Very good review, J-Chip! Fun fact about this show. The idea for this story was originally from a D&D seasons that were retold as a manga. As someone who started his roleplaying journey playing games like AD&D and TSR Marvel Superheroes, this show gave that feeling. I knew players that would play there characters just like the ones in the show. I could relate to Parn and his companions. Thanks for taking a moment to watch the OVA and doing a review. I really enjoyed it.
Finally an objective evaluation to this anime here on youtube, thanks! Parn is such a bad main character. He didn't accomplished shit the entire show! Like he didn't even defeat Ashram, it was the evil wizard. Losing every battle and getting his ass saved all the time by mc armor. WHAT DID THIS GUY EVEN DO THE ENTIRE SHOW? Oh and the ending itself defeats the entire message of "where light exists, so will darkness". YEAH BUT AT THE END LIGHT PREVAILED! Completely destroys the ying yang philosophy. Ashram should've stayed alive and both saving Deedlit from Kardis' ressurection. 7/10, and I am evaluating having in mind this is 1990. No other high fantasy anime up to that point. Dunbine can't compare as an example. If anyone reading want a better anime that is fantasy of the early 90s, watch Magic Knight Rayearth.
