Name ideas for Pipp! Phoebe (like the bird) Drizzle as a full name and Pipp Drizzle as a shortened version, like Zipp being canonically named Zephyrina Storm! Edit: Pheobe Dazzle works too if Drizzle is too out of place!

Zipp definitely started as a bit of a Rainbow Dash knockoff, but she actually very quickly became more of her own character and probably the only one of the whole group with so much unique characterisation. She isn't actually into flight/being speedy so much as she is interested in solving mysteries - she even becomes a detective in the show. Sure, she likes flying, but it's not her *thing*.
I think Zipp didn't start as a Rainbow Dash knockoff. She was conceived as science and sport lover. In MLP: ANG we can see Zipp's mathematical and physical calculations on the board in air balloon station
I always headcanon that Pipp is just her nickname. I’ve always imagined her full name being “Petunia Petals”. I say petunia because they are also purple like her and because purple petunias symbolize Royalty and Luxury which absolutely fits with her character and her interests. Hope this could help you with choosing Pipp’s new name.
honestly I would love it if they were descendants of Flurry Heart/Princess Cadence. Considering Cadence was once a pegasus before becoming an alicorn, it would make sense for her descendants to also be pegasi. Plus the pink and white in both Zipp and Pipp's design adds to that possibility of them being descendants!

A big part of Zipp's character in the shows is her love for mysteries and detective work, i think that could have been a more interesting cutie mark than the original

I like it too! although it kind of reminds me of that one pegasus from Starlight's village with the dark blue coat and white mane but they look different enough and she's just a background character anyway so it's fine.
I think one thing I really dislike about the original designs, and especially Zipp, is how much their manes look like just... hair. They've all got regular hairlines and everything. This is mostly an issue in the 3d version, but if you showed someone just their heads, it would almost look like human chibi heads with funky colors. Even their muzzles are so short and shaded so subtly, they simply don't look like horses.
yes. I think the design team was trying too hard to make them look more human to subconsciously get us to relate to them more? I don't know.. but they are supposed to be horses make them horses.
Name idea for pip maybe, Periwinkle Oriole. Periwinkle is a purple flower and oriole is a yellow bird like the gold on her. Another idea is Oleander Hazel. Oleander specifically being purple oleander, is a poisonous yet beautiful plant that grows in warm climates almost all year round, and Hazel is a small tree, bearing prominent male catkins in spring and round hard-shelled edible nuts in autumn. as much as I like that name, we already have Sunny STARscout, and i'm not sure if inkiio intends to keep the name or not but it does match with pip's royalty and kind of leans into her being a singer or pop"star" if you will.
fr..I don't know if you are referring to her mane or not, but it's so ugly it looks like she's bald and tried to hide it by wearing a wig. nothing against pixie cuts, I loved scootaloo's hair but Zip's hair looks like a cheap wig with too much hair gel...
I can't say I was ever into mlp but I watched the new movie when it came out and I remember 0% of it, that's how boring it was😭😭 I LOVE these designs tho, they're much more pleasing to the eye imo
The idea of them all getting their cutiemarks at the end would have been so awesome yoooo. Like they get their magic back but then get their cutie mark magic back simultaneously. Hell yeah, also your redesign for Zipp is actually incredible. Like I think it's more canon then ever and I really adore it and wanna make fanart of it. It's amazing!! Zephyr looks PERFECT. I love her redesign the most. I haven't watched the movie or show or whatever and I honestly didn't even know she was a girl 💀 Idk what was with the toothpaste motifs in all the color schemes of the g5 ponies but I'm so glad you're fixing them lol.
So I'm a very casual MLP fan and had never heard of Zephyr Breeze so I go to look him up as you're finalizing colors on Zephyr Storm just to find that he's also tealy and blonde and I think its pretty neat that the name Zephyr makes people think about teals and yellows and humans are just fun lil guys sometimes. I love your videos and your art
These redesigns are supper cool! I love the contrast between the two, but your struggle with Zipps cutie mark reminded me of something. I watched some of the show and I feel like Zipps canon cutie mark makes absolutely NO sense. They show her as being a detective, she's very perceptive and likes to look out for details and notices subtle changes, that's when her cutie mark glows and the cutie marks glow when they're doing something connected to their purpose or talent, but she's got a lightning bolt? Make it make SENSE Sorry for the little rant the show just bugs me a bunch and i feel like of all things, the cutie marks could've been done so much better
Maybe Pipp could have the name "petals" as something more symbolic than literal, her wings are very soft so they seem like flower petals and her status as a princess could be associated with beauty and delicacy, like a flower and its petals.
I really love Zip's redesign! Your colors definitely suit her more than the official ones. Also I know you didn't watch the show but in that she ends up playing a huge detective role, she's almost like the main character. It lowkey comes out of nowhere but it would be cool to see that incorporated in her design
I love these redesigns! My only “gripe” is Zephyr’s cutiemark. It’s very creative yes, but in the show (and I know you didn’t watched it so i’m not upset or anything) Zipp absolutely does not want to be queen, not even a princess. She hates the idea and would rather be a detective!! If you were to revisit these designs I think a detective spyglass with a lightning bolt through it would look really unique and still keep the charm of the cutiemark you made while still having it be Zipp’s actual interest (cause thats what cutiemarks are) Not upset though!! Like I said these redesigns are amazing and i’ve been looking forward to part 2 of them :)
Imo, that begs the question; why is CANON Zipp’s cutie mark a lightning bolt & a crown?? As you stated, she doesn’t want anything to do with being royalty, so why the crown? I suppose it could be argued that ALL of the royal direct lineage just get crowns no matter what… but that doesn’t really feel convincing. And why a lightning bolt? In the past, lightning bolts have specifically been associated with fast or high-difficulty flying. It was mostly wonder bolts that had them. I guess that fits well enough, except how did she earn a cutie mark related to those things _before she could fly??_ Why isn’t her inquisitive/skeptical nature & hope to be a detective represented at all?

