Over the years I've collected/ripped so many of my fav tv shows/movies and put them on my Plex here at home... I almost NEVER watch streaming... but there are times when I want to record something....to SAVE and put on Plex... for example: There's a TV show a channel is airing right now.. That show has 5 seasons but only 1 of them has been released on DVD... And even worse... it's rare to see it in syndication. My jaw dropped when I saw it was on a certain channel... so I'm DVR'ing it.... I just need to figure out how to record it... I know I can screen record it...but I'd rather use a capture card or something like this... then do my own editing of the files I record.... I just looked these up... Holy moly... $275
@SUPERDELL-TV .. very nice, but you need an external monitor to view ... If it had a screen on it , I would buy it .. Idk , we shall see 👀 .. Side Note : DigitNow needs to make another updated device , and add 4K , and add 16GB record option , so you don't get multiple files and need to edit / stitch the files together to make 1 file ..
So it seems that this is the best for lower cost recording streaming or live IPTV (legal version of course), and if you want the built in screen, you can buy the Unisheen one, which is more expensive but has a screen built in. Am I right?
@SUPERDELLTV thanks for not bna snob like alot of Reviewers are . Another fun thing to do is use this to upscale lower resolution videos . For instance I play a DVD Which is 720X480p and Record it in 1920X1080p using cloner alliance and it actually makes it now look better than before . Just something fun the play around with . I'm still experimenting with this fun idea .
So, follow up. I got one of these last month, but I’ve been frustrated by the low quality of footage I’ve been able to record from an AppleTV (not 4k version) or BluRay player. Whenever I move my footage up my computer, the file has tons of artifacts and color banding (definitely not what I see on my TV). Do you have any advice?
Sometimes I have to take my flash drive out and plug it back in because you'll watch the video 1 time and it'll play fine and another time and it want Play fine Or I Just Take the flash drive to my computer and it'll play back without any issues . Also sometimes it will not show a video that I just watched but I take it to my computer and the video shows up on the drive . So it's some Glitches and a little learning curve to this device .
Also I have to use the highest bite rate or the recorded video has screening taring and other artifacts that make watching recorded videos 100 % not enjoyable
Got three questions. And you are the most current channel discussing this ClonerAlliance Box Pro. Sometimes the USB stick doesn't record after I press record. Not sure why but nothing appears on the USB stick after I was recording 5 hours. Today it failed to record what I wanted. The USB stick had no files. Secondly how to do you set up a timer? Have no clue. Since you can only use a USB stick to record it can run out of space. I moved from 64 GB to 126 GB of space. What happens is the recording is split into clips. How can you rejoin them into a file? I also want to add that you can't record the screen of a smart TV. Only can connect boxes and streaming sticks to record the content. So I have a TCL Roku TV. Only recording a Firestick with the Cloner Box. Thanks.

....Another Cool Thing You Can Do With This Is Record An Original DVD Which Is 720X480p Into Say 1920X1080p ETC By Chosing 1080p As Your Record Resolution . ....I Did This And It Makes A DVD Video Now Look Better . ....Just Something Fun And Cool To Play Around With If Your Into That .
What i read on the directions is that to do playback of recorded file you have to name it REC- (plus the name) which is a pain in the ass if you already have other content on other storage that you would like to play on the Cloner Alliance, is their away around this if so ?
