Good video. Got to love when you have to make due with what you have on the van. I think it betters us as techs because it forces you to think about it.
I believe That ranco control (the control that was giving you trouble)requires you to mount the sensing bulb on vertical piping it does make a difference since it is liquid charged will not sense correctly do to liquid migration. If you were to look closely at the bulb on the pigtail end I think where you would see the word TOP stamped in the bulb seen this many times
Those penn/Johnson controls temp probe...they are actually adjustable. I took off the dial and underneath there's a pin and a dial. You can recalibrate them if your in a pinch...close unuff anyway...😁 If you get a trash one disect it and you'll see what I'm talking about
yeah, but if they've started to drift/offset something is failing slowly, best to just replace, for a temporary not on truck, fix after weekend/ot, then sure
Not for beginners - kind of sketchy (I know, you're not a teacher, but your vids are good and many of us are learning the refer trade from them.) Any chance you could make a "version 2" of this with voiceovers at various key points to explain the function and problems with the various pieces of equipment?
Thank you. The wires were most probably damaged during brazing. Sloppy work from the previous tech. Lack of both knowledge and attention to detail on his part.
@@rookierefrigeration4357 It goes without saying, it was not you or your team. First you would have not shown it, second, you as a HVAC tech, have my highest respect. Thank you for your effort to help me grow.
4:36 red wire spade doesnt appear to be inserted all the wayon the ckntroller. Either screw loose or wire spade has fallen out of the controller. Could this have been part of the issue and not the controller itself?
Confused to why you need a controller to turn the heaters on. Doesn’t the time clock do that with 3 and N? Also, doesn’t the dtfd turn the fans on/off?
@@rookierefrigeration4357 Guess practices are different. Here, everything will be controlled by controllers, including defrost and such, even on big rack systems.
I’m starting HVAC school at TCC in Fort Worth January 19 and was wondering if I can get a job in your company while I’m in school? Are y’all hiring helpers at the moment?
