And I bet you're the same people that go on green laning forums and complain that lanes are being closed, due to them being destroyed by vehicles churning them up. That's not green laning, it's mud plugging and wanton damage of the lanes. Hope they get closed permanently - after all, most of us can't drive them now anyway! I'm going to assume that most of the mods on those vehicles aren't insured either - especially the illegal tyres protruding from the arches. It's "clubs" like you that get all laners a bad name - watching this I can really understand why many people hate us.
Always fun watching yout videos ....from my sofa, my 4x4 stays on the road. The winch in use about 19 mins into video is called a "Tirfor winch " as used to use in the Fire Service in the 1990s, awesome bit of kit although need to watch your fingers. Great videos as always.
Cheers Phil for the love and support for the channel! That winch is a big old bit of kit thanks for letting me know what it was! I’ve never seen one before!! 😎👌👌
Suppose this shows why 'green laning' is frowned upon in many places. A few people enjoying themselves but not giving 2fucks about any one else who wants to use the road in the future, not to mention all the contamination caused by the fluids and oil which will be dripping from landrovers. I only came for the syncro, but watched the whole thing.
Yeah my group drove around the big mud holes and deep water the other discovery’s were already in there? We managed to get through all though a long time with standard ish vehicles,we didn’t know how bad it was till we went too far in.. Put it this way we won’t be doing messy muddy lanes like this again Nice pleasant scenic views and stunning countryside please don’t let this video put you off the channel we have better newer vids further up! 😎👍
@ALL_4_WHEELS Appreciate it ive subbed to your channel. Think id be hooked if i had a 4x4 bet its a great community of people and vehicles you come across .Brilliant hobby 👍👍👍🧱
It’s brilliant mate! Gives so much freedom and enjoyment it’s nothing like America or Australia but if you really go hunting you will find the lost routes and boy are they good fun!! 😎👍
I like to do more offroading, but in germany it is basically forbidden. But this would be not my kind of fun anyway ... way too much water/mud in the end.
Yeah this area is like this all year around bit of a swamp really but we have much better and nicer places to go and see! Enjoy the videos and channel maybe you could come join us in the near future??😎👍
Will be out there nice I’ve done some repairs to it, it’s got a major oil leak on the sump at the min!…just had the rear chassis repaired as it was split both sides!. Thanks for watching! Regards Adam.👍
@@ALL_4_WHEELShave a jimny now but we just do trialing, where you have to go through canes. Its great fun. Jimnys great because of how small it is. Would be great to see some trialing on the channel
Absolutely brilliant video. I'm definitely going to have to add these lanes to my list of "wannados". It might be a bit of a struggle without axle diff locks, but aired right down, and with plenty of clarksonesqe "speed and power" I think I'd stand a fair chance. And if it did all go wrong, at least I have a good winch and a pair of wellies. 😀
Hey buddy unfortunately I really don’t know think it’s like the 4 motion setup? It’s triple locked apparently center difflock standard and air lockers front and rear.. 😎👍
Cool vid, totally love it.. Funny when you said you need 35’s to get through it as James disappears under water on 38’s 😂😂.. about to watch it for a second time back to back.. looking forward to the next one..
@@ALL_4_WHEELS Gate mules need to stay in shape. You did good. 😉 . Looking forward if there is a part two or a recovery mission for the stranded ones. Never leave a man ( truck ) behind. 😅🤣😂 . Ziggy 🇮🇸
Part 2 will be out soon for the other tracks we did on the day!! Some good footage to come!! Yeah indefinitely need to get in shape abit haha that was a big steep hill for a 40 year old haha 😂
Never feels like a proper day out unless one of the Land Rover boys break something. We don't break things in NZ, we drive Toyotas down here lol. What is that VW and what's been done to it? Don't think I've seen one of those in NZ before.
It just sounds so nuts on full chat haha! Appreciate you watching! He used to run a Audi 5 pot in there before the Impreza lump! Wonder which one would sound the best??🤔
@@ALL_4_WHEELS that Audi inline 5 sounds sweet with the right pipes too, hard call. This stuff is the best part about off roading, the crazy builds guys think up and actually wheel. Love it.
Hey Simon! Yeah it sounds awesome doesn’t it! Literally like a rally car on the trails haha! He used to have an Audi Quattro 5 pot engine before the scooby lump I would have loved to have heard that on full chat!! 😎👍
good video, only problem is can we please remember to stay out the way when winching vehicles as what i saw near the end was very silly and very dangerous.
Noted and will make sure we practice safe winching.. Thanks for watching and appreciate your comment 👍 Was it the hit where the defender was winching the VW out the ruts???..
Don't think they can, it's a right of way, they just assumed that no one's mad enough to try this on anything that doesn't have feet. At one time all the roads in Britain (except the Roman ones) were like this. Most been adopted and mettled but it is fun to exercise your 4x4 on the remaining green lanes
Not sure but it’s becoming pretty undriveable in parts..we struggled on 31” / 33” tyres! I think it would take a lot of stone to fill the lane.. It was pretty difficult to get out of the ruts.. Thanks for watching enjoy the channel..👍
@@darrenroberts89 of the five categories : Speed limits, On-street parking restrictions, Weight limits, One-way streets and banned turns, Prohibition of Driving Only the last would affect 4x4s and they must provide just cause. Don't think they'll bother for each of the hundreds of lanes. Could be wrong but I think they'd just leave it for a quiet life
Ok look at all the other lanes in the country that have had TROs put on them, I'm pretty sure quite a few of those probably fell outside the categories you're quoting. @@captainboing
no way would use one today, knowing, & seeing cable, shackles, hitches, break. we stand 3 times the distance of the length of rope.away, to stay alive..
@harrywalker968 the dyneema rope is the best, very small amount of snap back if anything fails, but I would still use a lever hoist or tirfor if I was stuck, just a bit slow and clumsy bit of kit.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it! It was good fun some steep hills and deep puddles! Which was your favourite vehicle? Part 2 will be out soon!! 👍👍enjoy the channel
if anyone is looking for one I happen to know machine mart does them in their stores( Im not affilliated to them its just info I have delt with machine mart for many years very happ with the kit they sell and the back up
Like what your doing but seems a lot of money spent on vehicles with little to no off road training undertaken. Dangerous use and handling of winches a serious accident just waiting to happen. Not a good example of off road driving. Off road driving is about stability and control with a lot of driving skill, which takes training and practice. It's not about big tyres and powering through.
100% with you on that we’re only a group of guys just going out having fun,but yes there is serous side to winches and doing it properly we learn as we go along 😎👍
@ALL_4_WHEELS General rule of winch safety, never step on or over a live cable, always use a winch safety blanket, keep area clear 2½ times radius of winch cable when winching. I've seen people dismembered and one cut in half by winch cables failing. Always happy to advise, used to instruct cross country and artic driving. Lots of people have opinions obviously but the basics are all same. Keep safe
@chriskelly6314 ooof I’m sorry to hear you’ve seen serous accidents like that! Definitely understand where you’re coming from! We are going to be doing nice routes from end January some really good views as easy going trails so hopefully no need for a winch recovery but I will take on board what you mentioned! 😎👍👍
