I honestly believe it’s time to put Bello in AAA for a bit because this has been happening for a little over month of him struggling and letting up a lot of runs and we can’t have that when we are in a playoff push

@@redseatradio I think it can be both. Pedro and Bello are both from the Dominican, share language and culture, and already have a mentor / mentee relationship. As for Bailey he has said he uses a network of people to deliver messages, that it does not need to be him. What is important is the coaching, the messaging… and if someone can reach a player more effectively I do not see Bailey being offended. In fact he may welcome it, and be reaching out to Pedro.

Noah Dean tonight,,,5 innings gave up 1 single,,0 runs 2 walks and had TEN strikeouts!! Guy has been absolutely dealing!! Only given up 4 runs in his last 6 starts...Over that span,,he's been bringing that walk total WAY down and his strikeout rate has been amazing..Very little contact...In this stretch in 26 2/3 innings he's given up only 4 runs on ELEVEN hits with almost all of them singles,,NO home runs,,has walked 11 and struck out 35 batters! Am I the only person in the world talking about this kid and the insane strides he's made with his command and control?? I'm telling you,,,Salem is loaded with guys pitching well lately....Bloom may have made some good decisions in the last two years that no one is talking about...lol

I agree Bello should go to AAA for a bit, would give him a chance to fix whatever is going wrong in a less-pressurised environment. Will show whether he's able to take advantage and return to the big time fairly soon, or alternatively demonstrate that he's not really up to it.

Bello is going through young pitchers developmental phase... These things happen. Hopefully just a glitch. There's a tendency to overthink it. Solution? Time, hard work and willingness to accept coaching. If the Redsox win next game they project to 88 wins. Thanks Corbin!!

Of course there is going to be some overthinking from every single party involved, but the only one that matters is Bello he needs to get back to just looking at the game pitch to pitch.

There is another option. They could disable him for 15 days just like they did with Martin. This may be the best way. It would give his young arm some rest. They could send him to have a rehab start or 2 without denting him. which could be a blow to his ego. The Red Sox has an open spot on their 40 man roster and they could add a starting pitcher.

The ability of the line up is sustainable no doubt The defense needs to be better consistently. The starting pitching is a concern. "Let's Go Red Sox"!!!

I think the slow offensive start was just a result of injuries, and younger players getting used to the pitching, so this current lineup is 100% sustainable!

Bello has great stuff and the ability to get hitters out. Bello’s problem is the six inches between his ears. Bello needs to toughen up mentally, easier said than done, but Bello needs to work this out himself on the mound for Boston. Bello can turn it around if he is committed.

With the momentum of success, it may be we got a little ahead of our skis on that last outing. The 3rd inning was a disaster both in defense & pitching. If we played w/out errors, who knows, we might have won it 4-2. As far as Bello goes, I think sending him down is the only option based on what he does on Weds. I don’t think this is simply a matter of confidence but of maturity. Did we jump the gun on him - kind of looks like it.

Thanks for my son's shirt! Nice shirt! You missed my point last night that Breslow is actually in a very good budget position. The RS have in 25 million buy outs + Jansen+ Martin contracts coming off their books. They are returning several injured players. Only O'Neil+Pivetta are their only decent free agents. Henry's cheapness has lulled every RS fan to sleep. Jim Riley's latest trade deadline show didn't have a RS trade idea when he had every other serious contender making one. Jansen trade rumors are being drummed up again. Look at MLB Trade Rumor Top 10 Free Agents for next year!

you have Winc and criswell to pick up the slack until Bello figures it out. The intermittent defense is by far the Achilles heal of this team. Option to AAA for Bello is definitely possible in my opinion …again it’s time to be aggressive at the deadline and I have serious doubts about that happening

Thanks for reminding me about voting. Bryan is off his game, so they will work on his head and mechanics before his next start. Cora also mentioned his fast ball was being thrown more in the 98 range recently. Let's see if they slow him down. Winchowski was excellent for the six innings he pitched after he tppk over.

Yeah I think that is absolutely part of the control issues is he is trying to add velo and really seperate that slider and changeup from that sinker but I think it is having the opposite effect

Bello and Bailey will figure this out! When they’re done Bello will have a Houck like transformation. Unfortunately it may not be in 2024 which will be maddening to Sox nation!! In the interim it wouldn’t hurt Bello if he could get some solid defensive support. I wouldn’t hate seeing Zach Kelly make a couple more starts!

Time for Pedro Martinez to get together with Bryan Bello in working on his pitching fundamentals while mentally motivating him to have more self confidence ... If he can't figure it out soon, he has two options left according to Fan Graphs and should be sent down to Worcester to get things properly figured out ...

