Dutch wasn’t with Micah, in the final mission when asked what he is doing there, he says “Same as you I suppose”, he definitely had just arrived there recently
satriaptr love how you made a unique comment but the highest liked comment is a ___ has a __ but most importantly uncle has lumbago. This says so much about society.
"Oh, darling abigail. I've changed! Come live with me in an outhouse I wouldn't ask my worst enemy to take a shit in." Uncle is probably my favorite part of the epilogue
If people knew how smart and capable he was they’d start expecting more from him, and we can’t have that you know. I don’t think Uncle was boasting when he said he had common sense: he called out Dutch on his bullshit, left before shit really hit the fan, and come to find out he was the inspiration to build the Marston Ranch. As annoying as he was to John and Abagail, he’s more or less family at that point and neither actually had the heart to kick him out for being lazy.
@@voicelessglottalfricative6567 yeah and? The eagle is also a symbol of the native Americans. Furthermore, The major Buddhist traditions accept that the reincarnation of a being depends on the past karma and merit (demerit) accumulated, and that there are six realms of existence in which the rebirth may occur after each death, this means that it couldn't be your spirit animal. I didnt even say that arthur was the blue Jay. I said I like to think it was him, so pull that silver spoon out your arse.
Carl Deaton uncle was always there for emotional support, even when in the gang. that's why whenever the game would celebrate he'd start singing and cracking jokes, he was always there to just raise the spirits of the people around him.
"John Marston, you have a home." "So do you." John and Uncle are true homies. They talk smack 98% of the time but when it really matters they got each other's back. Amazing writing
Uncles a pain in the ass a lot but when it's clutch time he's a real team player. He ended up dying protecting johns family, and by that point his family too
What’s up Act Man! I just finished building the house in my playthrough. It genuinely helped me miss Arthur a little less, because it felt like his sacrifice was worth it after seeing these three happy when they completed building their home. If that bird watching them really was Arthur reincarnated, I’m sure he’s happy knowing that they made it out of their previous life, even if it’s only for a short while. 🥹
Codermations I feel like his death had more closure than Johns. He essentially redeemed himself from his wrongdoings (depending on your decisions). He went from a ruthless outlaw to a selfless friend that did what he could to right his wrongs. John unfortunately died an unheroic death and was avenged by Jack eventually.
"I've had better nightmares than this dream." "Oh darling Abigail, I've changed.... Come live with me in an outhouse I wouldn't even ask my worst enemy to take a shit in." Laughed my ass off at these lines when I played this.
Also the line Uncle says later on “you don’t build a barn DUMBASS!!!” had me laughing hard when I first heard it. Just the way he says it kills me lol.
@@Yue_Jin a good thing is that rockstar didnt ignore the fact of this because hookers can still ask if you wanna get laid but you only get the option to decline..... just imagine if John would fuck other girls than abigail... also Arthur doesnt swing that way either so.... but hey atleast we can get a deluxe bath right?
@@anthonypuk5190 I like your idea, i remember the first time i finish RDR1 i was sad for what happens so i decide to do a new game where i make jhon stay with his family and never do that mission,so he can live happy on my canon version of the events, still he stays the best protagonist on a Rockstar game.
I love how when Uncle says "[This house] needs levelin'.", Charles just nods in the background and wordlessly goes to prepare to tear the house down. Uncle was just saying what was on everyone's minds.
@Batchest john wasn't lazy, he just lacked motivation and guidance. He felt like the shack was enough but Uncle helps him gain perspective. Thats why he is so important to John
I cry every time I watch this scene. You know, it’s tears of happiness until you realize that Uncle was loyal to Marston family til his end protecting them and the fact that this dream life ends in only 3 years. Damn, what a game!
I am sorry but I am not following this. I played the entire game and now I am in the post-epilogue. How could you tell this only lasts 3 years? Is there still something going to happen?
Red Dead Redemption 3: you play as a new character that dies in Blackwater at the end to help your gang escape then play as Arthur in the epilogue and you miss the new rdr3 character and don’t want to play as Arthur 😂
@Ooga Booga nah i wanna play as uncle in his prime as 'the one shot kid' and at the end you're in the doctors office and he alerts you that you have *L U M B A G O* and it just fades to black
@@johncostello625 It's because they were the most positive missions, all the other ones are serious and some are sad and then you get red dead depression
When I played as Arthur and went hunting with Charles for the first time I thought to myself “Charles seems like a cool character, I hope he lives” And thank you Rockstar, for not killing one of the most likable characters ever.
When the music started I was smiling and laughing the whole time. Then the action prompt popped up and I was like “wait I actually get to build it?? It’s not just a cutscene??” And that’s when I knew this was the best game I ever played. This game is literally a Wild West simulator and that’s not a bad thing. This game is a masterpiece.
You knew this was the best game ever after 7 whole chapters?😅 I agree tho, I love Arthur’s character and I had fun playing as him. But John Marston’s Epilogue (I’m still playing it) is no longer a game for me, its an experience.
