Hey brother awesome piece of craftsmanship !! If you don’t mind me asking I’m trying to work out the kinks for a hot foil stamping machine I got but it’s not quite dialed in yet haha what type of paint did you use or would suggest to paint the letter in and did you blind stamp prior to coloring in ? Appreciate your time either way (I’ve looked high and low cause I hate to ask people things when they have the experience and time put in but running low on letter options haha) God bless either way and keep up the good work love to see the rebind of Gods word in something durable as it should be!
This was before I bought my Howard hot foil stamping machine. I blind stamped each letter then used Angelus Acrylic paint to paint inside the stamp. I used a very thin brush and thinned the paint with water and put several coats on so it would sink into the leather. A hot foil stamping machine work better and faster. I set my temp at 150 F and works like a champ.
I appreciate your time Mr Compton and thanks for the reply, honestly! A lot of this I see comes with time and experience; like this one I believe you said around 2:20ish that at this point the Liner was already tabbed on/attached to the block (would it be in 2halves ?).. which is what I was trying today to place block spine down, onto cover/leather and fold yalls to ideal spots and mark them trying to make up some time! But God bless and once again appreciate your time and thanks for sharing !
