Fat Ford was released off the 40 man and then signed to a major league contract by the Reds. What this simply means is neither the reserves or minors is ready to take up any slack. The minors is for development, not just to throw nine guys out there to play a game. Unexpected things, injuries, occur giving young players an opportunity for some experience. Unfortunately, that isn't how it works with cheapskates running a franchise. Ford is far from the only problem but what is the Reds without a guy to remind fans how horrible Moose Moustakas was.

Ford is a pathetic cheap effort to compensate for injuries. Reds act like they have players making several million up and down the lineup. They don't.
