I appreciate your explanations.. I typically work on large commercial units (15-25hp condensers) or refeer trucks/trailers and your explanations remind me of basics that should never be overlooked!

That’s some big equipment. Fundamentals are key to not overthinking the problem. Once you rule all of that out, then start to think outside the box.

Indeed, on the side I do alot of reach-in stuff which thats very important, a huge refrigerated warehouse has some different rules with dynamic heat loads due to processing at the time, etc

Your videos are always great. I enjoy all of them. Can you mention some of the stuff you don’t cover in this video for example. Like before you braised did you pump down or pull the refrigerant. Show better how you got the calculations in the very beginning . Like the Let’s call it 10F Thanks, Big Fan of your videos.

Love the channel! I watch it almost daily! Curious did you go to school to learn your charging procedures, or did you learn everything from a mentor? I've been in the industry for about 7 years now, and I've only learned from other people. The mentors i have had are very smart, but they just get to the pressures they feel is right and leave it at that. They don't even know the technical way to charge, like you are presenting here! I'm starting my own company soon and would love to learn all of the deep technicalities for charging reach in's and walk in's. could you possibly point me in the direction of an online class or a college that teaches this? There are none locally here in Huntsville, AL. They are all centered around residential HVAC. I am dying for more MEAT on commercial refrigeration. Thank you for everything you do!

Need your help! Walk in freezer R449A low side 35 high side 165 no frost buildup coil not cold enough to close fan delay clicks on unit will not pump down. Even when king valve closed. Scroll compressor 3.5 amps. Ambient 80 degrees , box temp 36. Site glass empty or clear no bubbles. Llt 89 F slt 80F. No heat moving on lines only thing that is hot is the discharge line to top of condenser piping hot and compressor hot. Suction line never gets cold.

If the feed of the evaporator is law the build up of ice is asymmetrically and to the side that the freon inserts to evaporator first.In your case the ice is in all over the evaporator and the valve is frozen because it's closing dew to liquid refrigerant passing throw the suction and bulp.In your case it seems bad defrost cycle together with much moisture.I propose electronic defrost with tge air always running and solenoid closing for 7 minutes every hour

Excellent find. Looks easy but not easy to find without experience. To braze on the accumulator, a pump down is enough? I presume the accumulator is after the receiver king valve.

Yea, thought it would be at the evap like usual but the detector picked it up. Yes I just pumped down and ran a good vacuum. With the rising cost of refrigerant, this is going to become common practice.

Thank you very much for the informative video I learned from your experience. My question as someone new in this field, how you I get to know the saturation pressures? And do you have a video where you show at length how to do those calculations, because I look like they are important in knowing the running/operation pressures of the refrigerant one is working with in the unit.

It’s sometimes hard to find condenser split temps. Are there any basic rules if there is. Is information? So as an example if you have a 134a cooler do you go with a 20 degree over ambient temperature? Or should it be higher like 30 degrees?

@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Год назад
Low sight glass = low charge (once air flow has been ruled out). Once the full charge is in and pressures are within our calculations, we know that a restriction is not an issue
@Brisket9392

Depends where the sightglass is located. If it is after a liquid drier that is restricted, yes it will.

TD is the difference between your return air temp - coil SST. Not sure why he stated it’s like the super heat. It’s common rule of thumb ( values vary in application med,low temp , air conditioning. Hope this helped!
