ULTRA PRO TIP: You can disable adds system-wide in all Xiaomi phones, including Redmi of course. Just disable recommendations on the app that shows the add, you do that on the app's setting. If you wanna go step further you can even disable the msa service running in the background! Thumbs up so everyone can see! 👍👍
I'm just walking through Old town of Budva, taking photos when all of a sudden BAM! TT with a full review of this awesome device. Sunny day, 22 degrees outside, what more can you get xD Awesome!
Bought my Redmi Note 7 in 2019. When the RN8 and RN9 came out, I felt I wasn't missing much. With RN10, I'm envious! 🙂 Always-on AMOLED screen and 120Hz, wow.
For me the biggest reason to upgrade from RN7 was the memory, The RN7 got slower and slower because of memory degradation (eMMC), UFS memory like the RN10PRO shouldn't have this issue and I hope I can keep it for very long as I still use 3.5mm daily and sadly nobody will include 3.5mm in the near future
Same here I have my Redmi Note 7 and it's still brilliant but hey 128 GB, AMOLED and a higher megapixel with wide-angle snapping? it was worth it and i got it as a gift too. my only issue is that I can't record calls on it.... That's what the RN7 has.
@TT: hi Chris, just a note: Mediatek GPS can reach _below_ 1(one!) meter GPS accuracy, whole GPS family is waiting for new GPS software/apps that can handle 'decimeters'. Good review 👍‼️
I LOVE THIS NOTE 10 PRO. It's the OIS is only lacking but It's good to hear that it has EIS in the front cam. The 5G for me isn't relevant yet. I'm still satisfied with 4G. Great honest review!
Why is no one talking about the yellowish whites it displays. You get close to natural whites only when the brightness is set to 100%. And of course, that would drain battery quicker
You're amazing, it has JUST been announced and you've already made a review!! I want this phone a lot, at least from what I've seen, and now I may want it even more... I always wait for your reviews to be sure. :P Thank you!
Ha. You synced the photo transitions with the music beat again. Love it. Thanks for another great review. Most underrated channel on RU-vid, in my opinion.
@@Techtablets I wonder if that silver ring around the front-facing camera is to accommodate some privacy regulation somewhere, requiring cameras to be noticable?
Wow, the review came out so quickly , congrats for a fantastic job as always , can't wait for your review of the K40 Pro and the Realme GT,and if possible the Meizu 18 Pro and Vivo S9 with the new Dimensity 1100
Great in-depth review as always, Chris. As far as I know, you're the only reviewer who mentions the audio bitrate in videos. How likely do you think it is they will improve this through a software update? It's honestly the only downside to this phone for me
I am really impressed with Redmi Note 10 series particularly the Pro Max even more than K40 series despite being classified under mid-range series with no 5G connectivity. Definitely an incremental upgrade from Redmi Note 9 series.
I just got the phone, so far it's amazing. I might be a bit biased though, because I'm not a big expert on phones, I pretty much use it for basic things and I usually always used Samsungs, but I'm loving this one
The most in depth review videos around on RU-vid. Well done and thank you! I was almost going to instantly buy this but I decided to wait for Redmi's first gaming device that they announced to be working on for sometime later this year. I can see great value in that as well. If it ends up being too expensive or something is off about it then this phone right here will be the one to go for instead. The bronze (orange) version! :)
@@JPnielsen it is still a flagship display for midranger. Until competitors came up with similar price range but with better display, then it is different story.
with a custom ROM like lineageos (which is essentially stock android), this would be a top-notch offering from Xiaomi. you really can't trust MIUI updates at this point, they'll fix a few issues and then break more stuff, it's a complete lottery
did the same with all my xiaomi's phones, currently with mi 10 lite, slapped an aosp rom on it, best experience i've ever had by far, everythig works no lags or problems, i recommend people to unlock the bootloader and try aosp roms to get the best out of xiaomis hardware
Hey Chris, thanks a lot for this detailed review. Amazing job, as always!! Do you have any clue, why the Redmi Note 10 Pro performs so much worse than the Poco X3 in terms of battery life (11h20min vs 15h54min)? Same chipset (732G), almost same battery capacity (5020mAh vs 5160 mAh), same refresh rate (120Hz), same software (miui 12), so it all goes down to the power consumption of the display. I always thought AMOLED displays are by far more energy-efficient than LCD displays. Hope you'll find the time to quickly answer my question. Have a great day!
