I dated a wealthy guy for a while and it was actually a decent relationship UNTIL he wanted to marry me and went to get a ring. Suddenly the opinion his family had was the most important thing (whereas before he never cared) and he became a different person. I broke it off and told him unless he learns to stand up for what he wants he'll always resent his family because I won't be the last person he does this to. It's been 10 years and he's still unmarried and as far as I'm aware, he's not even dating anyone

And so many of them are not even capable of love due to their own emotional problems and narcissism. We need to keep it realistic and not delude ourselves.

Also, Bunny didn't really pay much attention to Trey as he was growing up. He explained that Bunny started giving him more attention when he was a teen.... When he was in the bath and she'd come in and start telling him about her day. So, he was finally getting attention from his mother back then and it became their normal. The fact that Bunny started giving him more attention as a teen when he was in the bath is already crazy. But, he was finally getting attention from his mom so he didn't question it. Yikes!

This actually explains why he’d never been married before despite not being a player on the surface. Didn’t feel safe enough to open up to someone since his relationship with his primary caretaker required him letting her cross his boundaries, physically and even sexually in this context.

I lived in New York City for 14 years and worked with millionaires and billionaires when they were in ill health. I've also known people in my personal life who have married high income men. This lifestyle is not what people think it is and, honestly, it can be a living hell depending on the situation. When men have options, they generally exercise them at some point in time. It's a very transactional, cut throat type of lifestyle (not saying all wealthy people are like this, they're not). There truly is a lot involved that people don't understand. I think if two people get married relatively young (under 30) and build wealth together, that is a different story. If you are a woman looking to marry into wealth, that's a different scenario altogether and I would recommend being extremely cautious because if things don't work out, the one with the supreme advantage will be the wealthy person because of the assets and connections s/he has (usually it's a man). You can be easily replaced.
@Liz-wz8dh
@Liz-wz8dh 4 месяца назад
That has been my suspicion too, that it's a "cutthroat and transactional" lifestyle, that's why I am sort of skeptical of the modern day goal women have of chasing extremely wealthy men. I can see why you would if you are tired of dating men who don't have anything, but that doesn't mean the grass is necessarily greener.
@thepragmatist
@thepragmatist 4 месяца назад
@@Liz-wz8dh I appreciate your comment because, generally, people don't want to hear what I have to say on this topic. But it really is a lifestyle you have to be prepared for and unless you've been raised in extreme wealth, most people have no idea. There is the occasional unicorn man but I feel like that's what is played up on social media and it's not the reality. I used to think wealthy people have it made but they really don't. They just have different problems.
@Liz-wz8dh
@Liz-wz8dh 4 месяца назад
@@thepragmatist Very true, in my experience. I haven't been with many wealthy guys but just being on the fringes of it, you can definitely tell there are certain expectations. They notice things, they have incredibly high standards sometimes just because they know a lot of women will want them because of their wealth and yet they're still very insecure because they know people are often after the wealth rather than them. It's definitely not an automatically better lifestyle choice, that's for sure. Just from the small taste I got from being around people like that, I realized that trying to keep up would be exhausting and demoralizing. It made me happy to be middle class, though I definitely would prefer to have wealth of my own. I wouldn't want to marry into wealth though. Thanks for the perspective.
@thepragmatist
@thepragmatist 4 месяца назад
@@Liz-wz8dh Everything you have written is correct (in my experience). Also, I totally understand not wanting to date broke men. I did a deep dive into that situation and there are way more broke men than wealthy men and that is not a good situation either. Having wealth of your own is key and affords you options. What most people don't understand is that a lot of wealthy people come with strings attached. Thank you for your comments and all the best to you.
@roma5809
@roma5809 4 месяца назад
@@Liz-wz8dhI agree. Id rather marry into middle class and then build wealth with my partner. As long as he has a good foundation - educational credentials, career position, ambition, financial skills, etc.- I will be able to work with that. I don’t need a man who’s wealthy from the jump. I have no desire stressing myself out meeting his unrealistic expectations

Wealthy men seem to prefer their own kind. Cinderella stories are RARE, unless he’s older and already had the rich classy wife (eves husband). That’s why Big wasted Carries time. To him, she was trash. If you rewatch the show and movie, he has friends but didn’t want to be seen with Carrie. It wasn’t until she became wealthy and started dressing more conservatively that he took her seriously. Tre was a special case. His issues with secks and his mother are why other women left. Richard, Samantha’s dude, is another unfortunate side of dating rich men. Even if you’re the classy one he marries and parades around, he still wants that his poor trash on the side

Great vid! I’ve encountered many rich men and it is a whole other world they live in. I’m a not-rich Native American and when they did express romantic interest in me it was usually fetishizing. And many who did hit on me were married to “proper” women for them. I hope one day I’ll be able to throw money around like them and have that level of security. But I don’t want to have to marry one of them to do it! 😂

Can you make a video detailing what women can do in their lifetime to position themselves to marry well? I’m a first gen college student in my twenties from a poor background full of low quality marriages. I’m not interested in marrying until I’m in my 40’s but I’m wondering what I can do in the meantime to position myself for the most success possible for myself and as well as for a healthy loving wealthy marriage that will further improve my quality of life. I love your content both on RU-vid and tik tok and I would love to hear your take and advice on this. I know that myself and others would benefit from this information.

I love Cecilia and have been following her for a long time! Her content is so impactful and nuanced, showing the various ways patriarchy, misogyny/misogynoir and violence is so prevalent and normalized in our culture, it is often hidden. From what I have learned from her, having very strong boundaries, upholding them while dating and keeping on eye out for toxic patterns and leaving the FIRST time you feel/see unsafe and a boundary has crossed. It is crucial that you prioritize yourself and make sure you are only with people that will hold you in the same regard. I am also a young woman (under 25) so there is still a lot I have to learn, but ultimately relationships are deeply about authenticity, growth, kindness and partnership. We don't need to be in relations with folks who do not honour us in every regard of our lives, because we are human and deserve dignity and safety, especially in our most intimate relations. Just some advice from one fan to another! :)

@@yasminahmed6693 Thank you!! ☺️ I really loved reading your response and I think you’re right! We deserve to be in relationships that uphold us and allow us to grow instead of relationships that are holding us back and diminishing our happiness. I appreciate the advice! ☺️💗💗

@@diratormenta Aww! You're so welcome! It's so wonderful that we have these critical conversations, unpacking the ways relationships have been used to perpetuate harm and how we can find resilience in community (not in the men that hurt us!). It's important that we underscore our intrinsic value, especially because we are conditioned that we are valuable only when we are in relationships with men, regardless of how they treat us and make us feel. We are all powerful, wonderful and passionate in what is fulfilling, we should not have to be in spaces that are threatened and insecure by our grace or work to take us down a notch. Grateful to conversations and community Cecilia is fostering by providing us with the tools and language to not fall victim to the many traps of toxic heteropatriarchy and prioritize our peace, wellbeing and freedom beyond all else
