Hey Chaps! What did you think of the Note 10 Pro?? (Note: all tests run with pre release software) For $279.. do you reckon it's a good deal?? Correction: it uses Samsung E4 OLED, not M4 OLED used in s21 👍
@@iggmeister4137 It's such a good device with software update up to android 13, running MIUI 14. I'm still enjoying mine. And I hope you enjoy yours too.
This was the review that sealed the choice for me. Just here to rewatch this video on my Redmi Note 10 Pro and watching this on this 120Hz sAMOLED Display is mind-blowing!!
@Dr Olawale Ogunlana Very well said.I had this great phone since the 31st of July, and I'm just blown away by what I'm getting,at an affordable price.I really, really love this phone.
literally zero reason to drop $1k on a smartphone when the mid-range like this one and the Poco X3 Pro and many other phones are just more than enough for what u need, but ye some people like to overspend on something that they don't need/use.
That is absolutely incredible. Two years ago 250 euros would have gotten you a phone with a plastic back, 60hz LCD, no IP rating, and barely passable cameras. Xiaomi absolutely nailed it. I agree with Tom that a telephoto camera would have been much more useful instead the other two, but apart from that, I literally cannot ask for anything else at that price. In fact, I am VERY surprised they managed to put an AMOLED screen, IP rating, and were generous enough to put a micro SD card slot and a 3.5mm jack!? That's unheard of. I know these are basic features that every phone had years ago, but with every manufacturer getting rid of them nowadays, this is a big surprise.
Totally agree with you about the fact that these features currently are really disappearing, even though not too long ago these features were considered very standard basic features for a cell phone. I am totally surprised how cell maker are removing the microSD card slot and 3.5 mm jack.
Had mine about 3 months. A new ex-display phone. Cost just £145 for the 6g and 128gb. Can't believe how good the phone is for the price I paid. My first Amoled phone too. Compared to my old LCD phones it's night and day. Great phone. Enjoy! 😁
Xiaomi is my favorite brand. You know you're getting more than your money's worth with this company. They make less that 5% profit with each item they sell
I'll stick with their offers for now too....but am conscious enough...don't get too deep into becoming a fan and once the company get's too big, it begins to disappoint!
totally agree. I used to always go with Samsung then I tried Xiaomi for the first time. now I can confidently say I'll stick with Xiaomi because u just cannot beat their value and what they offer for the buck.
s21ultra and s21 use M5 OLED which is samsungs highest quality. the note ten uses E4 Oled which is the highest grade OLED they provide to other companies
Certainly, I find IR and 3.5 jack more useful that wireless charging, reverse charging, facial recog and thumbprint stealer. of those features I have on my phone I use none of them. And reverse charging?? Really? So I'm goo g to take the device that never has enough charge already and sap its power to charge something else? ? 🤯 I just can't figure that one out. Why not add something useful, like a laser level, laser distance measuring or touchless thermometer feature. THAT could be useful.
@@rberinger7647 bluetooth stuff is nice, but just getting to use normal headphones is so much better for me. Less delay and stuff. IK that bluetooth is getting better but I kinda wish they being some stuff back (flagship phones)
@@ttxsage1513 you know what ? i was just like you 1 or 2 years ago just looking for ram and SoC but you know what ? in 2021 a 732g is totally enought for evrything fast, good battery life management, good camera quality management... the 870 or 888 are better just for two things : playing fortnite and genshin in ultra 60 fps, and it is 2 or 3 seconds faster than the g model how often do you do that ?for 95% of users the 732g is totally enought
@@ttxsage1513 so why would i choose a one plus 8t , mi10tpro,s20 fe... for 4 time the price except for the 865 chipset ?there is absolutly no reason so yes it is for me the best budget phone ever made
@@montygill2835 he's a joke, he never took Xiaomi phones seriously, i prefer small RU-vidrs who review the phone like they're going to use it, not like Linus
bought this at launch during March 2021, been using it daily since then. still works perfectly, surprising since a lot of people had issues with Xiaomi/Redmi phones. and I'm not even using custom ROM or anything. peak Redmi phone if you ask me
The 120hz is nice to have, but seriously I'll probably just set mine to 60hz to conserve precious battery power in everyday use. It might come in handy occasionally. But I play games on playstation and Xbox, not on my phone. I watch movies and sports on my huge TV, not on my phone. So I'm actually a bit dubious about the value of the 120 capability on such a small screen. I'd actually rather pay less and get 60hz but I do recognize the benefit of the AMOLED panel, just not the increased scan rate.
