If your refrigerator isn't keeping as cool as it should and you feel like the fans are running more than they should you could have a freon problem or a condenser fan motor gone bad. Here we show you how to check the condenser fan motor.
Saying that if it has coils on the back means it doesn't have a condenser fan was infinitely valuable information that no one else seemed to offer. Thank you.
This highlights the common issues of the condenser fan NOT running, when the compressor IS running i took too much to heart his comment that "normally" if such is the case, the fan is bad. When the new replacement motor arrived, it too failed to run. I skipped the test he showed about checking if you have 120 v power to the fan. My, after the fact, test showed it did not! I am now having to return the new motor and study why we have no power to the fan.
What if both the fan amd compressor are running but running slow as if not getting enough power. This is an LG sxs. It has a bad RUN capacitor on the board. Could a baf cap cause fan and compressor to run at partial speed, or is it s leaker? Not sure how being low on refrigerant would cause the fan to do this. The fan is new put on by previous owner.
geat video, today i was replacing a relay because i thought it was not working, after i was done replacing my relay i notice i had the same problem even whith a new relay on, i notice my conpresor was running but is was hot, i know when they run hot they run out of gas or oil so i was wondering can anything else make the conpresor go really hot?
my Yoder loop is hot to touch & a burnt smell is present. The compressor is hot but running & the fan is not running but the blade will turn if I turn it. Could it be the motor fan?
My Kenmore older frig has the compressor on and the fan running, but the fan is running very slowly. How fast do these fans run? Mine is running where you honestly can't feel a breeze blowing on the compressor/condenser unit...Thanks. Thanks in advance for your advice. Phil
Even during normal operation the compressor will get hot so unless your refrigerator is not cooling well then don't be concerned with a hot compressor. If its not cooling well then you will need to determine if it low on freon, both the fan in the freezer and sitting by the compressor are running, or if there is a defrost problem (there will be frost or ice on the back panel inside the freezer behind the food if there is a defrost problem). all of these will make the compressor run a lot.
I just installed a condenser fan. It sits between the compressor and the condenser coils. It is blowing air on the compressor. Is that correct or should it blow air on the condenser coils?
what is that "other issue " you mention......my fan and my compressor motor do absolutely nothing.....even after replacing that $130$ relay and start capacitor.
Hello, The fan in my fridge stops when the PCB tells it to, but doesn’t restart on its own, but if you spin it by hand it starts to run again, when it does stop I can feel the motor running, but fan doesn’t spin, is there anything I can do or is it a case of replacing the fan and motor. Thanks
I have the same problem and this is the first video or even anything out on the internet that mentions the condenser fan not running and the compressor not running. Unfortunately, he ends the video without saying that the other issue could be. I am exploring the main circuit board???
Would low refrigerant make the fan AND compressor run slow? Ot, could it be a bad run capacitor? Have an LG that does cool. Has new fan. Fan and compressor serm to be running on partial power. Could this be because it id low on refrigerant? The fan running this way is confusing me. The run capacitor checks faulty.
You set your meter one notch above your expected reading so in this case you are expecting 120 volts so set your meter on 200V which tests voltage up to 200 volts.
hello I have a fridge with a similar condenser fan, and the problem is that the fan does not start automatically, when I connect the fridge, I need to give a little push to ge it started to spin, any ideas can you somebody help me
side by side fridge was only running half cold in the freezer side, frige side was warm, condenser fan was running and evap coils were building up frost and the evporator fan was not running, changed the defrost thermostat first, and it didnt help, changed the evaporator fan and its still not running, now the condenser fan stop running..... switch the start capacitor and the condenser fan spins a little then stops, is it the overload relay? and how do i test the relay?
@@dylanrichmond4179 tell me more about your problem...did the compressor turn on with evap fan or both were off? Was your problem intermittent some times fridge cold then later hot? Was it the relay?
