Saying that the different location of the focus ring on the 70-200 is “design philosophy” It’s a rehoused Sigma 70-200. Leica had ZERO influence on the location. It’s sad you couldn’t be honest.
I think it's a lost cause dude. People do not want to admit just how much of Leica and the people adjacent to it is bs, and would rather use any of the following rationalizations to avoid feeling like an idiot: 1. Build quality 2. Leica look 3. They treat their workers well It's a cynical company, and the only thing I wonder is how much of this fanboyism is more of that or just credulity.
I tried the new 70-200. I don’t like the design. It’s too heavy. The SL3 cannot focus properly and fast enough. This lens is totally useless. I hope Leica fixes the autofocus system of the SL3 and then I will probably get the Sigma one.
This comment is a bit confusing to me, since my experience with the 70-200mm and SL3 has been excellent. Can you be more specific about your experience? What were your settings? What did you try photographing with this combo?
@@jlehrer1890 i tried various settings (probably all of them) since the focus was very slow and sometimes it just couldn’t find it. I tried shooting birds who were standing (not flying). I think we need a firmware update for SL3. What did you shoot? Which settings were working fine for you?
@@jlehrer1890confusing? I tried every setting I know to photograph a bike race. Not happening. Take out the R5 II + RF 70-200 and it’s like unboxing magic. I wish that weren’t the case but even you mentioned, “we all know the sl3 autofocus isn’t the fastest….”
