1st time I ever played roulette I went to a casino with my uncle. Being the unluckiest person I've ever met he placed $100 on black. Knowing he is wrong 99% of the time I placed all my $500 on red. 45 seconds later the ball stopped on green and I never played roulette again
@@richardbennett8085 did you even read the part about my uncle being the unluckiest person I know? There was a reason I bet against him, you would have to know my uncle to understand that.
I share a funny story from my life so people can get some enjoyment out of it and all you want to do is insult me? Regardless of my intelligence, what drives you to randomly hate on strangers over the internet, it makes no sense to me. I'd say it's a safe bet that this wasn't y'alls first time to act like this. Guess I should have put my $500 on that bet lol
Its actually 2 minutes of profit for 200K but thats your average casino in vegas. In macau there are certain parts of the year where casinos make 400 million a week.
if i remember rightly this guy sold his flat worth 75,000 in woodford essex to do this. The ironic thing is that now that flat would be worth about 350k.
Haha very true sir - didn't think about it that way. Also he probably was leveraged on the house at 40% let's say (very conserative, especially given the nature of the character). So 75 becomes 187.5K - with your increase of x6 that's 1.125M. Pretty shitty bet given he probably used the money to travel or some over daft shit
This was a really smart +EV decision by him. Normally If you won, you double up and if you lose you lose it all. In this case, he created a spectacle out of it, that if he lost, he'd recoup a lot of it through interview fees, book deals, etc... Pro gamblers take even small edges, and he created a huge one for himself and took it.
Not interesting enough for a book deal. Would be hard to write 300+ pages about this two minute event. You would have to spend 98% of the book on the background story of what led to this moment. If interesting enough, maybe. But probably not a market for it. Interview fees? Would never happen. Talk shows do not pay fees unless you are an "A" list actor. And even then, that is rare.
I was thinking that… like because he would of literally lost it all in such a public way, the casino might’ve slipped him the money back in the back room 🤣😂
@@sniper555100 casino would never give him the money back lmao do you think casinos care about their client? the only thing that counts for them is profits
Something tell me this was staged by the Casino, as a marketing technique to show the world everyone could be like him to win lots of money in one try.
Curtis I I don't think it was staged. Maybe they had arranged so that he won't actually lose the full amount of his bet... Maybe... Either way, there is no way the casino could guarantee that the ball will land on Red. It could've just as easily landed on Black or 0. If that happened, staged or not, it would've been a massive derp...and the video would've become a video of what not to do... Hahaha.
Curtis I Staged? As in the casino rigged the outcome? Go ahead and report them. That's called cheating and the Vegas Gaming Commission takes these matters seriously and would be issuing an immediate investigation.
It wasn't a promotion. If you actually saw his story, you'd see that his friend actually brought up the idea while drinking one day and the idea stuck in his head, and he later decided to do it. A TV channel in the UK (sky production channel) learned of it and offered to film his journey in selling all his stuff and doing the bet.
For a casino it is like buying ice-cream for you. They don't care some 100k, because they know 98% chance he will loose more than 100k later in a year or two
Connor Gaughan similarities ? Then explain. I Think you dont know what i mean! The difference between American and French Roulette are the numbers. And here the are like in American Roulette!
@@flippatheshippa are you a bit slow mentally? They said they wouldn't ever knowingly let someone bet their life savings, whilst letting someone bet their life savings, it had nothing to do with whether it was the gamblers choice or not.
i love how the pitboss says "we normally would not let someone gamble their life savings, but we know this is a grand adventure for you". Thats like saying we dont want you to go broke but your having fun.
Because it was known it was being broadcast. I know this first hand. I've played next to people whom have bet upto 100,000gbp per spin one after another without any disclosure. that's about 200,000usd no questions. The only thing they ask is to set a deposit limit. Of course it varies from casino to casino.
Yea, the casino only endorses responsible gambling. That's why they have wire transfer services and markers you can sign all night long so you can leave with your bank accounts drained and in debit up to your eyeballs.
I remember watching this live. I was so worried that he was going to lose everything on TV, but when he won, I was so relieved and angry at him for being such a psycho with his money! Metaphorically speaking however, we all gamble somewhat in life, in whether or not we go to college, what we major in if we do, who we marry, the job we take, making a right turn instead of a left. So life at times is not too far from this stunt!
Terrible analogy. We don't gamble our whole life savings when we make a right turn instead of a left, lmao. And many of those things you listed are good gambles where the odds are in your favour.
