Even if I was looking for a sensor box, I wouldn’t support RED. They’re a racket holding the entire market back because of their patent trolling practices.
I mean, what would you do if you and your team or...YOU figured out how to achieve '12 bit apple pro res RAW compressed'?. Their not holding the industry back..the other companies are holding themselves back...same way they achieved..unlocked a new CHI..other companies can do the same in different areas
@@kadeemcvisions But the thing is... They didn't. They used an old format created years prior to package the data and then changed a line of text (which does absolutely nothing) to fit into a loophole of the patent system.
@@kadeemcvisions you would be correct if that were the case, but from what I understand, a company can develop a compressed RAW codec from scratch but still fall victim to RED. This is because RED has a chokehold on compressed RAW *in general*, which is insane. There is no code nor design being taken from RED but they still demand royalties while doing absolutely no work in the development of novel compressed raw codecs.
