Great tips in these videos thanks a lot! I've got a pair of Neumann KM184s and plan to record Beethoven's Violin Sonatas in my 2.5m high living room. My current mic stand goes up to 1.6m. Do you think that's high enough, or would you recommend a taller stand for this setup? Your advice would be super helpful!

You’ll have to try and see. 1.6 m may be a bit low, depending on how tall the player is. Also, many mic stands tend to be somewhat unstable when used at full length. Perhaps you can borrow a larger mic stand designed for drums overheads?
