Because I messed up my intercom video, I decided to scrap out this Kidde Nighthawk CO (carbon monoxide) alarm. I looked more into them and they have a lifespan, so after 7 years, they no longer function.

Well, now that I know, there's really nothing to getting them open. I had never come across one before, which is odd, since they only last 7 years. Even if only 10% of our town have them, I should have got quite a few by now.

🤣 Thanks! They are my favourites. If I were in the shop, it would have been a lot quicker, but I was in the office and trying to keep it clean.

No problem, thanks for taking the time to come back and comment, buddy. Our phones are used to cold, but I imagine Alabama phones are just used to heat and humidity. Good luck with it! How cold did it get there?

@HHRecycling No problem! It was 11 degrees early this morning in the low teens for the last two nights. Thankfully, it's warming back up for a while starting today.

@@redrum2612 Wow, that's cold. Do people's crops get ruined when that happens. I remember California and Florida losing entire citrus harvests from freezes.

@HHRecycling Yes, it does happen. Unfortunately. I couldn't imagine having a large crop and losing it all. For some here, it's their only income.

Yeah, I figured just a board and small sensor. I might break the sensor open and see if there's a tiny pump in it. Why else would you need the transformer?

Yeah, and something a lot of people probably have around the house. I didn't realise that they were programmed to stop working 7 years after they power up for the first time, until I looked them up. They just start beeping. In my opinion, not worth taking apart,, but some people may want to.
