Yeah there's nothing to feel sorry for, she did a great job and the musical was going to die anyway. She's happy and LBB is happy. LBB is the original, one and only Elle so everyone will be compared to her but I would consider even comparison to be flattery in this case.
I feel bad for her because she's going to constantly be compared to LBB, who is fabulous. She's also trying to stray away from being an exact copy and trying to do her own thing which will be hard considering Laura basically made this whole new character of Elle and everyone loved it.
@@kamiladelacruzmusic2617 um what? haha 1. this is from like two years ago. 2. i was just saying that she made it own in my opinion. i didn't mean it in a rude way, i meant it in a "fair enough" way .. hence the smiley face haha sorry if i offended you
I know. It’s not so much her style but I don’t think she as enough energy in this song in particular. She doesn’t seem to get as into it as I think she could. She seems like a great actress and singer but I feel like this is such a hard role! You gotta be a triple threat and frankly I feel like she didn’t pour everything into this recording. I’m sure will the visual it’s probably more energetic though
Shelbear as an aspiring actress I have gone through years of being in the ensemble/chorus and if anyone told me I should go back to the ensemble it would be heart wrenching
@@kittyfuntime8483 Tbh, I would love to be in the ensemble lmaooo, I really wanna be in the Wicked and Hamilton ensemble, I know it isn’t a lead part but I just think it’s fun. 😭😭
I don’t really understand the controversy around baileys voice, it’s incredible! She hit every note and more in this song and it was just beyond perfect! Obviously no one can be perfect and I agree she wasn’t incredible at the start of the search, but she definitely improved and she has a voice that is so close to perfect
Her voice is really nice. She's talented. She's not unbelievable. When hear her, I don't think OMG WOW SHES BETTER THAN BEYONCÉ! I just think she has a nice voice. It's pleasant and I like it.
She's unbelievably talented, I believe that she's done her own way to portray Elle. Laura Bell Bundy did this accurate mature and goofy type of it and Bailey is doing a more girly and Passionate type. Well done!!!
I actually love Bailey as Elle! tbh i dont know why there are so many negative comments, Laura is also an amazing Elle, but you cant expect her stay in the role forever. I think Bailey is just as good, and besides you cant really compare them because they both play the role slightly differently xx
+Olivia hall Yeah, I agree! I was on another video and everyone was bashing Bailey, and I came to watch this video. She's not that bad? LBB was a true star, but that doesnt mean that Bailey was terrible...
I think that if she had come before LBB, people would like her more. Bailey’s voice is more traditionally girly, and what I would except Reese’s Elle to sound like if she sang. Bailey is stellar and definitely made Elle her own, but Laura’s voice is so unique and identifiable, it’s hard for fans to differentiate her specific style from the role of Elle in general
i love LBB's interpretation but i think bailey did just as well, just in completely different styles. LBB's interpretation of the character is focused on Elle's strong personality and it's reflected in her performance. Meanwhile, I think Bailey's interpretation reflects more of Elle's feminine personality which is something every character in the story focused on. It actually reminds me of Sharpay Evans character in high school musical lol I think she'd make a great Sharpay. They both really did well~
I know Bailey personally, she is from my hometown and she graduated from the same highschool as me. I am very proud of her and I love her very much! ^-^
I think she does a better job of imitating Reece Witherspoon than Laura did. Of course, that wasn’t what Laura was trying to do, but Bailey’s interpretation of the character isn’t completely out of nowhere.
I know that Laura will always be the best Elle (on Broadway) but I really like Bailey tok and people should stop saying that she isn't as good as Laura. They played Elle differently and most people preferred Laura's interpretation of Elle but that doesn't mean that Bailey wasn't good.
I was born in early 2005, so by the time I started listening to the musical, (I was about 5, I believe. My moms a broadway buff.) Bailey had already replaced LBB. She’s my Elle Woods. I see plenty of people saying how Laura Bell Bundy is so much better (pun intended) than Bailey, but I honestly prefer Bailey because of nostalgia. Laura’s singing is better, but in every other way I prefer Bailey.
