Finally after years i managed to bring back my tenda w316r router back to life... I used usb to TTL adapter but now i realized after viewing putty screen that u ppl dont need "usb to ttl adapter" it just show whats going on inside ur router...now as i have seen it all i can help all of u guys to un brick ur routers too... Step 1. Set ur laptop or pc LAN ip manually to 192.168.1.10 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and default gateway 192.168.1.1 (use wire to connect to pc via lan cable to any yellow port on router). Step 2 open up the router un screw it...we need to short 2 pins so that we can interupt the boot sequence and prepare the router to force itself to CFE mode...so that it can ask for firmware... Do not short pins again n again it will permanently destroy the memory chip...(i will tell u later which pins to short). Step3 go to RUN on PC and send ping comand i.e. ( ping 192.168.1.1 -t ) without brackets keep the ping running... it will say time out... now press and hold the reset button and power the router keep it pressed...u hav to do it quickly its about 3 seconds...leave the reset button and wait 2 seconds then quickly short the pins for 1 second ( i tell u which pins) as u already running ping watch the ping screen...u have to wait until u get ping response let say 1 or 2 minuts then ping will return with positive data...now close ping window and..now its time to open browser and type 192.168.1.1 id admin pwd admin this will open broadcom CFE and let u upload firmware...brouse the firmware file (use this one .42 not .46) and press upload...its done wait for firmware update successfull measg and router will reboot itself and back to life... Hi, I have a Bufallo WZR600dhp with a 32mb flash, what should be the hex?

I had accidentally D-Link emergency flashed DD-WRT firmware to D-Link DIR-615E4 (4MB flash) without realizing DDWRT needs more than 4MB space. Now my router WAN and 4 LAN lit even I tried to hold the "reset + power on" or normal on. I also cannot access the 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 anymore. Can I use this way for my D-Link with Atheros AR7240?

i had this TP-Link TD-W8951ND , i accidentally fashed TD-W8151N v3 rom, and now i can only access the router page via WLAN, if i change the SSID, it would let me access it again , it doesnt have those thing on the pcb that i could solder a pin on, and i also could find any pin on the pcb

I have a bricked mediatek based router (Asus RT-N12+), but no matter what I try to flash onto it, it never successfully boots Stock, padavan and tomato firmwares all get stuck on "starting kernel ..." While OpenWRT firmware gets stuck on "Calibrating delay loop... random: fast init done random: crng init done" Any help?

I have a bricked tplink Archer c7. I can still transfer the recovery firmware to the router via 192.168.0.66 tftp. But, the router still not able to save it(I think this is the word I can think of). Any suggestion to save it

if tftpd server does not work. you can use solarwind tftp server and the other servers.

I don't think you have to or even should connect the VCC pin. Just TX/RX/GND are sufficient.

Hi new subscriber sir. Can you post a guide on how to recover Comfast CF-N5 from a bad flash. Recovery mode is no longer accessible, these devices are sold like pancake in philippines since its the cheapest dual band indoor router and has a lot of storage good for custom firmwares. Hope you can make one soon. Kudos!