Not what they like or job they are supposed to have ( although the two can and more than often do connect) Yes zipp likes being a detective and would much rather have that as a job then being queen. but assuming gen 5 follows the same cutie mark rules as gen 4. Being a detective isn't zipp purpose in life it's something else
@@NinjagoLover-zc3qv yes, exactly. there is obviously proof to this statement as diamond tiara and silver spoon's cutie marks represent their wealth and status not their interests or their job. same could be said for a lot of the other characters. like snails, the snails represent a part of his personality not his interest in snails. also in one the episodes of G4 where applebloom says something along the lines of, "what if I get a cutie mark I don't like?" (I think this is in the season 2 episode cutie pox, but correct me if i'm wrong.) that proves that a cutie mark could represent anything about you even something you don't like about yourself. like in zip's case being royalty. because why would applebloom say that if you can only get it for things you LIKE to do? you could argue that applebloom was just being irrational but as far as I remember scootaloo and sweetie belle gave her very vague responses not doubting any of her claims. so in conclusion the crown is fine and honestly speaks volumes about zip's character as it is important to know she doesn't want to be royalty.
@@LilacWishes I think zipp disinterest for being a royal/queen mostly comes from the fact that zipp doesn't believe she can be a queen in her own way as well as the fact zipp doesn't like to be in the limelight As zipp said in mym chapter one ( I believe) it's less about her wanting to be royal but more than she doesn't want to follow the rules/ set Beliefs that her mother has for her being queen (and her people) and is scared/worry how they would take it if she goes it " her own way) Another reference pointing to zipp feeling this way is in the tyt Short about sunny mom before sunny went into the scrapbook zipp was seemingly up all night looking through the old Zephyr heights book trying to find a past queen who did the royal thing differently Zipp Also unlike her mother and sister ( kinda the whole main cast really) doesn't like the limelight. Zipp much rather stay to her self then go out and do big social events and stuff ( I actually made a comment { not on this video through} pointing out that zipp could have a mild form of anxiety/ social anxiety due to her lack of interest of doing social relate things And well as we know being a queen means a lot of social interaction ( especially now considering the 3 races are United) But those are just my theories for zipp disinterest for being queen/royal

i really like the name melody songbird - for your design- combining both the 'songbird' elements and also the singer aspect. also birds relate to the flapper aspect her original design used - flapper as in waving arms up and down like a bird. i love all your designs so much i wish they were real. they have so much character and are just so pleasing to the eye. they look like real my little pony designs and your colour choices are just perfection.
Pipp's character design is honestly the only one i really like? Making her look like a flapper and have her wings be the feather fans is so big brain? I just wish they musically stuck to her theme, instead of making her another pop girlie -_-
I think that the “Storm E. Skies” and “Cloud E. Skies” names from Lalaloopsy were so cute, so something similar for them would be nice. Maybe something like Crystal or Diamond Skies might work for her (plus Diamond reminds me of Diamond Tiara)
I think what makes the most sense for a rename of Pipp is something music related to tie back into her cutie mark. No ideas for the last part of the name but something like Aria or Arietta could work