Despite dying a slow and painful death stricken from lumbago, Uncle really pushed John into making something beautiful. Abagail came running back when she heard about a big old house, and Uncle is who John can thank for that.
I like to think that Arthur wakes up somehow because one of the Indians stopped by and cured him. He then goes with Sadie after the rest of the game is beat and just settles down states away slowly coming to John.
Yes it is and unfortunately i see a lot people shitting on it , thinking they're smart . Bunch o' goddamn rats . This game is something special , not perfect , but so memorable
This scene is beautiful because of Arthurs sacrifice. All of his struggles, in the end, was to ensure that John could know a peaceful way of life, even if it wasn't for the longest time. The fact that we see the gang widdled down to just three members but they are still making the most of their lives regardless of Dutch's "plans" showed Arthurs sacrifice wasn't in vain.
At Rockstar HQ: -Why did you put that bird in this mission? -Idk, looks nice -Yeah, it sure does, leave it Internet: ThAt bIrD iS ArThUr rEinCarnAtEd, cOs iTs BluE, and ArThuR uSeD tO WeAr BluE aLl tHe TiMe!
When I played Red Dead Redemption I always wondered why John had Uncle live with him and his family and after watching this video now I know why. John probably wouldn't have a home nor Abigail and his son without Uncle's help.
I remember always being confused why John kept Uncle around when he always threatened to kill him in RDR1. He even threatens to kill him in RDR2 multiple times. But when Uncle gets kidnapped by the skinners, John freaks out and is desperately trying to save him. Think it adds depth to their relationship.
After just all the stress from the main story this made me feel so good just getting to do something fun and peaceful with John. While literally laying the foundation for the first game
Lol the requirements for a "gold" medal on this mission is to hit the nails with at least 80% accuracy (a nudge at themselves for making almost every mission require accuracy
The epilogue feels like a completely different game. After all the betrayal and tragedy in Chapters 3 - 6 it just feels so feel good and wholesome with a little hint of swashbuckling revenge action. Rockstar could've released it as a DLC and probably would've benefitted from it in terms of making more money but they didn't. It's so great!
BuzzFeed woman: "I wrote a blog post about why I f*cking hate video games. Because this is what it does. It appeals to like the male fantasy." The male fantasy: 5:58
When I first went through the game I expected the building part to just be some cutscene you could skip, but making it one of them “interactive cutscenes” made me like the game so much more
One of the most sweetness moments in this game, it means lot cause’ this moment means a part of the John’s redemption, John was trying to forget all the chaotic past with the band, just like Arthur tells him. A life without problems, just centred in his family, seriously this game is a masterpiece
When the "Arthur" blue jay appears: 6:53 6:55 7:00 7:04 7:08 7:21 7:23 7:27 7:31 (in far background on left corner) 7:40 (briefly) 7:41 8:04 (next to the chimney fireplace briefly) 8:16 on top beam of newly uprighted frame 9:15 above John as he begins roof tiling (last appearance) If you listen hard enough you can also hear a bird chirping in the background.
I loved this part of the game. Moments like these make a great game even more amazing. A break from the chaos and drama, followed by a beautiful scene with friends working and having fun together, complete with an uplifting song and booze. This and Lenny/Arthur getting drunk are the best moments.
As much as I feel sad about not being able to play as Arthur anymore, I love how John is shown tryna change and live as an honest man with is family. That epilogue is gold
This is the most beautiful game in terms of story, you would think you end up with the character dead and finishing the game with a bad feelling, but they give you the chance of rebuilding someone lifes right after as a reward for the rightneous choices of the dead character and giving you a fullfiling sense of worthiness.... FANTASTIC !!!!!
@@bsibbs2667 Not really, Arthur Died a better person so that john could live, consequently also making John a better person, in the start of the game John wanted to be respected as Arthur and throughout the game Arthur slowly becomes a better person wanting to have John life, with a family and not that much heat on him, basically John saved Arthur Spirit and Arthur saved John life
I swear this game is the ultimate cowboy boomer simulation. Fishing, hunting, building a home and look after your own horsepower by cleaning it and maintaining it.
The game is also an educational program. Behave the way you want to be seen and treated by your environment. Here too, pixel animals become an almost breathing, living creature that screams in pain when you hurt it.
only thing aggravates me is how they nailed the joists. you dont nail dow. like that you either block them in or nail through the other board into the joist when they nail those nails they just putting a nail for nothing
Say what you want but Rockstar are genuine geniuses; they manage to make things that most people wouldn't shake a stick at and manage to make them entertaining through well-written characters alone
This scene really shows that John actually had a chance, and Arthur's sacrifice might have really meant something. It's so bittersweet knowing that no matter what, they were all doomed for their pasts in the changing world.
