ISTG HER BEING A HISTORY NERD IS SO FITTING CONSIDERING HER EXECUTION WAS BEING BURNED LIKE A WITCH LIKE OMGG DANGANRONPA U HAD SM TO DO, also adding to her speaking of past history events it would be even more interesting if during trials she would talk or taunt the blackened with chess moves and smth like that, also she had GREAT potential of being one of the most morally grey characters where she can be super helpful with evidence but u would have to reward her with smth just as good (like information u have on monokuma, which could help her with deducing theories, or even answering a question that she would have on the school or other students, which can tie into her eventual insanity and desperation into wanting to leave the school, which can make the money be her catalyst into setting a murder plan with the intel she has) bc she deems it to be valuable assets and wants a recompense, like omgg the potential her character could've hadd ughhhhg ｡･ﾟ･(ﾉД`)･ﾟ･｡

I love this redesign and your rewrite to make her a evil nerd! The character changes are very nice, and it would help her be less of an obvious killer (as soon as she started getting attention in ch3 I instantly knew she'd done it, because she's so obviously evil) And my lord, do I agree with you "make Celestia and Makoto" foils thing. Honestly DR is a master of seeing foils and NOT doing anything with them. I'm baffled that Celeste and Kiyotaka weren't both major characters, since Celeste could foil Makoto and Taka literally stands against Hope's Peak' entire mentality on talent.
You should totally do redesigns with v3, like characters all wearing school uniforms is so impractical with their talents :/ and even the ones who aren't may benefit from more visual appeal (Kokichi, kiibo, kaede,)
I honestly think it would be really cool if she became part of the standoffish group with Toko and especially Byakuya, because they both have a similar rich, I’m better than you vibe. At the very least I think they should play off of eachother in some way even if they’re not friends, maybe byakuya and Celeste actually hate eachother or something, idk. I’d do anything to add more friend groups into Danganronpa in general. I really like your redesign, though! The art was amazing, and while I think fully taking away her luck aspect changes her character a bit too much to a certain extent, I like the rewrite of her personality to make her hide her secrets in a less obvious way!!!
i think another way of making celestias luck gimmick more nuanced and interesting would be if she could control when her good luck applies and have her luck be a finite resource so she can't spam it all the time. it would mean having to strategize specific moments when her luck would be the most potent and add to the skill you already need to be a good gambler at card based games. good vidyo btw bestie ya COOKED

It is my first time seeing your films and I'm huge fan of Danganronpa and I think Celeste is in my top 3 female design she stands with Sonia Nevermind and Ibuki Mioda and your redesign are looking on her character on different angle and it is good but I prefer her in her gothic Lolita vibe but still really good
Am I wrong into thinking that she gained good gambling skills and became such an amazing manipulator/liar BECAUSE she has such a lack of control over her talent. If anything I feel like a large portion of Celeste’s intentions and decisions I believe comes from the sake of a hyperfixation on control. Controlling how others view her, other people’s actions, further control over her skills beyond a luck factor, control over the individuals she allows to be within her life to a ROBOTIC and transactional way of partnership and bond to protect her own ego and disillusioned sense of superiority over others. Call it narcissistic but she clearly feels as if she can indeed control others, micromanage everything and that she has power in a sense. Power over the thoughts and perceptions of others in particular when it comes to her own image and the perspective of her perceived capabilities. In all fairness I feel like her design was threatening cause the character herself wished to be viewed as such. As intimidating, powerful, collected and superior to others even in a life and death situation. Seizing moments to make others (and herself) believe she has control by establishing a night time rule, feigning acceptance of her situation and sly remarks of manipulation to influence others. Love the redesign anyways it’s really beautiful I just always thought both design and character wise it was intentional to make an irony of such a sinister character have such little power in a sense beyond the power to influence and lie to others to utilise themselves for her. Like with how she pulled off her murders in the first place. She’s calculated and manipulative to a T to the point of manipulating herself and portraying the fragile illusion of Celestia Ludenburgs grandeur, which is why the meltdown and fall of her is so messy up until she finally realises its all over and even in those last moments still upholds this level of fantastical mentality to accept her execution and seem only mildly phased by her identity being revealed. The Queen of Liars truly, to lie to others and herself about her true feelings, intentions and major insecurity issues even in the brink of death. There’s this cool video by someone but I forgot the name of channel but they made a video on Celeste really psychoanalysing her character and coming to this conclusion that she really is so overly fantastical with her lies about her identity, life and person to give security to herself and control around her. Which is why it’s so fragile and easily broken when pried too much in the trial or brought to an extremely intense emotional state. Either way design wise I loved that they went with a Gothic Lolita personally, made her stand out and I adore the fashion style personally. Whilst also having the design not be too restrictive and even have a slight academic feel with the top and tie to relate her back to the school killing game environment.
Sorry if this is rude, but I prefer the original design. The gothic aesthetic fits in with the character's story, of wanting to be different to the point of even falsifying her name and accent. She doesn't want to be a generic Japanese girl, she wants to be rich, with a gothic castle and vampire servants! So her gothic lolita look is perfect for the fantasy she wants to live. So sorry, but the original design represents her character better. Your redesign is still good, it just doesn't give me the vibe that it's supposed to be the same character, sorry ;-;
Yeah, like there's so much fundamentally wrong with this video that I'm surprised how well it was received. Like from saying a gothic lolita has a "doll aesthetic which scares people to not properly researching Renaissance fashion & not understanding Celeste at all despite saying she's a fan... It's aggravating to be completely honest.
I love her, especially her character overall but the fact she’s the ultimate gambler and liar was not conveyed well. Compared to Kokichi who lied constantly and you couldn’t tell if it was true or not. I will give them the benefit of the doubt since THH was the first game.
I absolutely adore your redesign of Celeste. I swear- Danganronpa wasted some potential with its writing. If it was rewritten today, or if I did a rewrite, it’d be with a darker more psychological horror route with maybe OMORI in mind as some inspiration. Bright and whimsy that drastically contrasts the grim and uncomfortable scenario the characters are trapped in. I’ve always felt like the fan service stuff clashed with the story.😭 like- y’all can make a very good game WITHOUT fan service.
I feel like Junko ( albeit weird because she's still canonically a STUDENT ) being sexualized is part of her character and in a way is a twist to how it only adds more agency to her. Unlike characters like Hina or Akane who have absolutely no reason to be sexualized aside from fanservice; I read Junko's design as using it to her benefit. Her character ( before the reveal ) is presented as a 'ditzy air-headed fashionista who has no agency of her own in a situation like a killing game' when in reality she's the opposite of that, And I feel like she wears her 'appeal' and perceived naivety as 'eye-candy' as a weapon against those who'd underestimate her just because of preconceived notions about her character. That all being said, She is still a HIGH SCHOOLER so outside of in universe 'reasons' her being sexualized is putting us- the audience in a weird spot where she's still meant to appeal to the male gaze design wise. I feel like a redesign of her would be fun, I really like the cheetah print coat look she has going from the V3 anime it gives high fashion vibes.
@@PeskyFrowny I agree, I would also point out that in the japanese rather than fashionista, she's the ultimate gyaru, which is a fashion style that tends to be pretty revealing (Though they could have gone for a more kogal look which would have been less revealing)
