Why is Records Management important in the Philippine National Police?
- Since 1991 (PNP was established), records continue to accumulate and congest in the PNP offices / units due to daily filing of transactions, services, decisions and other work related activities. Without basic knowledge and skills in records creation, maintenance, use and disposal, PNP personnel may violate the law and lose important records

- Republic Act No. 9470 and its IRR:
"AN ACT TO STRENGTHEN THE SYSTEM OF MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF ARCHIVAL RECORDS, ESTABLISHING FOR THE PURPOSE THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE PHILIPPINES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES"
- PNP Memorandum Circular No. 2022-001 dated January 11, 2022
"Guidelines and Procedures in the Disposal of Records of PNP Offices / Units"
What is a “Record”?
- “Records” refers to information, whether in its original form or otherwise, including documents, signatures, seals, texts, images, sounds, speeches, or data compiled, recorded, or stored, as the case may be
What is “Records Management”?
- “Records management” refers to the managerial activities involved with respect to records creation, records maintenance and use, transmission, retention and records disposition in order to achieve adequate and proper documentation of policies and transactions of government for its efficient, effective and economical operation

I have a financial claim in Pag.ibig Department but SERVICE RECORD is a requirement. WHERE CAN I SECURE IT? I am assigned in many different cities and municipalities. Please advise me what to do. .

Thank you your message. You can request it at your personnel and records management section of your current police station. Ithey should endorse you to the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (R1), that in turn shall coordinate with the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management. Do chrck your PAIS. Usually they know what to do.

Opo. He is an organic member of NAP at the time we did the weibnar. We invited him for this lecture as part of our endeavor to implement records management. Kami po sa RMDU at the time hosted and facilitated. The Facilitator was PMAJ MAGILAS S SALVACION, who was the chief Personnel and Records Management of the unit at the time.