Yeah not sure just sticking him with Pedro is the answer here. It may help, but he has to figure it out with the staff on this team. Something isn’t correlating between them and that absolutely needs to be fixed

Bello needs Triple A asap. Call in Pedro to work in and do not bring him back until he is ready and right. Bring back Crisswell. Do not know why or agree him being sent down. He was a good number 5 pitcher

Unfortunately, This should be Brayan Bello's rookie year.. Because of past year's injuries and other issues.. With that being sad, He's young, He's got a decent arm, He'll get through it. And having bad defense behind a sinker ball pitcher is kind of counter productive..

Bello definitely seems less confident. He has had a rough go of it defensively wise too. He’s not had a lot of help behind him. I don’t think Whink is the answer, but it may help him hit the reset button.

I absolutely Bello is a huge problem for this team since they are already thin at starting pitching. There's no easy answers but giving him extra time is the right thing to do. If he doesn't improve sending him to Worcester might need to happen. Maybe he'll get himself together time will tell!

I think he needs to go to AAA for a bit. He's in his head and needs to get out of it. Being in the majors doesn't help as I think he's trying too hard. Especially when he get's into a jam. He needs to relax, get his confidence back or we'll continue to get bad starts from him. Though I'd give him one more start to see if he can turn things around. If not Criswell should be available to come back (I think) so you can swap them for each other.

I just haven’t been impressed with Bello since season start. He either needs to go back to AAA or maybe a bullpen position might be better but he’s just getting hit all over the place every game…so I don’t know. He also throws a tantrum on the mound when he gives up a big hit or run. Which is not a good look. It’s gonna happen. Hitters are going to beat you from time to time and if you can’t handle it, this is not the place for you.

In all fairness Kutter has given the Sox 2 quality starts in a row 6 innings 3 runs both time and his ERA is a mid 3 that is exactly where he should be. He hit a rough patch he’s not in the same category as bello

I said this in middle of April when you and everyone in media were talking about how good this rotation could be and has been - everyone from coach to new PBO Breslow said Sox biggest need is Pitching and they needed to acquire 1-2 starters and he acquired none - Gio even if had been healthy was off set by Sale lost and I don’t consider Criswell a legit starter Bello is still maturing and developing Nick is inconsistent Kutter is starting to come back down to earth and Houck is the only legit starter they have And to put a sour face on this June happy note there is an article by Jon Tomase today is The Red Sox could be sellers likely because ownership will not approve any expenditures.

@@redseatradio except back in end of April everyone talked about their staff being the strength of this team and all u needed to do was see the competition back then Now Tanner has been a very pleasant surprise an All Star no doubt and right now in talks for Cy Young The Sox of yet as you know have been led by likes of Duran ( all star worthy) Wong - wow never expected him to be star from that terrible Betts trade & Hamilton (I too am waiting for that next show to drop with him but it has not yet ) And Cora pushing all the right buttons too bad he’s leaving after this year

You are NOT being a homer by recommending continuing to work with Campbell. He was good in Seattle last year and great in AAA this year (and in all the minor leagues over 4 years) in larger samples than the measly 6.2 innings he's had in Boston. I'm tired of people making snap judgments about players based on their first short stint with the Sox. Pedroia is the most famous example. Commenters called for him to be traded based on his weak first couple of months. But there have been lots of others. What's the downside with keeping Campbell? Giving fewer innings to the last guy in the bullpen in Worcester? Puh-leez. He has as much potential as several others in AAA. So see what you can do with him.

Bello looks terrible , he has a major league fastball , but his control is A league , his performance is very disappointing and I agree it is a mental issue for sure , I hope he gets back. he needs to go down to AAA , no point sending him out there and getting furthur demoralized .

An intermittently 4 man rotation with only one real standout starter has gotta be putting a lot of pressure on every one of those starters, and especially with narratives (correctly) identifying red sox starter pitching as one of the key factors endangering any chance of contending this year. It’s not a good spot for him to improve. There’s a good chance that another team with a more stable roster or time in triple A could get him where he needs to be to keep his career on track, but right now I’m not seeing it with the sox. If he keeps pitching these games, he’s not gonna get better. Again, time will tell. I’m sure the guys on the pitching staff are trying their best to keep him together. But out on the field its looking pretty pessimistic

They have exceptional coaches which could likely include Pedro to help him. When you consider Bello has had success to draw from he still has confidence enough to recover from bad times. There is no reason to trade him.