@@rberinger7647 Have you tried 120hz? It' so much smoother navigating around your phone. Scrolling and animations are much smoother, feels like you have a much more premium phone. For movies it's not of any use. For gaming, it's nice when playing FPS I guess, but I don't game on phone either. For me at least, it's absolutely worth some less battery life for the premium smooth phone feeling with 120hz.
It's really incredible how their phone are getting cheaper every year and features packed while other company are pushing out little to no innovation devices and dare charge us $1000.
this phone just got a price cut in Germany to €180 (128gb/6gb variant) just a few days ago and its still probably the best phone under €200 even today almost 2 years later.
@@XGplay2016 Actually no. In standard Mandarin, "xiao" is pronounced close to "sheeow," not "shaw." It's just that many non-Chinese speakers mispronounce it, and then everyone repeats each others' incorrect pronunciation.
I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy J3 to Redmi Note 10 just this week after seeing a Greek friends phone and watching your video. I am over the moon with the features and speed of Redmi. Thanks for the info, it really has been an upgrade to remember. HRP.
Perfect phone! I’ve wanted a smartphone with 108 Mpix camera since Xiaomi released the first one but it and all the other brands too have been too expensive. Now the price is right so I can finally buy one!
Nice, how about the battery, do you find it lasts longer than your old phone? with 120hz screen, do you experience smoother scrolling? Is 4g vs 5g any big drawbacks? With the camera, can it be useful to take pictures far away with zooming in? I'm thinking about having it for a helicopter shooting from above.
@@xantonify yes the battery lasts two days even if you use the phone so much so i recommend it, The 120hz screen is so smooth I've noticed the difference between 60hz and 120hz and its amazing, but it doesn't support 5G still (the phone is good)
I got the phone in January 2022, and I can't remember all of the times I've dropped that phone now, but it's still holding strong, no scratches, nothing
If you haven't heard Xiaomi india head manu kumar jain said that miui 12.5 would help you remove almost all bloatware from Xiaomi phones excluding the camera gallery dialer messages etc
I ordered my Redmi note 10 pro seeing the review. I have used the Redmi Note 8 Pro and kind of like the MIUI platform (apart from bloatware and odd niggles). In between I used the Pixel 3a but decided to go for the Redmi as upgrade.
This phone actually has adaptive refresh rate, I've seen it in a video where if you don't use they display, the refresh rate turns to 60hz to save battery
@@Apurbo_ from what I remember it was adaptive depending on if you actually touched the screen as in if you touched it would turn into 120hz but when there is no touching it drops to 60hz, but i really do not know if it is a 100 percent true.
I have to say I think it's a great midrange phone. Great specs and just a few things left out which, in my opinion, are just the right things left out.
@Zack King if this was my video I would have spelled them all out but this is @thetechchap s video and he mentions the points that are missing throughout (which I agree with) so I would say, watch the video and find out 😊👍🏼
You've sold it to me. I've just ordered one. Who really needs 5G? I'm an old fart so it's absence isn't going to impact on me. Battery life, fast charging, bright AMOLED 1080 x 2400 resolution screen, the external memory card option, high res main camera, close focussing/macro, decent video stabilisation at 1080p (that's all I need) and the headphone jack ... I'm more than happy. Thanks for your very helpful review.
@@danialputra9298 your A52 is trash, you were robbed in daylight. embarrassing, you don't even have half the features that I have and you still paid way more, hilarious. you got f**CKed literally.
Argos are selling these for £149 now in the UK. If you can live with last year's model and 4G, I'd say that's a bargain. In fact, I've just ordered one!
