So much hate here. Kristin did nothing wrong. They were at an impasse, and staying there would be dangerous for everyone involved. There is something to be said about the mentality in general of climbers and guides alike, that they do not cancel the assent when accidents occur. I would not have continued the assent in her place - once out of the impass - the record would mean nothing anymore. But she does not deserve people wishing death on her. Karma and all..

I've read a lot of articles from experienced mountainclimbers about this incident. It would have taken 5-6 of them to initiate a rescuing mission. She gave lead so it was HER call. They threw a party afterwards. DIS-GUS-TING from A-Z. Burn in hell Kristin
This is a woman who chose to continue up the mountain when a member of her team was dying and needed to be taken back down the mountain. She shouldnn't be an inspiration to anyone except aspiring lawyers.
If it really was as it looks like now. - Shocked by all these climbers who don't care about that dying man, climbing over him while he dies only caring about reaching a f.. g goal. . Really saddening.

Selfish, very selfish. You would have gotten more respect and inspired more girls if you had actually stopped and helped that other climber who was in trouble and eventually died.

Claiming the greatness of men while climbing on the shoulders the very same men. Would she have been able to achieve 14 peaks with only the help of women? We will never know.

It’s so sad, she said she wants to support women and inspire girls, she did the exact opposite. She also was only able to do this with the help of her sherpa which was Nims original intent for 14 peaks - to show that westerner can’t climb without the Sherpas
In some area the difference is ridiculous. Like sponsorships , particular in many different sports. As a man I don’t care to much I have to admit. However, getting sick of someone pointing out the fact is just pathetic and sad. If you don’t raise the topic nothing will ever change. Everything in history is driven by pioneers. People with a voice must use it , otherwise it becomes wasted.

She was just climbing a mountain, a very dangerous one, but she was just climbing a moutain. She wasn't a combat medic who risks their own life by parachuting into a was zone trying to save injured soldiers. She could have called off the climb and a got the whole team to try and save the guy, even if was dying. They could have got his body down the mountain if they really tried.
"Kristin did nothing wrong" - well, let me rephrase it to "Kristin did nothing"....except for merrily celebrating a pointless record. Absolutely shocking!
