With the level of production gone into this I have no doubt this is owned by a bigger media company that has admins and marketing teams titling, uploading and developing the entire series, Tommo and Nieran are just the face of this company's venture. This probably also explains why they aren't putting the entire podcast on RU-vid cause they might have exclusivity contracts with podcast networks to not have the full podcast on RU-vid to leverage a higher broadcast purchase.

Max reminds me so much of Marc Marquez in MotoGP. From the statement about always turning up in FP1 and pushing the boundaries to having to almost dial back the talent. The fact that only Max seems to be able to drive the RB and only Marc can ride the Honda is almost uncanny. Fingers crossed Marc can get fit again because they both have potential to break every possible record…

Like Christian Horner said, it's easier to fix a fast, unreliable car, than make a slow, reliable car go faster. Max is a fast car; its easier to rein him back in, fix his mistakes and aggressions, than it is to make a naturally cautious, slower driver go really fast. It's why Max is faster than most of his teammates, why he can make mistakes/have problems a whole weekend then turn up on race day and win, why he's developed from 2015-17 to now. He was very fortunate to have a team that saw that raw potential in him, and waited out his puppy stage. (interestingly, the same can be applied to the whole understeer/oversteer spectrum. An oversteering car always has the capacity to go faster than an understeering one, if put in the right hands. In the wrong hands, it can be disastrous)

It's funny that he mentions Jeddah with the understeer that Checo loves. Max is stil the one that won that race. And I think that shows exactly what sets Max apart: his ability to adept to a car that's not to his liking and to situations that are tricky. It just confirms that Max is a step above Checo and his other team mates.

@rosek7114
@rosek7114 Год назад
@@elianioriofarrell Checo most likely would've ended up behind Max (and Charles) anyway. See article bij F1 called "DATA DEEP DIVE: Did Perez have the pace to win the Saudi Arabian GP without the Safety Car intervention?" I was actually aiming my comment more towards the entirety of the first few months of the season when the car was a lot more to Checo's liking. Max was still the one outpacing Checo most of the time even though the car had way too much understeer for him. It's pretty simple: Max driving a car not to his liking: still winning races, Checo driving a car not to his liking: falls back dramatically.

Max is that Guy! Like even when people are like well Ricciardo beated him in the beginning.....I am like what did you expect? Ricciardo was already a seasoned f1 driver at a team he knew really well. And it was not like Ricciardo schooled him, Max was from the get go almost just as fast, Imagine....that young, he was 18 competing against a seasoned Ric! Obviously he was less experienced and therefore less complete....And I mean eventually he was clearly better than Ricciardo and he was still growing. Now he is just an animal, I bet you that Ricciardo doesn't have a chance whatsoever in the same machinery these days. And it's not like Max is slightly better than his teammates, he literally embarrass them so much we start to question their talent.... I mean Gasly, Albon and Perez also have different driving styles respectively, so this argument that it's only because the car is more developed for Max, I dunno....It's a factor but Max is just a significant better driver than them, let's face it.
@EntropicExergy
@EntropicExergy Год назад
Got that right, Marko wouldn't just put any young guy in a car if he didn't see anything in him. He basically had one year of experience in single seaters (F3) and then went straight to the pinnacle. Only took him just about three years to polish off his rough edges. Leclerc had longer and with four or five years in F1 still makes mistakes. Lauda hailed Max as a talent that only shows up once a century, he was right on that one.