I have been using the Note 8 for about well over 11 months now and I was looking to upgrade but held back because many of the midrange phones which have an OLED display come a bit pricey. I am looking forward to this one it looks great and can't wait to have it.
a week ago I bought a Redmi note 10 pro I am surprised with the performance makes good quality photos and good video also has enough memory and works fast, anyone who buys this model will never be disappointed
I bought it and a gimbal, really good phone, my wife uses the Samsung s21 Ultra which has awful autofocus compared to the Redmi. Thanks for the review.
5 years is so long time because we already reach 732 and next year we will able to usw SD 888 because technology is growing so fast and becoming very cheap in just 2 year . eg :we got 65 watt fast charger only in flagship but within a year we got this in midrange phone too.
i want to buy a new phone this year and i was going for the iphone (either 11/11 pro/11 pro max) but you know what im really considering this Xiaomi phone its literally a killer
Weird thing is when I saw the poco x3 which cost around £180 in the UK, I thought to myself I wish they had made a couple of upgrades and I'd be willing to pay a little extra. For example swap the 120Hz LCD display for an amoled one, bump up the chipset a little and improve the camera slightly and they probably could've kept the phone below the £300 mark. This redmi note 10 pro is basically that upgraded poco x3 I wanted (doesn't have an improved chipset though :( )
Seems that the 10 Pro is just 1 or 1.5 gens Behind the $1200 Samsung flagship. Not sure how that's an issue at this price. You should obviously just buy the Samsung flagship rather than complain about lack of features in a $300 phone, right?
@@hangnavorn5416 Yeah exactly, it's a cheap deal. And I have a 5 year old Huawei that's breaking down. I don't know if I have enough patience, but we will see.
@@blueish2 My MiMax2 have battery and DND pop out issues It's 5.5 YO. Luckily found an online store overseas that just restock. On the spot, I ordered one. This phone is hot. Sold out everywhere !
Great upgrade. Planing on getting one as I'm still sitting on my Redmi Note 5 Pro. But... what I would like to see instead of a clutter of useless zoom, ultrawide or macro lenses is one good main shooter with OIS.
Just got one as a secondary to my OnePlus 7T. But thinking of making this my primary because damn this device is good. A lot of community developer backing too.
I have it for 3 months and here are my issues: when I want to end a call my proximity sensor doesn't work and my screen remains black, so the other person should end the call. These days I just shake my phone and it lights up. It's the same when I open a voice message in Messenger - black screen until the message is over. I again shake the phone to fix it, sometimes it works. Also the touch sensitivity is tooo strong, when I scroll down RU-vid comments I accidentally open a comment, and it happens often, it's annoying. I cannot fix that. Also the camera in lower light is not good - I cannot read a text on the other wall of my room on a poster. It's almost the same in the day light. I'm not satisfied with the camera. I installed GCam and it's the same. My old PocoF1 makes better photos with GCam than 10 pro. Also when I'm on loudspeaker or when I send a message or record sounds there is some background noise that is so annoying even if I'm in a quiet room alone. When I shoot a photo of a close text it blurs the edges and only the center of the photo is clear, I couldn't fix this. Overall I'm gonna sell it and stay with my old PocoF1 which is still perfect in performance, camera, battery life (1 day of hard use - at least 7-8h SoT). On note 10 pro it's 9h SoT, when I use dark mode, always turn on battery saver, light on 50%, and only WiFi on. It doesn't heat up except in direct sunlight. Also my side fingerprint sensor is working 60% of the time.
@@Thetechchap I don't know if there are 100% 5G coverage in your country but 5G is waste of money in most of the world as we don't need that too much speed for anything in our normal. I don't think anything has been developed which need spontaneous 5G speed, even most of the 5G devices are also switch 4G to save battery. Currently there is no semen my mobile one is 4G what are used for calling and message because it is widely available across the country in almost corners and another one is 3G what are used for internet services with that I can watch 4K video and I don't need faster speed that.
People are joke, they have 10/20/50 GB mobile data (per month) and they want 5G and 500mbs download speed 😁😁😁😁😁😁 It's like you have Opel Corsa with 75HP and Vmax 170kmh and buy tyres for Vmax 270kmh
I'm looking forward to getting this phone after seeing the demo display unit. After years of using iPhones ,and various brands ,I'm not gonna be putting too much cash on high end phones anymore. Good bye Samsung galaxy note 9 ,Hello Xiaomi.