Don't gamble all you have* Gambling is fun when you're smart about it. I have played roulettle 3 seperate days this month. Won 43 then 35 and tonight I won 90. You just have to be smart about it.
xXMilkyWayXx lights lol already did lol. I sold all of my games which were up to $10,290 including ps4 ps3 ps2 ps1 xbox xbox 360 xbox one. Dream cast, sega genesis, n64, GameCube, wii, wii u, switch, SNES, NES, 4 gameboy advance, 3 DS, 2 DSi XL, 3 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, PSP. Total of almost 20,000 games in all lol. Lol and bet on 19-21 and 19 was a hit and won $123,480. Lol got all of my games back and with the extra $113,190 I still have it since I won a lot more money with it and still going up lol
Remember watching his series leading up to that in the U.K. He got a lot of tv / Radio interviews afterwards. His main passion was playing poker and he wanted to appear at the world series.
Sometimes you just have to take a chance. At this guys age, he can afford to, because he has plenty of time to make it back plus a lot more. He didn't blow it. He started his own online poker website and wins a percent of the pot every single time. Still, some call him stupid. I call him a winner. Good job Ashley Revell.
I've lost just a few hundred and had it bother me for a few days. But I have to think this guy betting over a hundred thousand was aware what his situation would be if he lost. Would still have his job, his credit, his clothes and living with his parents until he gets back on his feet. Most everyone goes broke once in their life. It's best your young if you do, and hell if your old. He did ok.
What this guy did is mathematically the best odds and way to beat the casinos. The best odds you will ever get on a casino game is playing black/red or odd/even on a roulette wheel. Because of the 0 and 00 slots, the odds hitting on red/black or odd/even slots on a roulette wheel is slightly less than 50% (47.4% to be precise). The key is to bet everything you have on that one roulette wheel spin on black/red or even/odd. Win or lose, you’re done....you must walk out of the casino. The casino house edge means that the longer you play (i.e., the more games you play) means that you will lose money. So the best odds a gambler will ever have against the house is the bet one game of roulette for all your marbles, on a 47.4% chance of success.
@@ckcox9244 My point was that a 47.4% chance on a single game to double your money is mathematically the best odds you will ever have against a casino. Name another game that has better odds.
Well why he wouldnt gamble it again? Its 50%50% just like the first time. Anyways he was gambling all he had, the smartest option is to not gamble, but if you are, gamble it as much as you want. Odds doesnt change lol.
if i had the balls to do that, i would risk the entire winnings (profit only) from the first spin again on one more spin to either leave break even or triple up.
Crazy was a bit much, and i am sorry about that. I live in an area where there is not much in terms of physical investments. I really dont understand how 270000 can set a person up to not work for the rest of there life.
As a person who never followed the directives of our new unelected overlords, I just wanted to check in on you. How are you doing, more than one year in?
+Tarik Asylum Well while playing poker you are playing against the other player, making it profitable if you are the better one (On the long run. not on a single session)
So just a little difference of like 79,750 hehe - this kind of money is nothing now (this was 2006) +Hira Shaikh - playing at 35/1 is the only way to win big, and that is exactly how I started my channel to get where I am to this very day.
All he did was imagine what he'd feel like when he'd won & then he'd shifted into that reality... The key is letting go & believing you can. How you know that there is no doubt within his mind is when he moved all of the chips onto the table invoking his 'intention', also at this very moment when the Crowd saw that he'd moved all of his chips created a 'Covenant' which is a shared 'Shift' into the reality (multi-verse of possibilities) where he'd won. The 'invocation' started when he chose Red in front of the crowd then climaxed when he'd moved all of his chips because everyone in the crowd was thinking 'I hope he wins'. The only reason the event of 'Winning' takes place is because it is being observed - similar to the 'Particle & Wave' experiment - A group of friends can invoke an 'intention' creating a 'Covenant' which is a shared agreement by rolling a Dice six times & collectively agreeing that 5 will turn up on the fifth roll. You can even count together on each roll & collectively say: 'Five' on the fifth roll.
I work in a casino AND many many years prior I wrote a book on metaphysics. Having combined the two experiences I discovered something about certain aspects of gambling few others, if any, are aware of. True story
This would now be considered a great marketing ploy! The publicity he would get on social media and he would be on every show and even sponsor his clothes, he would get 10x the return!!
this guy is me hero. i cannot believe anybody would come to such a stupid thing. but man, hes got balls like nobody i've ever seen. instantly just said red and put his whole stack. WOW
