Tenderfoot is a song that I wrote for myself, first and foremost. It's a song about self-love and acceptance, of recognizing the things inside of me that make me who I am. It's also a song that I wrote for my listeners. The ones who go to my gigs to whisper their troubles. The ones who pour their hearts out, unafraid to be vulnerable to a stranger. The ones who have dark days every now and then.
It's not the easiest to always feel 100% good about yourself. I should know. But I hope that this song can be a small ray of light to someone who might be having a bad day, or week, or year. Just a little reminder that each day, we can try to do it, and ourselves, better.
This beautiful video was produced by Hinhin and LouderPH. I am wearing Hinhin's beautiful Hiraya dress, and it's hard not to feel good about yourself in this. It is an armor, in more ways than one.