Have used this phone for about 3 monts and the experience has been great to be honest. It's snappy, the screen is amazing and camera is really good for the price. My previous phone was note 8t and this phone is noticably better in all aspects.
@@615BlackBarbie i think the pictures are really good considering the price. Post processing isnt on samsung s20 level, but it's really good. The main difference with high end phones is low light performance, mainly videos. For the price, the low light pictures are decent, i was surprised how good this camera is considering the price. Few months have gone by and im still really happy with this phone, this kind of overall performance shouldn't be possible if you consider the price. The speakers are loud and clear also. My next phone is going to be a xiaomi phone for sure, its hard to beat that experience in this price class, I'm amazed that you get so much for that cheap.
I've always been big on displays, since my Samsung Note 2 and then Huawei Mate 7. I got my Huawei P Smart 2021 about 16 months ago and I dropped it causing the screen to Crack. I'm due for an upgrade on my contract in June and the note 10 pro is the no brainer choice for me. Can't wait!
the best phone for the price, but if you looking for more powerful chipset then you can go for the F3 or the Redmi not 11 pro plus. but if you don't care about the chipset then Redmi not 10 pro is the most complete phone and the price is crazy cheap.
Definitely a great phone. Thanks for showing some real time footage and the gaming prowess of the phone. Great review mate and keep up the good work 👍😊
Everyone has to find the most miniscule problem in a smartphone that has literally everything, i mean even the headphone jack and ir blaster that most of the high-end phones don't have. The add of the Amoled, keeping the refresh at 120hz and considering the still accessible price, is what literally made the Redmi Note 10 Pro the ultimate budget phone
I think I have to say it. This one is one of a hell phone. It fell few times from my pocket while in lorry at height. Was ok. Then I lost it and forklift run over it or truck 44 tonner. That managed to cracked back cameras and back panel. Wide angle cam is shady but rest of cameras perfect working. The front screen is perfect not even a scratch, all phone work perfect. This is the one hard phone to kill.
The audio recording of this phone is very good. And I would most prefer 1080p video recording because of how balance it is, compared to 4K video recording. Nice video by the way 👍🏼
I,ve been buying redmi phones for the past few years..Because of the price range ,I don't feel that upgrading to a new one is indulgent.I,m very happy with them
@Ben Alexander lol, apple and Samsung are not protecting the nature by cutting charger they are just saving money that's it, they don't care about users that's it, well thank God my beloved huawei is not gonna ditch charger, well I am pretty sure in few years Apple and Samsung will give chargers
@@evil_xsimon3639 Apple announced they'll remove the box this year. Ben your iphone will be served wrapped in tissue paper lol 😂😂😂. Remember to save your old charger.
This will be my next phone for sure. Been waiting for something exactly like this! 3.5mm jack, SD card support, 120hz amoled panel, minimal bezels, decent cameras, big battery. For me I don't have access to 5g where I am in UK yet so not bothered, and wireless charging I'm not fussed about either. Did they tell you when the release would be?
Redmi note 10 pro has flagship specs without snapdragon 888 but 732g still good performance. We have to given credit to Xiaomi make great phone low price tag. I don't see Samsung or Apple do this with great specs. I will definitely be buy this.

Still using my Xiaomi Mi Max 3 here and it's brilliant. Big battery, big screen, plenty capable processor. I swear the flagship specs, especially CPU's are overkill for a phone. For RU-vid, email, FB, messaging, music & light gaming this phone is perfect. Anything heavier and I have better suited devices.
@@BrownIbitamunoSuoala Yup, still rocking it man. Still going great. It's just a great phone. :)
Very nice phone and even nicer video. You should review good phones from $100 with your honest thoughts so that we won't make mistakes. This phone seems way better than mid range phones from SAMSUNG and Nord N10, N100 from OnePlus. I hope OnePlus will do better with the upcoming phones of the NORD series.