The headband is actually a really fun aspect of Pipp’s design in my opinion because it draws inspiration from how performers back in “the olden days” or whatever wore headbands, and plus it’s literally just her tiara tilted sideways
Lilly Whistles i think would be a cool name. Lily like the flower to keep the subtle flower thing? and cause it sounds like a princess name to me and then Whistles because she's a singer :) Phoebe, orchid, harmony, and lavender were other names i liked but couldn't put together
Fun designs as usual! For Pip's name, I was thinking of words in music so I came up with, Polyphonic Petal (Pip could be her nickname), and Cadence Petal.
I’m thinking that Pipp Petals should be changed to Lavender Melody (lavender as in the color not the flower) because it would make sense since she is a singer. I don’t watch a lot of mlp gen 5 so I don’t know much about it, but I do enjoy watching RU-vid artists creating redesigns of the original mlp characters or even make up their own characters in the show. That said keep up the good work because your art is amazing ❤
Banger desings! Zip definitely needed more distinction from dash, and you nailed it (i was liking the more purpley design but the blue n yellow really hit) Im excited to see the next one when you get to it. In my personal redo of gen 5 in my head i have hitch be more ranger-y instead of a sheriff (also making rangers be the prevalent authority figures) cause it connects to him supposedly being an animal guy
fun part is that I'm really attached to the headcanon that Rainbow Dash is related to Celestia, and love making or reading AUs and stories where she's just straight up Celestia's daughter. and then here comes Zipp, crown princess of the pegasi and very clearly based on Rainbow Dash

Fun fact, that’s actually not a headband on Pip. It’s her crown. She wears it sideways. It’s a cool detail, but I was kind of confused on why when I learned the fact, because not only does Pip keep her salon pretty organized (so why would she want her crown crooked?) but it seems like she takes great pride in being a princess, so it would have made more sense for her to keep her crown on display the right way? Like I get that it’s a style thing, but I feel like it would have contradicted so well with Zip’s lack of a crown at all? But I digress. I do love that Pip was shorter and chubbier than the other ponies in the show though. Zip (alongside Sunny) was actually my favorite in the show and movie, but that could be because I gravitate towards the gayest looking character in media and have a special place in my heart for anything that reminds me of Rainbow Dash 💀

(As Big Mac would say) Though I do feel like their personalities, goals, and things they enjoy differ And also for the Izzy and Pinkie argument Their base personalities are similar; but that’s just looking at their BASE personalities Pinkie is the “sunshine” character because she wants to see others happy Izzy is the the “sunshine” character because she wants to be happy in-spite of her situation (Keep in mind I’ve only watched the movie not the series) In the movie (from what I can remember) Izzy isn’t seen trying to make others happy directly ; she’s seen making the best of things as they are. And Physics don’t apply to Pinkie so she can’t be sad 🤷 ANYWHO GREAT ART AS ALWAYS

I actually have a name for Pip- Pia Fortune "Pia" explanation - It's a reference to Piano, which for music is a sign to play softer or even less loud. "Fortune" explanation - 'Forte' is the opposite of piano in music, playing more loudly. Fortune also fits with the royal association with how your redesign of the siblings has more gold involved. Princess Pia Fortune is my final choice, I rest my case, your honor. /hj
I have a suggestion to a new name to pip pedals and I would go with Dawn Songbird and the reason for this name is when looked up dawn colour palette it kinda suitable to your redesign colour palette.
it absolutly would not work for your redesign of her, but i named my Pipp redesign Pepper Haven. Haven is the family name an Pepper is there to highlight her sass, i then used the name Pipp Petals as her online alias/stage name. bonus: she chose Pipp as part of her alias because she was inspired by Zipp's nickname, looking up to them

ones without screens are gonna be cheaper but way harder to use in my opinion, i don’t have a specific recommendation but you should look into getting one from a brand like huion or gaomon secondhand from somewhere like ebay! they’ll be a lot cheaper and since they’re from a reputable brand much more likely to last longer than something cheaper from somewhere else. it’s more sustainable too! do some research and find a model you like and try to find a good deal on it secondhand!
Some names ideas i heard for pipp from a RU-vidr: Marzi's alt Is that like zipp her "full name " could be a longer form of greek name Like " Persephone petals" or going in more like with zipp original name " perspherine ruby petals" ( ruby coming in from the fact in some dubs that pipp name as both of the names have a connection to the spring and the wind like zipp full name
I never liked Pips wings personally they always bothered me. I adore you're redesign she's very cute Love how Zephyr looks like evil colgate in some parts of the coloring I love her design They're very very cute, 12/10 🐴🐴
One thing that I don't like about g5 is that there is too much purple/pink in there designs like Izzy and pip are very similar in color especially when next to each other. The only striking color palette out of the 5 is hitch with his yellow and bright green. We need more color diversity instead of blueish, purple and purplish pink.
