@@thierrydefrance7220 ce n’est rien, pour l’anecdote elle parlait mieux français que italien dans le film "Le Guépard" (avec Delon et Lancaster) sa voix fut doublée car elle parlait mal l’italien!
Great video. The thing about RSD now days is the scalpers. It seems that the short printed records are purchased by people just wanting to put them up for 2x/3x the prices on the same day. Some great ideas though on records/sets that would be nice to have done.
I think the expanded edition of “Yessongs” is another brilliant idea from Mazzy except, one could argue, (ok, perhaps only I could argue) it really would only TRULY be deemed complete if it also included an accompanying special limited edition newly remastered 4K transfer Dolby Atmos Surround Blu Ray of Rick Wakeman’s indisputable crowing achievement “King Arthur on Ice”.
46 Willie Nelson 2022/23 album box-set... hahahahaha!! You're in fine form hahahahaha!! And, the piece de resistence - a Morrissey ultra ltd. LP w/ actor replacement cover... and then just cancel the f**king thing...hahaha (because Morrissey smelled someone bbq'ing something other than a tofu burger and threw a hissy-fit... )- Very best regards from G. in Japan, (orig. Scotland) - (first-time commenter). What a hoot of an episode, Mr. Maslov - Chapeau!
@@mazzysmusic Your sense of humour is very similar to Scottish humour. Self-deprecating; pointing out the absurd;playing w/ the absurd. But, also just very naturally mischievous in the best possible way. Way to go, Mr. Maslov. Really enjoy your channel & its content. All power to you, good Sir!
I would like to start a petition to re-release LOU REED "Metal Machine Music" in MONO!! I would also like a 3 LP of all the outtakes from that legendary recording session!!
Haha you weren’t too far off with your idea for an expanded edition of Yessongs. I am the proud owner of a box set released last year called Prodigy which is 7 complete shows (21 records) from the Close to the Edge tour in 1972 (a CD version preceded this in 2015). Much or most of Yessongs was derived from these shows. Your wish has come true…sort of.
As a former Knoxville resident, I’m slightly interested in YES at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum, where we did all our Teen Debutante Balls back in the 90s
Hilarious, Mazy! Finally, it had to be said. Pls add a comp of Various Artists non-fills, preferably non-filled on 78 schellack, with blank covers onto your wishlist 😁
We need more picture discs...just picture discs and nothing else. Also why not take really popular double albums like Blonde on Blonde and condense them to 1 LP, but include a booklet to list all the missing tracks. Wildflowers would work too. And the White album...on white vinyl with illegible labels too. Fun video 😂
That was funny, Mazzy 😅 In particular the RSD box - I too find them so superfluous unimportant - what a waste (but Chad loves them as we know - or loves selling them…). BTW - Claudia Cardinale is still living. She’ll turn 85 in April 🇮🇹
The tricky part to all this is knowing what "edition" to get. For example, I'm 60 this year so thought I'd get the 50th anniversary edition of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I did toy with getting the 40th anniversary edition on my 50th birthday but thought the 50th anniversary edition would be better. Looks like I was wrong according to the "experts" So now I think I'll wait until my 70th birthday and get the 60th anniversary edition. Then again, if I actually wait another 50 years until I'm 110 then I will be able to get the 100th anniversary edition. I hear that it will actually come with a genuine piece of the dark side of the moon. Amazing. It's a long wait though and though I feel pretty good for 60, I'm not sure if I'll be fighting fit come 110. Not sure the old hearing will be up to much either. Maybe there'll be a 100th anniversary MoFi Super Deluxe edition? We can only hope. Keep it real ✌️
Great video Mazzy....have a few of my own on my RSD wishlist 🙏🙏🙏🙏 1) Jazz More Jazz ANY Jazz!!! Saw the In Groove video this morning and we only have 23 releases coming out from Craft this week. Get Kevin and Bernie on the line and press something ....ANYTHING..... for RSD. If it has been pressed at 33 RPM....repress at 45 RPM and vice versa....get it done!! The long lost Miles Davis Montreux 1962 Jazz Festival tapes....recordings of Miles back stage smoking a Menthol and tuning his instrument....these are the much in demand hard to find tapes...rumor has it they have been found....get them and press to vinyl!!!! 2) Bob Dylan He has been releasing demo box sets to all his recent recordings....rumor has it...he has demos to the ORIGINAL demos!!!!! Find these recordings and get them pressed....3 albums, 5 albums....I don't care....make them available to the public!!!!! The Joan Baez Tapes: There is footage of her and Bob talking in the kitchen at Allen Ginsberg's house from 1963.....if this tape is out there we need to get it pressed to vinyl.....I don't care if it is marble, colored or black vinyl....just make it available to the public!!!! 3) Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon / 50.5 th Anniversary Edition: Need to press with the new 4 step process at RTI.....DSD to Analog back to DSD and then back to Analog!!! This would be the perfect album to utilize with this brand new Mastering process.....this is going to change the vinyl industry forever!!! We do not need a hype sticker saying it has DSD in the process because it is being mastered in DSD and Analog both two times which voids out any digital disclaimer needed. This new mastering process is going to be called AnaDig which is going to be the finest sound available to the human ear😍 If we can make all this happen I will the happiest "Audiophile" on April 22nd 🙏😍🍺👍🍸
I want the Box. Definitely interested in The Box But only if it is an analog box and 100% Organic Material so I can use it to store vinyl! Oh and it must be designed and hand crafted in Italy.
