Can’t deny it... yes super fast on 4s but the price tag is just too much. Great video brother! 💯

Beastly servo with a beastly price.

You should probably put some padding under the servo to isolate the vibration and shock from the chassis.

I remember reading from Holmes Hobbies that using the balance plug for direct powering your servo can burn them up. Maybe be different with reefs but holmes had a bunch of people do this and ruin there servos.
@ExocagedRC
@ExocagedRC 3 года назад
I have that safety part in there for that reason. But if the servo is rated for it, it’s good to go

That servo is insane. You might consider using some spacers to bring that servo up a bit and maybe tape some yoga mat in between the servo. IMHO the heat disapation benefits are small compared to the risk of metal on metal shock slapping that big rig. To much $$ at risk there IMHO, metal to metal maybe ok in crawlers but not in a huge heavy basher 👍

Good point, it took some hits on this one but it wasn't flat landing on pavement either

What's the verdict on powering the 2000 through the car's 4S batteries instead of it's own battery? I watched a video from Reef's, they recommended powering the servo separately. I'm about to buy either the 1000 or the 2000. I'd prefer the 2k if I don't have to add a separate battery. Thanks and keep up the good work!

For this servo does it only work with direct power or is the direct power optional and you could just connect it to your ESC??
@slick408
@slick408 Год назад
The esc, bec is 8.4v max, they rate them at "peak" but in real life you get like half of that. Castle Xlx2 says 20a peak, might be 10-12a constant. A servo might need 15a for 1800oz but you only have 10a so you get 1200oz might hurt or heat up the esc, might lose connection from the receiver. A li-ion battery is preferred because they are tougher, add like .5 lb. If you want super torque you paid for, it has to have its own battery.

I have heard servo touching chassis is super no go cos of vibration and impacts that will go straight to it and mess the electrics? I always lift mine a bit cos of this reason
@ExocagedRC
@ExocagedRC 3 года назад
I’ll lift this one too but it took this abuse pretty well.

I thought that a larger gauge wire would be required at some point to power even our 1/10 scale servos while passing through these higher voltages and massive torque.
@ExocagedRC
@ExocagedRC 3 года назад
I’d think so too and these are a little bit larger but not by much.

When you hook the servo to the battery, is it also the battery thats running the truck? I ask because i just put this in my xmaxx and just picked up a 4s 450mah to power just the servo. Is that ok? I'm not interested in burning up the servo
@ExocagedRC
@ExocagedRC 4 месяца назад
Ok please be careful with a direct power servo in a dual battery truck, using a seperate battery for the servo is fine but if you decide to use one of the two batteries running the truck MAKE SURE you are plugging the servo into the battery feeding the NEGATIVE side of the esc, if you make a mistake and use the other side, you will have a smoke show as wire will light up like lightbulbs.
@daveat957
@daveat957 4 месяца назад
@ExocagedRC cool, now I get what you were saying at the safety part. Yeah, I plan on always running a dedicated battery. The one I picked up is very small and only $15. Tattu 450mAH 75c 4s 14.8v I didn't realize tattu was genace
@daveat957

@ExocagedRC also I think I saw 2 ways to power the servo. The balance port and the direct positive/negative port. Which is the recommended way? I'm new to direct power servos, this was a gift servo so learning as I go

GREAT servo but i think agf rc 100kg servo at $289 is the next best middle ground it actually has 125kg/cm instead of 144 of this beast[get it lol]. and its max out at 16v whereas this goes to 16.8 so probably that extra 0.8v are making the difference but still too expensive. Btw won't using these high volt servos will decrease the voltage going to the motor? as in an 8s[just single 4s+ single 4s] setup all of those 8s volts are going to motor isn't it? maybe 4 battery extreme 4s+4s in paralleled with 4s+4s may help
