Hi!! Ah Thank you so much! The Usis are absolute fantastic and for under 120 USD it's a no brainer. Very reasonable and high quality! But don't use it to record loud sound effects. They super sensitive.Also windjammers are recommended. I just got the magnets and go out tonight recording street ambience with it. I just looked and they on pre order now because they just always on demand.

@@FreeToUseSounds haha yeah I waited for a few months when they were last on preorder but when they arrived I was actually blown away with how good they were for the price! I'm honestly probably going to buy a few more sets and stock up so I can risk putting a pair in weird places haha. I found a good way to attach mine to the brim of my hat for quasi-binaural recordings. So that's your first "Behind the sound" video i couldn't find at first! No wonder, the phrase is only found in the video itself, not in the title or description ;) I have to immediately start nitpicking / commenting on little details again, you know me, i can't help myself, haha! I only want to make you better though. I don't know if you should even polish and correct everything, there's a certain charm to the way you say things, like 1:20 "rumble rumble rumble" (Rumble in the Jungle)... of course you meant "ramble", but if you had pronounced it correctly, i wouldn't have had that big grin on my face! 2:10 In English, microphone is always abbreviated "mic", never "mikro" like in German (BTW mikro is Greek for "small"). Since this is an important term that may come up often in your videos, i'm rather telling you this now, at the risk of being pedantic. Just think of "mic check, one two one two". They never say "micro check" ;) It's an amazing stealth setup you got there. And it's actually a great concept, to be intently listening to the sounds you're surrounded with. I do it half-intentionally, as in, when i walk somewhere, i don't put in earbuds and listen to music or a podcast, it feels to isolated from the world. I rather hear the natural sounds as i walk. Of course, you're taking it to a whole nother level, and it's great to see the passion and knowledge you have!
@EatAway
@EatAway 4 года назад
Ha Ha! I love it and I will hopefully keep this in mind! I guess it's part of my own personality and yes Libby tries to correct me all the time but after the third time saying things wrong, she already gave up! I am happy to that I found the passion for sound and can help so many people out there! From the young artist who just started out to Volkswagen & one of the largest post production companies in the world using my sounds already! So if you watch a movie, listen to an audio book, podcast, play a video game or even use an app, it could be possible you already have listen to many of my sounds. :)
@Mike500
@Mike500 4 года назад
That's amazing! Well, your sounds are very high quality, and you seem to have an amazing collection already, so it's all just the logical outcome of your hard work! I'm aware that i could write all this in German and would probably be a more direct communication. Do you think something in German first and then translate it to English, or can you natively think in English in your head by now? Anyway, i'm writing in English, in case Libby reads the comments too, plus it's good for English writing skills.
@EatAway
@EatAway 4 года назад
@@Mike500 Oh yes totally I can speak better and fast English then German. English is so much easier because the worlds are shorter and it makes more sense. So if we would talk I am probably to fast to understand sometimes.
@Mike500
@Mike500 4 года назад
Yes, i thought so, because you are "embedded" in the English language with Libby. That's the best way to get to native-level speaking. You can probably speak English more freely than me, because of all the speaking practice you get! But listen to Libby when she corrects you ;)

Awesome work! Just curious what you think of between the zoom h3 VR and the Roland binaural headphones? Is there a major difference?
@FreeToUseSounds
@FreeToUseSounds 3 года назад
Oh yes,. The major difference is that you wear the Roland in ear. Something you can't do with the H3VR. So everything you wear in ear gives you a much better binaural effect.
@el-bov8034
@el-bov8034 5 лет назад
Is there a huge amount of difference between the mikroUši and mikroUši Pro?. Also, interested to know if the UšiPro is much better than either? I own a Zoom H2N, already, which would make the mikro a convenient option. Going pro would mean getting a Tascam DR-60MKIII, which is an expense and a lot of extra bulk i could do without. However, if the difference in mic's is huge then it might be something to save up for.
@EatAway
@EatAway 5 лет назад
el-bo V Hi! The only big difference is the size. Soundwise I can’t hear any quality difference but what I love about the USI Pro more are the magnets that I can attach to it. So if you don’t have a space bar it’s awesome. Do you want the XLR version?
@el-bov8034
@el-bov8034 5 лет назад
@@EatAway Hi! thanks for getting back to me. I've been looking for comparisons in sound between the two models(on the same source, at the same time, for example), but not come across any. The problem is that the examples I seem to find show the micro's covering really loud sounds e.g waves crashing around, and the pro's being used to showcase the delicate stuff e.g music-boxes, the demo on the Lom site etc. I do want the ability to handle the loud, external ambient sounds, but also be able to get close/macro on household items. I was originally interested in the micro's because I can put them to immediate use with a Zoom H2N that I own. Of course, the lack of xlr becomes an issue if I decide to upgrade to a better recorder, or when I get a new audio interface (Next year). All of this to say that it might make more sense flexibility-wise, and financially, to go fro the pro model and switch out the cable to 3.5mm for being out and about with the little recorder. The only downside here is the size. Such confusion! Haha! I am also in contact with the developer. Hopefully I can convince him to shoot a couple of side-by-side photos, for size comparison; Even better, some side-by-side audio :D Thanks again for your help!
@el-bov8034
@el-bov8034 5 лет назад
Actually! Watching the video again, I can see that the pro model is still a perfectly useable size. I am curious, though: You say that for incognito in quiet spaces you'd normally go for the micro's, but in this case you went for the pro's. What factors determined that decision. I'd be interested to understand more about what influences your decision to use either model i.e different use-cases. I can't afford both (maybe in future), so I am trying to cover as many bases/use-cases as possible. I don't want to be too much of a drain on your time, but any hints would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
@SoundSpeeding
@SoundSpeeding 4 года назад
The Tascam DR60Dmk2 is dirt dirt cheap, although I'd recommend spending the little extra for the Zoom F4 which is even better! (and they're truly very compact, smaller than you think, they're very small field recorders!) But if you're really broke, then consider a secondhand Tascam DR60Dmk1? Which should be able to be found even cheaper than a mk2

@@FreeToUseSounds Yes, for Roland. Mine came without windjammers or even foam.