Wow I noticed the dynamic range is really good, can shoot the subject and the clouds without over or underexposing them, this a camera beast mid range phone, Redmi Note 10 Pro is really a balanced phone.
96kbps is ridiculously low. I am not recording a podcast, I'm recording video! Aside from that and the lack of stabilization it's really good tho. Great review Chris 👍.
This phone in a lot of ways puts flagship phones from the big companies to shame , generally good phone with 3.5 mm headphone Jack , SD card , a protective case in the box , and a charger !
Considering this now as it's at a great price currently. Did any of the issues mentioned ever get fixed in firmware i.e. EIS at higher than 1080p in photo or video and an increase in audio quality?
It would be really nice and totally encompassing all aspects if you could give us view of size of feel phone by comparing and standing it next to other size variant models such as s9, note9 or oppo reno 4 nubia red magic, just to see how it looks compared to different size models , if possible, Your reviews are objectively the best as it is, and I always comment suggest on up and coming tech reviewers channel to follow your objectivity format etc
I love Xiaomi’s value, but hate that “artificial” segmentation. It shouldn’t be impossible to put 4k EIS or better audio bitrate just because it’s mid-range. Still good value, just a little bit annoying there.
@@shyhrk but that's hardware, 4k eis and 320kbps bitrate can be done by a simple software update. I am pretty sure sa 720G can handle that easily but hey still a great phone and usually I do my videos on 1080p as it is only for social media and we all know social medias compresses video quality but I do hope Xiaomi will give us an update on the audio bitrate atleast, 96 is just too low
@@spanishsausage4731 Um, I think you're kinda missing the point. I meant that the hardware is clearly capable, but they don't make it available just because it's for "middle-range smartphone". But I really do hope they'll give the phone those features, though...
I just ordered this phone, thanks to this excellent review and Amazon Prime Day sales. At under £199 it replaces my loyal old Huawei Honor Note 10, whose updates stopped at Android 9.1. Thanks Chris, you're always my go-to tech reviewer.
Enjoy it's a great phone for the price. But the new 12.5 update has been quite buggy, I hope it's fixed soon. I'll maybe post an update video. Just I worry as soon as I do the update will come and fix it all rending my video useless!
@@Techtablets Your fans will understand. The phone seems to be a worldwide hit, and your reviews certainly got me interested. As you say, let's hope any bugs will be temporary.
@@Techtablets The phone arrived yesterday, but my old Honor Note 10 definitely has the better screen (without a hole, too) and louder speakers. The Pro has better cams, of course. Hmmm...
@@irfanbasha5338 Would cost more. This is a budget phone you buy for the AMOLED. I'm ok with it existing for those who don't want to pay for 5G. I just wanted a version with AMOLED and 5G.
It would cannibalise sales of the Mi 10T Lite if they added a 5G chipset and offered the AMOLED screen. The only reason there is a 5G phone in the line up is because it's cheaper and has a worse chipset and screen.
I see no real faults in this phone, besides a little bit of an older, underpowered processor. And really no 5G. I can deal with the processor. It is just the no 5G that sucks. Otherwise this phone is a fantastic value! I would have gladly paid a bit more to get a better processor and 5G support. It then would have truly been a flagship killer!
Xiaomi raising the bar again at this price point. 108mp camera, 33w fast charging, Amoled display, HI Res Audio, and stereo speakers. Samsung, Motorola, Oneplus, etc, etc will be forced to raise their game in this price segment.