No matter what show it is, it’s always hard to follow up after the person who originated that character because their portrayal was the first and the one that everyone loves
i feel like baileys acting was outstanding but her vocals arnt amazing, laura bell is an absolutely brilliant singer so clearly its going to be hard to live up to that, however i don't think baileys voice was suitable for the part, she can only get better but laura bell was the best when she played elle, she did everything as perfect as it could be x
She's not my favorite, I just feel bad because she has to live up to the Elle Woods that Laura Bell Bundy created, and It's a hard thing to try and do.
Thank youuu!! They both are crazy talented and they sing in different ways. LBB uses a lot of soul and Bailey is more like the movie character, in the way that she is super sweet, you can hear in the way she speaks and sings!
I don't think she sounds that bad we all prefer laura but she can't stay that role her whole life I think bailey needs work on her high notes she would be perfect
Well I also agree with you. I'm a bit half and half. Reese Witherspoon will always be the TRUE Elle Woods But Laura will always be the true Elle Woods ON Broadway
Its interesting to hear all the different elle wood's do their parts ,its nice to see everyone add something different in their role ,i really like singing and acting and so its nice to see different insperation
I wish people would just stop comparing to LLB because she’s not trying to be a carbon copy. She’s trying to be Bailey as Elle, not LLB as Elle. I have a lot of respect for that.
So im learning this song for a class and ive been listening to the LBB version along with the sheet music and its been challenging for me (a novice singer taking the class for fun) to get some of the timing right. It's just an eighth note here or an ad lib there that wasn't clicking. Bailey sings this just like the sheet music. I am grateful for that, even though I prefer to jam to the original.
Just watched the Legally Blonde Search for Elle Woods and blooming LOVED it! Bailey was great tv and seemed to be a good Elle from what I’ve seen. We had Sheridan Smith on the West End and she was pretty fabulous as well. All the actresses that’ve been Elle seem to truly possess that X/It factor and pure charisma, on and off stage. Also, just caught up with the Lockdown Legally Blonde reunion and it was fascinating!
Bailey is my favorite Elle! By far. She has such an amazing voice, she’s an awesome dancer and always hits her steps, and she is a great actress! I don’t know why everyone is comparing her to LBB! She is just as good! Everyone who is saying she is terrible and “ the worst Elle “ aren’t on broadway! It’s hard enough to do Singing, Acting, and Dancing at the same time. Remember she also is wearing a wig, full makeup, a costume, mostly through the show a pair of heels, a mic, and im sure of much of other things I don’t know!
This was so good omg why does everyone have to compare literally EVERYONE who played Elle to Laura Bell Bundy? No person is the same, and everyone has different ways and techniques on how they do things like this, so I think that it's just weird
I wonder if they did professional recordings of all her songs because I would love to hear them. 😭 But I’m assuming this is more for cuts to put in their advertisements at the time.
Although I LOVE Laura Bell Bundy as Elle, I think Bailey's voice is much crisper than hers. LBB's voice had a raspier tone to it that made it sound like she was gonna lose her voice. Not hating on either of them :)
Honestly, Bailey is the kind of actress I was expecting as Elle and I like her better than LBB. I know that it isn't a popular opinion but Laura's voice is a little annoying to me, I think Bailey is much more pleasant to listen to. With that being said, LBB is forever THE Elle Woods because she was the one who created the character (for Broadway. Obviously, Reese is Elle. Forever.)
Everyone is saying not to compare her to LBB but honestly I’ve yet to see anyone do that so here I’m about to. She’s very talented but she just sounds like a typical sorority girl. I don’t relate to her the way I do LBB and that’s because there isn’t emotion behind her voice. This gave me fabulous from HSM vibes not strong women realizes her potential that she never thought possible. This paints the song like I’m excited and can’t wait to rub it into people faces. With LBB it came off like I don’t even care about Warner anymore because I have this new found confidence in myself. When LBB sings the line, “your daughters doing something right” when talking to her mom I cry every time because it’s such a strong moment where words don’t describe the pride and excited she is. In that moment all the hard work is worth it and she realizes something within herself she’s never found before. This version is just a fun I’m on the top moment. I think if this was the first version I heard I’d be ok with it but it just felt like there so so much being held back because I know the full strength version exists.
I think shes good. I mean she has this role regardless of what people think of her so I am happy for her cause she is basically living my dream. I try to day dream of her life sometimes cause that life is my dream
