS since I use several plugins and VST for my guitar tone, and even using this VST I get a sliiiiiiight bit of latency I can't seem to solve with the offset settings, on the audio config... My PC is more than capable of running low latency stuff, is there anything I may be missing?

Hi Chris, thnx for al the video's. Always OK with them. Now however i have a problem with the OBS part. The Reastream is not showing in the "filter vst2 list. All my other plgs are. The Reastream is working in the Stereo Out of Cubase Pro11. What do i miss, do not or do wrong ?? Thx in advance
