I'm now 29. I had tons of life goals pre-pandemic which had to shift radically. I moved countries, did a Master's degree and now job searching for a new career and a completely different life than I had expected to lead in early 2020. I've given up on planning anything because life just didn't turn out that way for me.
Omg literally did the same thing as you - moved to a different country for a masters, started a new career etc during covid! Definitely agree with you, i feel like it’s almost better not to plan

So fascinating what you said about the then unknown path of the influencer! It feels like it goes the other way now - traditional celebrities or public figures having careers that more resemble that of influencers…
Wow I remember watching that five years ago and now I’m 24 myself. I think I’m going to do a list today as I’m think far more about my life. I feel that sometimes goals stop me from staying true to myself and flowing with what feels right rather than “the plan” which may have been created through the attitude of “should”. I realise I probably have less career goals now and more family ones. Things like reducing my waste, learning to grow my own veggies, find a community in my area, having a kid with and marrying my fiancé, finding a mentor who helps me grow as a therapist, moving to the countryside. That which emerges from the heart for me.
Love love love this video. It is so honest and raw. It also reminds me that it's ok not to have achieved some goals because we have changed or circumstances have differed from what we assumed it would be. And that's quite alright! I am Turning 29 this year and the best lesson I have learned in my 20s is to slow down and just live and be grateful for the moments, the small things. We are all on different journeys and timelines!

I'll be 21 yrs old in a few weeks. Three years ago I did one of those emails to your future self, that I'm supposed to receive in summer of 2024. In just 3 years so much of my life now is not what I thought it would be. Not necessarily in a bad way, just very different with some frustrating setbacks. Making a list of tiny or general goals for the next 3 years feels like a good idea right now
Loved this video, so interesting to see how the landscape has changed since you made the original video from a creator perspective. I'm the same age as you Lucy and I remember watching this video from younger you as it was yesterday. Mental how time flies. I tried to do a career in my 20s that did not suit me, so I changed the goal posts, also a lot of hardship happened, shaping my 36 year old self, but basically I achieved things I never expected.
I think with High gate cemetery the council is looking to remove some of the trees to improve sightlines and for maintenance reasons so if you like the wilder vegetation atmosphere you should visit soon :)
I am 32 and I never had any goals. I expected to be an adult by the time I turned 30, but I didn't really have an idea of what it meant. I still don't know, and I definitely don't feel like I'm an adult.

I'm over 30 and my life looks nothing like I thought it would. I never made a list of things so I can't officially check if I did them. I know I had hoped to travel more and to own a house. I am starting to travel more though it looks different now that I am married and have kids. The house is going to be the hardest since the prices keep going up. But I am busy working on growing my business to make this happen.

I'm going to have to do my 30 before 30. My year by year goals can be the steps to accomplish the bigger things! It also gives me room to modify the bigger goals as needed as I gain perspective and clarity on things in my life.

Omg the nail thing! I don't bite my nails but I pick at the skin around my cuticles sometimes until it bleeds and the only thing that helps is having my nails done too!
I turned 30 this year! (ignore the profile pic, it's from 2011 and I'm too lazy to change it). My big things were to buy a house and move to London. Bought a house two years ago and moved to London this year. I'd love to get a cat but that goal wasn't compatible with moving to the other side of the planet. One day when we're more settled and do less travelling.
I don't really understand....u were talking about the London housing crisis in your stories very recently ....and now you're buying a house??? Every influencer seems to be buying a house these days....is it really affordable to buy a house in London now or u earn so much that we cannot take your steps realistically as we have normal jobs of £2000 a month tops?
Honestly, it's the latter. Not that they don't do effortful saving but the amount of wealth just in the form of receiving gifts constantly that you can resell/don't have to spend money on i.e., the couch, means that the money not spent can be saved for future real estate. It's essentially unobtainable for most people. WhatWhat's probably also going to happen is that this flat they hope to purchase will probably be turned into a rental property which will eventually pay for itself and then provide additional wealth to buy a bigger home (lots of people who can afford it do this). One issue of this means that then there's 1 less property for anyone else to buy in the city and then the rents keep going up etc., and you see the wheel keep on turning.

U realise your life is nothing like these people's and began to think it's because you don't do enough effort and it's the very opposite, these people have it really easy for excuse me, but a quite shallow and flat "job", and she doesn't even have that many followers or visualizations. This industry is nuts
It’s definitely not the norm. Not going to lie, this part of the video’s made me a little uncomfortable. Lucy is right, the London housing market is absolutely nuts right now. But seeing this after watching the stories you are referring to feels a little inappropriate. Most people can’t afford to buy in London, I will probably move out of the city because I won’t be able to afford it long term. That’s just how it is 🤷🏻♀️
