I’m no longer an ozzy fan.. well since years ago when I found out how they treated Jake and others. Disgusting on their part. Agreed, Jake wrote the riff to Bark at the Moon, and he can do with it as he pleases.
Incredible power. Whole song is perfect. Jake's playing is what hard rock is all about. And the criticisms of the singer make no sense as the vocal performance was spot on start to finish, and fit the song perfectly.

Drummer ( Who i can't remember the name) came to audition for the Lead Vocal part...so obviously...dude stepped up with a Voice...ready to get hired to Sing; Instead, Jake E. had already heard Darren ( This Singer) and decided on Him as the Front guy. ( I believe he's long gone at this point, and if Jake is still playing out'..under the RDC name...it'll be someone else fronting now; i personally think he 'Killed this' song. Awesome performance and loved the mix on the strat being 'pushed up' at the right parts...( Chorus and solo) I also understand Darren...( This singer here in Vid) is also a drummer, and at one point, was just thinking he'd end up as the Drummer in this Band!!! Lol!....Wild huh?..... But True.
Just as good as when I saw him back in '86 with Ozzy. Now that was a game changer for me. Jake E Lee changed my music life forever. I got that heavy stuff in my veins and was addicted until current day lol
Ive known Jake since the very early days in San Diego. 1979 to be exact ! With his band Teaser @ straight ahead sound !!.....I crack a smile every time i watch this video...seeing Jake back where he belongs.. on stage ripping on guitar like no other. ROCK ON MY BROTHER !!!!!!!!
Jake E. Lee is such a phenomenal guitar player, I feel he is very underrated and doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves. My opinion though. I just love his guitar playing, and his new stuff doesn't sound like shit and generic like most of the old rock bands trying to crank out new albums.
Just re-listened 4 times. Wow! What compares to this driving rock nowadays? Incredible. Super tight groove and arrangement with an incredible chorus, a terrific singer with incredible range and Jake Lee even better than ever. Love this. What fun!
Yes it is remeniscent of Bark at the Moon... Purposely! He wrote it immediately after hearing "Bark" on the radio for the first time in 15 years and thought to himself "I want to revisit that pattern again" and found a new progression for it. it's called having a "style". Now shut up rock police... until you can accomplish something even close to what Jake has.
To me, the intro riff sounds more like Peter Frampton's "Show Me The Way" than any Ozzy song. Oh, dear Gavin...criticism makes better music. Take away criticism and all you have is a long line of fawning fanboys waiting for autographs. Criticism makes awesome musicians even better. If a band, a musician, (or their fans in this case) can't handle it, then they don't deserve to release albums into the real world where real people can either like or dislike what they hear. Life is hard. True story. I'm not saying to be mean for the sake of being mean. I'm no Simon Cowell and I think he's an asshole. Ditto for Howard Stern. Talk about two pieces of crap who cannot do the things they criticize in others! But, people said awful shit about Queen and Freddie Mercury, and it made them better musicians. Grow up and enter the real world, friend. :)

I don't think there is anything in this song that's close to frampton.as for criticism.its not always correct being it's nothing more than someone's opinion.there has been more times I can remember that someone (supposedly a professional) criticized a song, movie, whatever before it even came out and the results came back that they were wrong.if someone doesn't agree or thinks that something isn't good or something needs to be changed to make it better doesn't always work like that.there are more bands that fell hard by critic's opinions or sometimes bashing of them that they said fuck that this is us and this is how we want to sound ,play,etc.and they became huge, famous, idols,and legends.criticism has made a band better by ignoring shit and doing what they believe in.thats a true story.
One of the best tunes from an 80's rocker to come out in modern days indeed. Jake E Lee never disappoints! Compared to say Poison etc. who come out with these new tunes and they suck sooo bad compared to the original material.
Memories. After we came back from deployment in 1991 I saw Badlands in a local bar in Fayetteville NC and it was one of the best small venue shows I'd ever seen. Jake was unbelievable.
actually got to hang out with Badlands at a club in Denver, got to talk for a couple of hours before the headed out to Las Vegas, dudes were the coolest guys I ever met, next to Queensryche and Lemmy