Now, THAT is a funny video!!! I almost fell out of my chair when the words, "I'm a great fan of Willie Nelson" rolled out of the speakers in my MBP! Of course, I AM A FAN of Waylon and Willie, and Kris Kristofferson, and the Man in Black. No apologies. Throw in the AMAZING Rhinestone Cowboy in there, Glen Campbell, too. What a talent. And... f-o-r-t-h-e-r-e-c-o--r-d... I L-U-V-B-O-T-H kinds of music... Country AND Western. Special shout out to Eric Church for his song "Springsteen". Nobody could have done that better. However, I have reservations about Johnny Cash being ALL country. He is a Sun Records artist after all. Just as I cringe to think that Elvis was making Country records... Even the gospel songs... Do they have to be country? Isn't Gospel good enough? Roseanne Cash? Now she is a talent to reckon with. Is she country? No, even when she's singing "Tennessee Flat Top Box" (about her father) she is contemporary, not country. However, falling in with the spirit(s) of this video, my RSD special would most certainly feature the Man in Black.... For sure! It would be titled something like "From Behind These Bars-Live" (a kind of nod to Neil Young's "American Stars and Bar", 1977). The cover art would be seen behind regularly spaced, about one-inch thick black lines (bars). The box set would feature ALL THE LIVE RECORDINGS of Johnny Cash singing at the various penal institutions. First, because the music is fabulous. Second, because there is kind of 'Beavis and Butthead' geek implied in the title... "Dude! He said 'Penile'!"
Record Store Day locations: The record shop address publicised ahead of the day. You get there, whatever was there was demolished long gone, it's an empty slice between tenements. There's nothing to see. But still there is a queue for it, and arguments about who was first.
I know Mazzy is goofing around here but no joke-the Beatles parlophone mono release of SPLHCB, or even better making other parlophone mono fab releases a regular thing moving fw is a complete and utter genius idea; the hysteria and chaos it would create would rocket RSD and vinyl in general into the stratosphere. Am I wrong? Ha.
Great list Mazzy ! My wishlist incl. A box with all Chris Whitley albums(most are only on cd) A.R machines #echo , David Crosby Yoyage Box on vinyl and Ry Cooder #flathead All the best from germany
I actually love RSD, especially reading like an excited little kid the list...when you first look at it, it's like candy in a sweetie shop. It's a huge collection of all forms of music. For me, I always have a top 3 records "I must get!". Unfortunately on RSD I'm on Jollyboys mates 50th in Belfast. I'm hoping there's some decent record stores there...must be right? Anyway good people & Mazzy...for me :- Alison Goldfrapp, Black Keys & Groove Armada.
Just in case you decide to bring up more 1960s sex symbols: Sophia Loren (still alive at 88), Brigitte Bardot (also still alive at 88)... Gina Lollobrigida, Raquel Welch and Generalissimo Francisco Franco (all still dead.)
Remove the gun. Okay. Let’s do songs. Lawyers, (kittens), and money Love (gum) Happiness is a warm (glass of milk) (Tons) of Brixton Ballad of a well known (dude) The man with the golden (finger) Machine (flower) Shot(gub). Where would it end?
All this talk about RSD and to be honest, I've not seen one single explanation of what the heck is going on? I've only been collecting since last August, so I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information. Just as soon as I think I understand it, then another video or Facebook post confuses me.
We’d like to see at least one RSD without a picture disc. Perfect example is that The Cure are releasing a live album on picture disc-wasted opportunity.🤬🎧
@@Anthony-fz7uf I didn’t label it RSD 2023. Take another and maybe listen to what it’s about. Do you have a sense of humor ? Do I have to explain the punch line ? 🤷🏻♂️
