RED RIVER GORGE | Hiking to Indian Staircase and Cloud Splitter

In this third and final video from the Red River Gorge meetup, we explore Indian staircase and hike to the top of Cloud Splitter!
Other highlights of this hike included Frog's Head Rock, Indian Arch, and Adena Arch. It was a memorable day of hiking in the Daniel Boone National Forest!

Lucky to be in such an impressive place, during such a beautiful time of year, with such a fantastic group of people! Snickers are one of my favorite trail foods... They don't get crushed easily, and I always look forward to eating them 😂

Hi Mike that was a very beautiful place with some great views and it must have been nice to have friends there too :) The autumnal colours there were gorgeous and that council chamber looked amazing as did the Indian and Adena arches. The snickers looked amazing too ! 🤭 You walked past a steep drop there and I liked that tunnel that you drove through. Then you made a good choice of breakfast out ! That was great , thanks for sharing:) ~ Anna 👍

There were so many unique natural features in this national forest! Mid October was pretty much the perfect time of year for a visit, and we got really lucky with the absolutely beautiful weather. Snickers are one of my favorite trail snacks... something I'm always happy to eat 😂 It was quite the weekend, Anna... Thanks for taking the time to follow along!

This looks like it was an awesome trip Mike - this looks so cool - the Staircase is something we have frequently heard about! The geology of that area looks fantastic! The arch was amazing - that kind of stuff is RIGHT up our alley! Loved the Cloud Splitter!

Fun to go hiking with a big group of RU-vidrs! The Indian Staircase looks a bit challenging, but the experience and the views are well worth it! Nice to see the narrow ‘goat path’ and the narrow driving tunnel! The RRG is on our wish list! Great video and explanations! 👌👍👍

I do a good bit of hiking alone, so it is fun to mix it up and hike with a group on occasion... especially a group of personalities like this! There were definitely some moments that would test those with a fear of heights (and perhaps of closed spaces), but I thought some of the extra wrinkles to these hikes were enjoyable and on a nice, dry day like this, not too technically difficult. Appreciate your time and your kind words!

Really a stunning area! The fall colors and the cliffs blended really well. Nice to have some evergreens mixed in also. The Indian and Adena Arches were also impressive. That rope climb looked fun and well worth it! Great video!

The timing of this trip was pretty fortunate... The fall color definitely brought an extra level of beauty to the gorge!