Every year I come back to this song. The riffs and vocal ranges of high/lows and simulate to Ozzy’s runs and stretches at the end of the sentences is a great match with Jake’s playing.
Jake and the Cartel kick some serious ass.This is the type of rock we need. "Amplified CPR" ( made that term up years ago), hits you right in the middle of the chest!!!!!
I like the familiar cadence of this song and the little run down the neck gives it some tonal flavor to resolve back to the main riff. Rock on Jake E. Lee!
just discovered this. Was a huge Jake fan back in the day. Haven't listened to any new music in about 20 years but damn this is catching my ear. very nostalgic 80s Jake sound. Not sure I hear any of his Ozzy stuff but sounds simple yet powerful.
I agree I don't hear the Ozzy stuff on here either but I always preferred Jake solo anyway. I love all the Badlands music he made and hope to hear some of it when he tours with this band.
Don't care for the singing, but Jake more than makes up for it! Soulful, creative guitar shed that sounds like no one else. . . Great job Jake. Thx for giving us great music that's timeless.
This is one rocking song. I love it. Jake E. Lee is back! I hope that the younger generation take notice of what we - his fans since Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin - know. Jake was the real star and musical show of force of the Ozzy Osbourne records and tours. What could Ozzy and Sharon do? They fired him and this song says a lot.

Great to see Jake back in action! He has always been one of my favorite players. I like that he is what he is and he doesn't try to be anyone else. This band is somewhat of a no win situation. If the songs are reminiscent of his past then people will complain he's stuck in the past and has nothing new to say or he hasn't progressed over time, but if the songs are completely different then people will say he's not the same player they remember and wish he sounded more like his old stuff. I'm not totally sold on this singer, but I'm going to give it a chance and see where it goes from here. I plan to see him here in OKC on this tour. Welcome back Jake! Rock on!
Very cool tune, stop with all the Bark comments. Similar, yes....but VERY different. If your a Jake fan.....stop the hating and just be glad he's back. The new songs are great and he sounds revitalized....I'm glad to have him back....and wish the band much luck....
I Love Red Dragon Cartel!!! I have been Jakes' #1 fan since the 80's I Love him and have missed him and have waited for the the day since Badlands to see Jake againand I have to say this album ROCKS and I cant wait to see them LIVE!!! Love you Jake!!!
Great to see Jake E Lee back in action. This album he revisits and gives fans a piece of Ozzy Era, & Badlands which I think is great. I'm sure he intended it to sound like a Bark At The Moon type song, after all he did write Bark At The Moon as well lol. Love the album! Was lucky to be in Japan to get it early. macheted01 it was ok, not my favorite, but I enjoyed the guitar work, but didn't feel the intro chorus fit well. The vocal style reminded me a lot of something, I just can't put my finger on it....maybe Slash's album? I like the regular version better IMO, but glad to have it on there regardless. Love Japanese releases with bonus tracks, plus got the Magnet as well from Disc Union.
Cool, I dug it. It creates a different atmosphere. Understand what you are saying on the vocals though. Can't wait to pick up the Best Buy version. It has a bonus track called American Dream.
awesome song with an awesome friend singing....always stretches his horizons ....expecting Ozzy now was silly! Darren be's himself in many awesome bands ... love him! Jake is great as always too!

GREAT song. Excellent vocals. Smoking guitar riff. Right outta the park boyz! That's the sound we got hooked on and it pays homage to the biggest era of rock guitar!
Great riff, super catchy chorus. So different and refreshing than anything else out these days. Nice to see Jake pay homage to his Ozzy years, love it.
Why dont more people like this? I think its fucking awesome....been on high rotation on my MP3 player at the gym for a while now. Of course the riff sounds like Bark at the Moon and the pre-chorus sounds like Ozzy singing...but thats hardly a bad thing. Sure beats listening to Meghan Traynor ;-) As for the Ray Gillen (R.I.P) comments, I honestly dont think theres anyone out there that can sing like that. He was incredibly talented, the soul and timbre of Paul Rogers with a range that was all his own, I dont think we will hear that again. But man, it's great to have Jake back rockin.
Yeah, it's really good to have him back hehehe but I wish he was in a better band... these vocals are too sleazy for me... he should have proper heavy metal vocal with proper heavy metal melodies.