This part of the prologue really hit me. It's so sad to see this and then all the events of rdr1 happen and seeing the end of that. Poor John only had a few years of peace before he was blackmailed to go after his old comrades
My technical school that I went to builds residential homes as a student-led project and the memories I have with my friends on that job site remind me so much of this scene. No matter how hard or tedious the day was, the laughter and collaboration of a strenuous difficult group effort like this always made it worth it. Any mundane back-breaking task can be a hilarious and entertaining experience when you are with the right company
The whole last section of the game was beautiful; John building Beecher's Hope, marrying Abigail, the proposal on the boat, the guys building the house and rolling around laughing and reminiscing, teaming up with Sadie a few more times. All that just to remember John gets turned to Swiss cheese after hunting down his former brothers
As easy as it is to hate on Ross, he was a living manifestation that John, or anyone, can't run away from their sins. I love John as much as the next fan, but let's not forget he was an outlaw who did many foolish and criminal things in his youth, and eventually, it all caught up with him.
In theory yes, but as Dutch said; _"They'll just find a new monster. They have to. How else would they justify their checks?"_ It's highly probable that Ross was operating in a shady manner. It's doubtful the Supreme Court would endorse the kidnapping of children and women to blackmail a man. My theory is that Ross saw an opportunity to avenge his mentor Milton and be commended for it at the same time. Notice how John doesn't claim a bounty for Bill, Javier or Dutch's heads. He delivers them to Ross instead and Ross simply implies "He'll take it from there". It's very likely he was taking the claim for John's work and was then coerced by his own greed to backstab John and claim he took down the entire Van Der Linde gang, which seems to be the case. It's not only a great insurance policy, but works best for him as well. You have to always remember that John used to be a very bad man, and like Arthur said: _"You can't expect to be bad and have good things happen."_ It's also worth noting that John brought Ross upon himself as well. If he hadn't gone after Micah, Ross wouldn't have had the clues he needed to track John & Uncle down.
It's so nice yet so horrible seeing John build all this for his family when you know what happens in red dead 1. He really did do his best for his family and would have had a peaceful and great life but his revenge on Micah ruined it all by leading Ross straight to him. Like Arthur and Dutch used to say "Revenge is not a luxury we can afford" and revenge cost John everything in the long run.
xlixity jack became an outlaw tho so your opinion is idealistically false. Also, the law prohibited dueling in about 18 states during 1859, the time period for Jack is 1914 during ww1 which would mean the illegalization of gunslinging. Jack whether it be with the law or not he became an outlaw. Furthermore, John tried to confine his vengeance with the law look how that turned out for him. Like I said the cycle will continue on with Jack. Regardless.
Show me where it shows via cutscene that Jack embraced Outlaw life. Your mention of IRL laws and their application to a fictional state is flawed, but even if we go by that standard: - New Austin is essentially Texas, and Texas did allow dueling or self defense via lethal force in 1914. - They dueled in Mexico. Which definitely allowed dueling. - There are no witnesses to their duel. It's impossible to prove Jack killed Ross therefore he cannot be branded an Outlaw by the Gov't. Your opinion is both idealistically, canonically, and factually false.
JVCOBI I came across the Morgan horse during the Sadie basin mission and lost my shit because I thought it was Arthur's horse before immediately remembering that Arthur's horse died.
It’s especially beautiful because none of this would happen without Arthur. He gave John the courage and willpower to be a good man, a good father and a good husband. It’s just so tragic how John wasn’t able to escape his past, no matter how hard he tried. But staying true to the name of the game, in the end Arthur and John find redemption and they both die knowing.
This would be one of those filler episodes that doesn't add much to the overarching story but is very enjoyable and adds to the general tone of the series.
@RadTheLad Maybe I like participating instead of sitting about, besides if you do it in real life hammering nails can be relaxing, or is because I live out in the country side in the Ozarks?
Y'all noticing the bluebird watching jhon, uncle and charles building the house and it's feel like it's Arthur watching. ALL THIS while in the song there is this whistleing mathcing the melody that says "No matter the weather we're together" like it's the bird (Arthur) singing along. God damn, what a beautiful game.
I luv how even when arthur passes away we still have a whole epilouge to complete we see john grow even more as a character here and i luv it while in the last game he had bits of peices of character developement
Imagined if Arthur and Lenny survived and were in this scene Arthur: LENNEH!!!!!! JAJA FOUND YA LENNEH Lenny: Arthur... what're you doing? Arthur: *slaps Lenny*
This part of the story will always stay with me. By the time I had finished the game, and had talked about it with my friends, a new summer had come upon me. It was the best time of my life before my parent's divorce, after a 30 year marriage, a couple months later. There was no better time in the world before that period of my life. Less responsibility, avid get-togethers, and lots of un-practically used time in between. That, coupled with the Pandemic, broke me somewhat. Lord knows i'm trying to get back to who I was, but it is the bittersweet moments, such as recollecting on a time when everything was perfect, that fuel me to get back to that feeling of unstoppable hope and love. This text stands as a totem of my undying effort.