I ALWAYS LOVE YOUR FULL REVIEW... 1 of the most i love is when you explain about the EIS or OIS with front and back video shots... YOU ARE ONLY ONE OF TECH REVIEWER MENTION IT AND GIVE US A EXAMPLE... THANK YOU VERY MUCH. 🤗❤️
Just gone an ordered one. That's two items now you have reviewed this and the iplay 40 tablet that I've bought since seeing your reviews. You should become a salesman Chris 😊😊😉
I have the 6/128GB Note 9S/Pro global version with the 720G and have a love and hate relationship with the fingerprint reader. I always trigger it in some way when I don't want it to. There needs to be a option to only read prints when you press the button. The TPU cases they include are great, the phone had several drops to concrete floors leaving only the case scuffed and scratched up. How are OLED based display today with fade and burn-in? I like to get a phone with one but I tend to hang on to tech more years than others do.
Damn that is some detailed review man.... Not just words but also datas and graphs which makes it more solid... You deserve more attention. Take love brother 💙
Yes finally a replasement for my max 3, have been using it for a long time woth a cracked screen due to finding no replasement phone that i liked, until now.!! I will buy this! Thanks for another excellent review!
@@Techtablets ok here i see. But the Mi 10 lite with snapdragon 765 5G for 279$, is probably a better deal (got it for my father). Then it would be interesting a cam comparison between both. Not sure that the 108 mp makes the difference....
Love reviews that Chris does. He got me hooked on Xiaomi phones years ago, and I go to his videos whenever I want to know about them and have a honest reviews. Good job, keep up the good work.
@@TheAaronJP because people hate mediatek, most people have prejudice about Mediatek that they only have inferior SoCs compared to Qualcomm. Only Tech Enthusiasts like us understand how significantly Mediatek has improved over time.
Hey man, love your videos. Especially the bit rate part. I was wondering if you could release the bit rates for the new xiaomi phones that you test so I could compare them based on that spec alone. To me that's such an important aspect when purchasing a phone.
@@Techtablets Thanks to Reply👍 they Claim that Redmi Note 10 Pro Max & Redmi Note 10 (INDIAN Variant) at 1200nits. REDMI NOTE 10 (INDIAN variant) 1100nits.
killing apps in the background is soo stupid.. just let them be, it's a 5000mah battery. ehenever i pick up a non miui phone i just remember how fast everything feels when you dont have to constantly wait for the damn apps to load..
Wow, you can tell this was a review of a unit Xiaomi sent for free. Praising a €270 4G phone in 2021. What a joke. Should've been 5G, Dimensity 820 or even a Dimensity 1000. Instead they're using the same processor as they did in the Poco X3 6 months ago
I'm a Realme/Oppo fanboy but daamn! Xiaomi is doing the impossible with this particular model. Bit pricey for me personally, so I gotta ask Chris, will you maybe review the Note 10S maybe? The Note 10 5G looks promising too!
Hi, I've been using my Poco F1 for the last 18 Months on my channel, I found the video quality to be very good, as well as sound quality, so I was considering upgrading to the Poco F3 now after seeing your review on that. But you did say in that review, you thought this Redmi may be better regarding video? So would you suggest this Redmi,,,, or the Poco F3 for my needs? (I do not game on my phones, or even use them for browsing too often - so more important is the video for my channel) Thanks :)
Ola! Great video and advice Chris. Thanks a lot. Am needing to purchase a mid ranger immediately and don't need the latest. Just a solid Bluetooth connection for watch, earbuds at the same time. Did you check the Bluetooth out mate? If it's solid I can nip off and purchase this immediately. I think it's a brilliant all rounder. Thanks again.
Nice video bro, nice to hear a kiwi with tech videos. Xiaomi hardware always promise so much, but are let down by the buggy MIUI and advertising in system apps. Do the notification icons disappear again when you schroll? Why don't they release these phones with stock android?
It's been quite a while since I was excited about a Redmi phone. Fell in love with AMOLED on my current temporary Samsung M21 - I love the screen, but hate the terrible camera ;) Great review, as always! Thanks a lot :)
Excellent Review, Man! Very detailed, can't think about notable omissions, I think I got enough info. Just one exception, isn't it possible to disable the Sistem Adds?
Great review! Just bought the phone, love it, I had bought the Asus Zenphone 8 beginning of August, which is now replaced by the Redmi, which is a BETTER phone overall, especially after the upgrade to MUI 12.5.4, amazing value! Keep up the good professional work.
