hi i am indian as per my knowledge we have to increasethe lenth ofthe back after reducing 1"or more as per requireme nt in one piece dress its first we have to close the horizontal excess as a dart and then we have to adjust length by removing created excess by taking side waistline in this is swayback a djustment

Thanks for the tip. Most women have a sway back , so this tip will help eliminate the extra fabric that bunches up in the back

I add a dart to the waist line and connect it all the way up One inch it's more than enough Than I add that one inch to the side, otherwise it won't fit
@sodunolasodunola513
@sodunolasodunola513 6 лет назад
If the actual half length is 16, deduct 1 inch from the back making it 15 inches for the back but use the exact 16 inches for the front
@Queenys_touch
@Queenys_touch 6 лет назад
you are talking about a gown with half length, I meant a gown without joining
@cynthiaadom8932
@cynthiaadom8932 4 года назад
Does it affect the actual shoulder to waist measurements?if my s-w is 17 and you deduct 1inch won’t it affect the length. In this case what do you do? Please reply
@ciscastitches
@ciscastitches 4 года назад
Your shoulder to waist at the back will be shortened at the back. If you leave ot it will just form a fold. It won't really affect the length. If you are concerned, you can start with 0.5 inches and work your way up and then see what works for you.

Hello , I tried this and it worked a bit but the seam at the back was not straight, is that how it’s meant to be ? Also any other advice that can help eliminate the folding completely ? Thank you
@ciscastitches
@ciscastitches 6 лет назад
What do you mean by the seam at the back? Is it the seam joining the waist of the bodice to the waist of the skirt?
@OAO-du9cn
@OAO-du9cn 6 лет назад
Cisca Stitches & Designs yes the Seam joining at the waist of the bodice the waist to the skirt. It’s not straight 😭
@ciscastitches
@ciscastitches 6 лет назад
Sorry about that... In the video after cutting, I got a slight slant. After joining to the skirt that part won't be straight because on a normal when the dress is cut and sewn folds occur in that part of the dress. What you are trying to do by taking that 1 inch off is to reduce the fold.
