I don't even own any of the vehicles you work on but its always a pleasure to sit and watch the talk through of what you do. Thats the only way I can apply locktite, spill it on the table first :D
Just installed the xlx2 in my dbxl-e 2.0 on Monday. Ran it for about 15 mins Tuesday and no problems. Planned on running it today for a full run but, the negative connector came off on the esc. When I say came off the esc, I mean the connection on the board in the esc. According to the logs today, it only pulled 344.3 amps. I'm going to send it in for warranty work/replacement but it could take up to 2.5 months before I get it back, if then. The tech also told me the xlx2 isn't supposed run with that high of an amp draw but yet castle was testing with over 500 amp draws. The ripple did go up right when the wire was coming unsoldered. The temp went to 100.8F. As of right now, I'm not impressed with castle.
Nice one Earl, I'm gonna get back into some larger builds now after over a year of crawlers. DBXLe interests me so does the XLX2 system as I'm building a baja 5b right now. ✌
@@earlmoorhead5555 thanks, gonna try and keep it light, not over build it with machined alloy and stick an XLX2 combo or MGM 400 combo in there. The latter might be a little too overkill but you know me 🤪
I have the same motor in mine and it rarely gets hot plus you got the gamechanger fans. Wow your in for a huge difference. I really like all the accessories that you've added, I'm interested in seeing some more on that crazy servo.. great job. Sorry Earl I did get you build confused with exocaged rc, he is doing something similar with the XLX2 11k ... none the less I still like your build and builds.
Thanks for the video. I been really interested in this vehicle. How well has the chassis held up for you? Has it had any bending? I'm not a hard basher but would like to race it around a large track we have. Thanks for your time!
EARL.... that’s a heavy motor,,,do you think some sort of rear support at the rear of the motor will benefit it from flexing under hard landings,,,just an observation on my part....🇺🇸👈🚘 great build....👍
Earl - really important - REALLY IMPORTANT. switch to either 8mm bullets or preferably QS8 connectors right away. Those Xt90s will be a major bottleneck and bad hot things can happen. Be well and do have a Very Merry XMAS!!
That is one of the things that keep me from buying a castle xlx2, worried it'll catch fire. The other thing is my brother got a castle system (esc and motor) for his kraton 6s. The 1st motor broke a shaft (running on flat ground) and the 2nd one locked up. The esc wasn't any better. It was replaced with the warranty and it didn't last. He now has a max 6 esc and hobbywing motor, so far, so good. Another thing castle does that I don't like is they use a slide switch, I like the push button switches. I have the max 5 but it's on it's last legs. Looking to replace the esc with either a r-snake flier 400a or save up for an mgm esc ( very expensive ).
I've been running this xlx2 setup for about a year. Yesterday I did a esc calibration and now I can't get reverse WITH braking working. It was working before and now its not. Strange.
What’s that? 🧐 so please correct me if I‘m wrong but wasn’t it the steering that‘s really bad on the 2.0? Is it going to be a speedrunner in the future? Full trottle but just straight forward? So center differential makes sense but why don’t you first fix the steering? That xlx2 1100 would have been great for the limitless giveaway 😉
