5 years later, this video is still extremely useful ☺️. I just moved to a new studio and my first recording here was not exactly the best: the space didn't sound echo-y while recording but my mic actually picked lots of it. All fixed thanks to these advices, so thank you!

You just saved my project!! I thought that I would have to call people into the studio to do a voice-over but this technique worked magically! THANK YOU!

It's good to know about this effect. It would've been nice if you started the video with a "before and after" before you go in and show us how you did it. This way us viewers know if this is the right video for us or not. But thanks for the tutorial nonetheless.

Did not remove the full echo but certainly reduced it to a more pleasant tone with more bass, clearer voice. Thanks mate.

HOLY CRAP!!! This was SOOOO helpful!! We had some audio issues on set and ended up having to use scratch audio, but it was super echoey and muddy. You just saved my project... VERY simple, great explanation. Seriously. Thank you!

This is outstanding!!!!!!!! I had to shoot a 2 person interview and the mic on one of my subjects died forcing me to use the audio from the one remaining good mic. This helped clean up the audio tremendously!!! Thank you so much for these pointers!!!!

As i am a novice to tweaking audio, its good to see the technique you are using. But i can't really tell if the audio is better after your adjustment. And when you are moving the points around, i can't tell what exactly you are listening for. You find a point and you say this is a bad spot, now lets turn it down. I guess i just can't tell what the bad spot is just from listening. I wish more time in this video was spent analyzing and explaining those trouble points that are being brought down. I'm going to keep tinkering and hopefully it will click in my brain and i'll understand better. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Got me outta a pickle, bro! My wireless lapel mic channel was FULL of rubbing, due to it being used alongside the venue's wireless handheld mic. (And no, a bank change on my lapel's freq. didn't help). My only option was to use the on-cam shotgun mic's audio. A quick repeat of what you did here has improved the audio in my project immensely.

Thank you for this tutorial. I have added the Parametric EQ effect, however, I do not find the customize button under the effect controls to open the Clip FX editor . I run Premiere Pro CS6 on windows. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks for this. I have this issue when i record game play/ screen capture videos. For some reason all the videos i record echo/reverb and it's annoying.

How do I playback while modifying the curves? Everytime I hit the spacebar to playback it plays but the moment I modify something in the equilizer it stops the audio (unlike what is shown in the video). Any setting for this to be set to on?

I'm trying to do these adjustments, but why can't I hear my changes live? each time I adjust one of the frequencies, I have stop then play the clip in order to hear what I changed

Very helpful, but it doesn't decrease echo tho, it cleans it, for sure! but does little for the echo itself :)

Hi Sir , under the parametrics EQ there is not the edit option available . Do you think it's the version of my Adobe ? Thanks
@DMIwriter
@DMIwriter 7 лет назад
I had a similar issue. I used AUParametricEQ instead, which allows you to do the same thing, you just have to do it one point at a time, and keep re-applying the same effect.

It took me a while, too, but I finally found it. Make sure you have the sound clip highlighted on the timeline, then go into "effect controls" in the top left window, then scroll down down down until you see Parametrics EQ THEN click edit. That's how you get to that blue number line with the tiny numbers on it. Hope this helps!

What am I doing wrong? When I click and drag a point around, the audio stops completely and I have to re-render the entire audio clip, which takes a minute each time.
@idevpas
@idevpas 5 лет назад
The "problem" is with length and quality (bitrate) of your audio track. If you have a long and high quality audio track, the Premiere Pro will be render it. With relatively short and low quality audio track you may work with Parametric equalizer in real time.

It's not even working. First off, this particular footage doesn't present echo in its audio... so what actually worked? This is a tutorial for a different thing not echo removal. Thanks for sharing though.

you didnt actually add a high or low pass / cut just fyi, but nice vid!
@frederickbrummer5680
@frederickbrummer5680 5 лет назад
yeah, i was thinking this too. you've switched on the high/low shelves but haven't added or removed any frequencies. The high/low cut filters are the next ones over and are labelled "LP" and "HP". I was hoping you'd go into more detail there, as I've been fighting with a verby recording, reducing the low end cleans up a lot of the verb but also leaves the recording too bright and thin sounding. nice vid though, thanks!

Your voice is much louder than the camera audio, so it's hard to hear what's going on.
