Edit: A huge discovery was made that allows the boss to be completed in as fast as 29 seconds, which made getting sub 3 in this game actually possible. On the 12th of February, I achieved the first sub 3 in this game with a time of 2:59! You can find a video about this discovery here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nLhRkKsS9zY.html Follow me on Twitch to keep up with my speedruns: www.twitch.tv/itsmaximum And join my Discord to stay updated: discord.gg/VgdepznZQT
Everyone knows minute barriers are cooler than second barriers... The fact that what I thought was going one off speed game I chose 2 and a half years ago turned into this blows my mind. It truly is an honor to be part of this brief and insignificant part of history and I will cherish this memory forever. Great video. But I'm still not coming back Motorjam 😎
not gonna lie, i thoroughly enjoyed this video. i always find world record progression videos enjoyable and interesting, but i questioned whether i would find enjoyment in this one because it’s based on a flash game i have no connection to and it was uploaded by a small creator. i was proven wrong and i did indeed find this entertaining.
on one hand it’s mildly annoying to hear home music nicknamed summoning salt music but he also exposed so many people to goos music so i dont wanna complain
Yo straight up as a kid playing this game I discovered double jumping but I thought it was a feature that was poorly executed because of how hard it was to pull off and I hated this game because of that. Only now am I finding out I stumbled upon a speed running glitch
@@jayphilipps3904 Dude I was playing on a shitty 2009 Laptop. Literally any flash game with passible graphics would lag that bitch. Also didn't help that is was a family laptop so its storage was always chock full of photos and whatnot. When I pressed a key, I would always either hold it down or spam the key to make sure the button press registered.
Searched RU-vid to find Summoning Salt style world record progression videos by small creators. Was not disappointed :) Thanks for all the effort I know has gone into this! It's such a treat to go down a well-presented speedrunning rabbit hole. Liked, commented and subscribed ^_^
Yes! I love how Summoning Salt inspired people from so many different speedrun communities to make videos of record progression. I don't care if I have never heard of the game, I just love the format, the thrill of thinking "ohh how low can the time go?" Its just so damn fun and this video is fantastic
There is something about red ball that is so much better than other games to speedrun. For red ball you don't have to do this pixel perfect crap 10x in a row for a good time. It is chill. Just learn a few tricks and you are good. Instead of having to be a time god, you have to be kinda chill. (my experience compared to other games)
underrated video. i’ve speedran my fair share of flash games, and never really got into red ball due to how technical it always seemed. this video brings a lot of stuff to light and was really entertaining. fantastic job.
Saw a wr progression video posted on Reddit, and it did not disappoint. I admire your use of foreshadowing more than other videos of this kind! Amazing job :D
Wow, this was really well done, I honestly was completely shocked on good this was. I new nothing about this game yet after watching this I know a lot because of you clear way of explaining it. I also didnt expect much from the progression standpoint because it isnt a famous game but I was proven wrong by ur amazing video. Keep it up!
While I discovered the speedrunning community for this game a year or so ago, it makes me so happy to see how optimized the runs are and how quality these videos are. Along with the Run games, the Red Ball games were my childhood, and me and my friends played it whenever we got the chance in the computer lab at school. Such a groovy game and so much nostalgia. Keep it up!
A really good work on this video. I respect all the efforts put into strats development. I like speedrunning myself and when I decide to pick up a new speedgame speedrun by no one, but me, I work hard to find optimal starts, so that the speedrun doesn't look like I just play with the timer. So it's so delightful for me to see such dedication to this game. GG everyone!
Thank you for this awesome video! As a former casual Red Ball 4 Mobile speedrunner, seeing all these tricks, tactics, and dedicated runners was fun to watch!
I knew it, i knew that double jumping is possible in the game. My classmates back in 5th grade told me i was crazy for mentioning it, let alone doing it as a proof.
I love listening to people talking about their passion. Even though I'm not into Speedrunning this documentary style video was stellar. Congratulations. I'm a speedcuber and I know about grinding something for a very long time to finally reach a goal. I respect the effort put into that.
Bro, that last section when you played "We're Finally Landing" From Home (Also known as the Summoning Salt song) that gave me goose bumps. Absolutely insane video! Love your stuff! Keep up the good work!
11:10 The music here reminds me of a song used in a long forgotten game called Hooda tower Before late 2010s, a website known as hoodamath, a rival to coolmathsgames, had made tons of escape room type games, like trump tower, waterpark, ect, but also had a platformer escape room with their mascot, hooda, known as hooda tower, but as of late 2010s, the trilogy of hooda towers were removed without a trace of it's existence on any website, not even youtube.
@@Maximum No, like I said, they were just completely wiped from existence, it's weird, almost makes me sound crazy being probably the only one to know of it's existence but they did exist, I played all 3 when I was in school around 7 years ago.
This isn't completely related to the speedrun but for some reason on level 9 starting from the restart position, if you hold right before pressing restart you bounce off the first enemy, but if you press right after a tiny amount of time since the restart, you go past the enemy. Since there is probably someone here who knows what this is I would like to know what exactly is going on.
Love your content on these games :) So many of them were ones I played a ton as a kid. Super happy to hear people play them still! Also it's fascinating to see very active communities in games I thought no one played much anymore
almost 2 years after this videos release i still find myself constantly coming back to it. i genuinely love this video so much and it shocks me to see how underrated this video and ur channel in general is.
I’ve watched so many world record progression videos I somehow landed here. Anyway nice vid and add HOME were finally landing more often that song slaps
I had no idea that this old Flash game I remember playing on browser game websites as a kid in primary/middle school back in 2011-2013 would end up becoming a speed run trend all these years later! :)
you seem like you would know the answer to this so here goes my question So whenever I downloaded the offline version of red ball 4 volume 1, I tried opening it after I had extracted it, yet it wouldn't really open. Rather it would just show an "f" in a weird font with an "i" in the bottom right of the small square. Could you explain how to fix this problem?
I think that this video is not enjoyable just because you have a good flow and good commentary but also because you were one of the speedrunners involved it just makes the video so much more interesting. Keep up the amazing work my friend!
This was amazing and it's cool to see that small flash games can have entire communities and histories of their own. Here's to someday seeing sub 3. But as for myself I will stick to just game completion. I don't really go for records unless there is an in game tracker for it but I wish you the best of luck in pushing it ever lower.
Interesting to see one of these from a more personal perspective. It's harder to hype yourself up to an audience without it being weird, but this was a story worth telling and I'm glad you told it!
Amazing video a few seconds in to the video really caught my attention I remember playing this game when I was younger I thought I was pretty good at it but now im jealous I downloaded load the game on my phone I used to play it on my iPad but I broke it and to get it fixed the member was wipe the iPad is old but this video made me want to speedruns this im starting to day I might be 7 month late but im not last
