Just brilliant content every single time. It’s been years since Jimmy mentioned you in a random stream and I tuned in but I’m so glad I did. Everyone rightly loves Jimmy and Super GT, but for the older gentleman your stuff is brilliant - I won’t miss yours, Daniel Morads, or Dave Cams content - Keep it coming mate and thank you. 🙏🏼

Yes! 71 laps is the proper way to race. And talking about full races, time is near we'll have Le Mans in AMS2 with multiclass races. Two or three hours long races will be a blast for sure.

Type in 'onboard Schumacher 1993' on RU-vid, and there's short videos with ford telemetry. It shows just how quick this benetton was, but also just how accurate this game is!!! The Canada video also shows schumacher pressing a button to activate his 'DRS' suspension for increased speed. Great video GP laps, great 2hrs of content, thank you .

Search Big Zeddie on youtube, he's got a terrific collection of vintage f1 races. Sometimes full races, sometimes just longer highlights. Well worth following.
@nicklibby3784
@nicklibby3784 8 месяцев назад
2 awesome ways: #1 is RU-vid season reviews, they got some in 50fps "HD"! But, the coverage of each race can be quite short and skips over lots of things, even big details or background knowledge. (These season reviews basically do race recaps, or summaries and don't go too deep). #2 The actual F1 app, its 10 bucks a month, but 100% worth it to binge watch all the seasons in a month(actually there is so much content it would take a few months to watch it all). The F1 app has literally every season from 1970-2023. Including the "in reviews" (Murray Walker or others review the races/season in hindsight with all the backstory) and also the "highlights" videos showing all the highlights of the race (and these video's seem to be made right after the race instead of at the seasons end "in review" if that makes sense). And then the F1 app also has the full race broadcasts too. So I recommend the F1 app, and maybe some RU-vid documentarys or season reviews for certain seasons, because only some of the RU-vid video ones go in as much detail as the official F1 stuff.

I did some 50 minutes + 1lap races yesterday mandatory pit stop for tyres and fuel. I noticed the AI are not affected by how much fuel they carry, they set the same lap times over and over. Where as the player with a full tank you lose seconds per lap at Daytona in the DPI. I’ve had to turn fuel useage OFF for the playing field to be level.

If they can fix the amount of corner cutting and for no reason going off track and bringing tonnes of mud on to the track the ai do each race, along with ai actively blocking / covering off the inside line and apex it would be near perfect. Race kyalami modern and Suzuka, it’s so irritating that after three Laps with 30 ai cars, they turn those circuits in to RX tracks and ruins the whole experience. I wish we could turn mud on track off.

what do you mean with DRS? or did i get it wrong? but its awesome to see really good AIs to race against
@Thibouu
@Thibouu 9 месяцев назад
The cars have a DRS, juste not as a movable rearwing flap, but as a ride height adjustement with the active suspension
@nicklibby3784
@nicklibby3784 9 месяцев назад
He does the DRS explanation here: 8:38 and basically the 90s DRS was different, it did not move the rear wing, but instead adjusted the suspension and raised or lowered the car to reduce drag and make them go much much faster on the straights. I forgot about it sinfe its been awhile, but I vividly remeber watching videos & learning about these early 90s F1 cars just flying down the straight with crazy sparks because of their DRS systems. So I recommend watching some youtube videos of the real cars using the DRS in real life, it was pretty cool. You could literally see the cars suspension adjusting as they went to fly down the straight.

@RonniePeterson
@RonniePeterson 9 месяцев назад
And how many F1 cars have you driven let alone the cars of the 1993 season?
@nicklibby3784
@nicklibby3784 9 месяцев назад
Thats like, the easiest time to oversteer a F1 car, of basically any year in any sim. I almost exclusively drive F1 cars on Asseto Corsa, Rfactor 2, AMS 1 & 2 and use a direct drive wheel - and I've personally found that most the F1 cars from the 90s onward (and honestly, all eras of F1 to varying degrees) can be "slid" or use the pedal to rotate the car on those slow medium speed corners. If you try to do anything like that at highspeed though: then youll either catch it very quickly or crash it very quickly. I really don't think it is that unrealistic, he is using a Benetton, and this track Estoril has the perfect type of elevations and banking on the track combined with the type of turns that can cause you to to easily spin or lose traction if your not careful. Thats why this track is so fun. I spent tons of hours ripping around Asseto Corsa with the 1991 cars on this Estoril track (1988 version) and thats just how this track is, the elevation changes, banking, and turns themselves basically make it so you feel like you can/want to slide the cars around a bit and use the throttle to rotate around the corners more than normal. And the banking + elevation changes in combination with the turns allow you to do things with the car you normally could not do as easily. Also you have to remeber these cars have driving aids, like traction control - and guess what cars are notorious for slides and controlled oversteer? The 2001-2008 cars, schumacher era. Just watch videos from back then, the grooved tires + traction control enabled the drivers to kind of "power slide" the cars around certain parts of corners when normally it would be do risky to do.
@ayTesz
@ayTesz 9 месяцев назад
@@nicklibby3784traction control was literally created to help stop power sliding amongst the other obvious traction related..lmao because when you are sliding you don’t have traction ya know 😂

lol they absolutely had blue flags in the 90s. They were actually becoming increasingly more common through the 70s and 80s, although obeying them back then was merely a matter of sportsmanship rather than a hard rule. You've probably seen clips of James Hunt complaining about drivers ignoring blue flags, like in Monaco '89 when Senna got bottled up behind Rene Arnoux. By the 90s you could be penalized for not yielding after a few corners. It's definitely more strict today than back then.
