This is a detailed overview of the 2018 v3 Red Sea Reefer sump. This sump is in ALL Red Sea tanks from 2018 onwards, apart from the 170 and nano. Buy 3D printed aquarium accessories from my Etsy store: reefdork.etsy....
Good effort, it's good to see red sea have given things some thought, hard to get it perfect but versitily is key. Might want to cover that display if you have not already, some nice wrasse in there.
Yes, absolutely - it's optional. It's just a line of 4 taps plumbed to one pump, which means I don't need to use separate pumps for various filters. But I actually only have one filter on it at the moment (UV steriliser) so it's a bit pointless! I did briefly have a phosphate reactor on it too.
Thanks - I've had trouble getting the audio right but I think I've nailed it since this video. I did one on Friday called "Top 7 Characters For Your Reef Tank". I think that's the first video where the sound is right. 👍
Thank for your video, have just found you wish I had before this. Had our system about a week now and at last got the valve to work after taking it apart and re-seating it. Our tank is the 250 so not as large as your. Can you explain about the manifold what it is for? Thanks shelagh
Yep, it's just a pipe with several outlets. You attach it a return pump then you can run several pieces of equipment from it - like a phosphate reactor, UV steriliser etc. They're diy projects but you can get help from your LFS
I'm getting a light colored furry hair on my live Rock. heard it could be bacterial bloom but just wanted to feed back. 80 gallon tank. 100 pounds of live rock and 80 pounds of sand. 4 fish a handful of coral. ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10. ca 400 alk 7.5 to 8 mag 1200. been set up for year. have about 25 turbo snails and 30ish snails. any advice?
If it's bacteria, a UV steriliser should sort it. Hard to identify without a photo though - I'd recommend posting the above info on a forum like Reef2Reef 🙂
Hi, I understand how you change the height of the water in the skimmer area but how do you increase the level of the water in the return pump area pls?
@@ReefDork thank you so much. So, nothing to do with moving any baffles, just moving the float in the return sump area? I believe that can be adjusted by moving it up or down carefully until it clicks and so will try that. Many thanks
Hi Iv just strayed across you channel great looking setup , can you tell me what power socket strips your using or possibly a link to buy them I'm looking for the same thing myself and not having any luck finding them
I actually wouldn't recommend them - if there's a power cut, it stays off until you press the on button again. So a 2 second power cut could wipe out the tank. I'll be replacing them when I can.
@@ReefDork thanks for the heads up, I found a similar thing today with remote I will now go for something different thanks again you have saved me a lot of probable pain
I would have loved a 5 foot+ tank! But I was only allowed a 4 foot. I chose this over the 425xl as I preferred the side weir and I love the look of seeing through two panes of glass. A true peninsula room divided would be amazing but I don't regret getting this over the 425.
@@ReefDork the easiest way to do it, throw that 2 inch baffle away and thigns will be better, i took mine out within 2 hours of filling my tank its nothing but a noisy aggrivation
