I finally did it! It took so much practice but we finally got there... This combo was executed by one of the best professional Street Fighter players in the world, Daigo Umehara, in the final of a tournament known as Stunfest in France. This combo was executed on the PS4 controller.

Capcom, this would've been the perfect time to give Daigo his own Super combo implemented into the game. It took nearly a full meter to do this combo so it is Super Combo worthy.

So... did Capcom indirectly nerfed “Evil Ryu” massively in SFV by having Kage instead? I mean not to mention although Kage also have insane combo potential, his normals are quite poor and seems to lack ways to safely get up close if I’m not mistaken. And I guess his ranged options are extremely limited with his fire hadoken since his regular ones don’t even travel. Maybe they indirectly nerfed his normals, defensive options, footsies or something...

@@nahdontevenstart Well I’m not literally saying he’s nerfed exactly. What I mean is that when Kage was added in SFV, he’s the character closest to the similarity of Evil Ryu even though he’s not exactly Evil Ryu. However it’s just that Kage isn’t that high on the SF5 tier as Evil Ryu was in USF4

I have watched everything of sf4, I dare you to paste a video link here, where anyone did this combo. Pr rog e.ryu is not good at all. Sako admited that Daigo was way better than him with e.ryu, that is why he barely touched him in usfiv, because he knew he would lose to Daigo.

Much like the famous daigo parry, it's not so much the combo itself that made everyone go crazy, it's the stakes and the level of competition at which it was done. People have done this combo before in stream matches, but this was significant because it was in grand finals on a top level world stage against one of the very best at usf4. Same with the parry at evo against Wong, one of the best. So good for you for learning, but it isn't that impressive.

I see that too, really skill wise. It just makes me mad how easy it is for newcomers and rookies to do 15+ hit combos in SFV. Compared to SFV where it was super hard do even do a simple link. It took me weeks to master some Evil Ryu combos and I don't even think I would've got past the first EX dash without messing up

Because they wanted to make an inclusive and lower skill gap game to entice new people to start playing the franchise, so they took all the cool fancy shit away, and anything that requires precise and perfectly executed inputs, and made Street Fighter 5, the game where you can do every characters max damage Combo in about 5 minutes of practising it.

@@paulfea me and my friend are getting into sf, and we play on controller. Any tips? It's really hard to learn combos and actually do them in a match

@@ieue_a8802 you just keep practicing. Try doing individual inputs many times in a row per side. If you feel confident in your motion and special attack inputs, understand the moves and try to combo stuff step by step. After getting the "feel", just keep trying and trying until you can do it consistently 10 times in a row for each side.
